Being widely reported this evening that Kevin Nolan has left Orient. Their mental chairman wants to pick the team apparently....

He will be picking the team for Saturday and our head of recruitment and head of Operations will be in the dugout for the game.:mad::(

Yup. Sometimes in life the only applicable words are 'for fuck sake'. Mind you I'll be along at the Dagenham match and that should be interesting.

And you'll probably beat us which will make him think he's a genius.

What a joke that is, the Orient owner has essentially fucked our season over by buying Nicky Hunt.

Not sure what to say to be honest, Nolan needed time as does any manager. The player-Manager situation wasn't working well, Nolan as a player has been shit since he came here. But in places we have looked alright as a team and have been harder to beat after leaking goals left, right and centre under Ian Hendon.

But recently the players lack of desire has come into question, some of our performances have been really, really woeful.

All our goals have dried up as well it seems, we don't look like scoring all of a sudden.

Also on Saturday at Barnet, Nolan took a shit load of stick for his poor tactics and constantly launching long balls into Ollie Palmer with nothing coming off.

Nolan inherited a team from Ian Hendon which had been recruited poorly with his signings - too many squad players for this level: Blair Turgott, Connor Essam, Frazer Shaw, Sammy Moore, Ollie Palmer. Although Moore, Shaw and Palmer have had their moments in the first team and have "done a job" in places, they're more squad players for this level and not regular starters who you can rely on to get you promoted. Losing Paul McCallum and Dean Cox for the whole season was also a huge blow.

Nolan signed Nicky Hunt - Who divides opinion, but he is steady enough at this level unless he comes up against any pace, Peter Ramage, who has been OK, but had a nightmare Saturday and Jerome Binnon-Williams who has been a bit sluggish since he has been here and blows hot and cold.

Now the owner WILL pick the team Saturday against a side all but down.

No decent manager will want to come here after all this, why would they? Hell, I'm a supporter and in truth not even I'd fancy it.

The end is getting closer.

You could've not sold him.
In truth, for Mansfield and for Hunt it was a good deal for them. They got a fee for a 31 year old who had 6 months left on his contract and whom they only signed 6 months earlier.

Thing is also, with Baudry out - a player who would get into most League One teams - we needed a centre half and there was probably a very limited choice in who was available. He had no say in Atangana or Gnanduillet. We've had three bad games, big fucking woop. McAnuff and CJM were away for two of them, Baudry was out for the lot. Happens, he's had 15 games for fuck sake!

Quite the opposite now for Saturday, alot of our fans hope YOU BEAT US, because it will be the ultimate insult - Losing to the bottom club in the division who is 90% certain to go down.

You seem to like doing this just before you play us. Weren't we your first (and maybe only) game under Kevin Nugent after Slade left last season?

Hope you lot sort it out, don't massively care for Orient but you deserve to be run a whole lot better than this.

Or have no club at all. :ohm: What a total farce this club has become since Hearn sold it to dodgy Italians.

Is it not worrying that your season hinged on a 32 year old right back?!

Andy Hessenthaler will take over as manager, Kevin Nolan will continue on as a player...
Have the owners seen Nolan play?
Surely this is only going one way. The only explanation is they are trying to avoid paying Nolan off his 2+ year contract. I bet he ends up going to court claiming constructive dismissal

How I think it'll play out basically. Our old (I think it was him) Sporting Director Mauro Milanese took Orient through the employment courts... Guess we'll see if he plays Saturday. I personally think he'll do a muscle in training.

As far as we know, apparently:

-Becchetti was livid on Saturday with the defence and goalkeeper.
-He wanted to sack ALL of the coaching staff and manager and wanted to take the team himself.
-The above would've been done with Rob Gagliardi and our Head of Operations in the dugout.

However:
-You need a UEFA level 3 (I think) qualified coach in the dugout for all League Two games - Gagliardi despite being a goalkeeper/goalkeeping coach doesn't have that qualification.
-Becchetti has to have a rethink, he decides to remove Nolan as manager - But keep him as a player and asks Andy Hessenthaler to take control of the first team.

Nolan has apparently:
-Not wanted to play for the last three weeks, but Becchetti has forced him to play himself (So Becchetti has been controling team selection to an extent).
-Will not been staying on as a player and is negotiating a payoff/release from his contract.
-Players turned up for training today and there was no one to take the session.
-The reserve game which was scheduled was due to have a strong first team presence in it, they were replaced by the youth team.

That about covers it.

"Not a lot to add to what's already being said. No lessons learned. No progress made. No guidance sought. A club being brought to its knees".

Tweet by Matt Porter, Hearn's CEO.

Didn't realise that Leyton are only 2 pts off play offs, end of season push to take one of the slots?

What a mess. If Orient had a half sane owner they'd of probably been in the top 3 at least!

If they had a reasonable owner they would not have been relegated from League 1 in the first place!

He was our goalkeeping coach last season. Left when Liverani got the chop and was goalkeeping coach (and reserve goalkeeper!) at Welling Utd until the three amigos were booted out. We then took him back as head of recruitment.

Prior to this he worked as a sustainability officer in the Greater London Authority.
