That match was so tense too. Both sets of players and fans absolutely shitting themselves all the way through. Like you say, it is a real shame when proper fans are swerving games for reasons relating to disorder and trouble.

There was about 10x more police at the game on Saturday than I’ve ever seen for one of our trips to Cleethorpes before. Hundreds of them all over the place. To be fair the local Humberside ones seemed okay and I didn’t see any trouble until BTP got involved on the way home.

A lad I know broke his leg at that home game in the trouble after heading up Sheff Road towards the Crown & Anchor. Was a fair bit of bother from what I was told. I missed both the Grimsby games that season on stag do's but have been before and always thought it was one of them games to go too and almost expect to see trouble.

Apparently at the Mariners Trust AGM last night Debbie Cook said it was a combination of things. They reckon around 10% of season ticket holders on average miss each game and also they give away complimentary tickets which aren't being used.

They are looking into how season ticket holders can be refunded and sell on their seat in the future if they know they won't be attending like Lincoln do.

We've continued to tweak ours over the last four years or so.

I can't remember exactly what the split was but initially it was if you were an STH and not turning up, you could let the Club know and if it was sold, it was split three ways between the STH, Club and Academy (I've got 60/20/20 in my head).

It was then changed quite quickly to an STH can give up their seat for re-sale but only if it's a sell-out and it's 70/30 between the STH and Club if it's sold but I *think* the 70% goes as a credit against an ST the following season.

We had an issue when the new Chairman and CEO took over that around 8% of our crowds were complimentary tickets, which cost the Club a lot of money and has now been drastically reduced. For example, usually turnstile operators would get paid for their two hours work and watch the game for free. Now they have to buy a match ticket (unless they're a STH who get 25% off an ST after they've worked 20 games, which, when added to what they earn as a turnstile operator, effectively gives them a free ST the following season).

Wrexham still remain top of the overall away attendances table after impressive followings at Barnet and Maidenhead, whereas Grimsby remain top of the weighted average away attendances table. Their showing at Woking actually broke this seasons' record for the most impressive away following based on the distance travelled. Wrexham hold the highest away attendance figure, after 1700 Wrexham fans showed up at Stockport County.

We had 507 at your place and 581 officially at Southend, although there was definitely a good 300 or so extra for the latter that weren't accounted for.

Your lowest away following was 462, but because that trip was the longest trip in the whole league it bumped the weighted figure up to 1465! Compare that to the weighted figure for our trip to Stockport, which means that despite taking a sellout 1700 there, we only have a weighted attendance of 884 for that one. That is where this figure falls down a bit unfortunately, as sellout crowds are not accounted for. We'd have had double what we took for both Solihull and Stockport.

As a percentage of their home crowd, @Wealdstone_FC have the fourth best away support at 11.92% in @TheVanaramaNL . Only Southend 17.28%, Grimsby 14.42% and surprisingly Dagenham 12.44% are higher. Bottom of the pile Eastleigh at 2.53%. Lge avg so far 8.67%.

Definitely a bit of that boosting our numbers too. You'll get quite a bit of longevity out of a new manager too I'd have thought.
