They've announced that next week's show will be the last.

I still listen to it and I think it's a shame that it's being cancelled.

Try broadcasting the show at a time when human beings are actually awake and it could have drawn a really decent audience, real shame

I've listened to it throughout the current season on the podcast and enjoyed it. Shame it's going just as we arrive :(

Surely just download the podcast if you actually want to listen to it?
Yes and I have done that for the few times that Alfreton have been mentioned but otherwise I never seem to get round to it and everything that is mentioned on there is available via other media outlets.

I download the podcast and listen to it while doing the housework.

Many moons ago, it used to be broadcast live on BBC London (and online) at 9pm on a Monday. It was so much better as it was interactive and it covered round the country despite being based in London. Then the BBC made cuts to the local radio service and it moved to a pre-recorded programme in its current time slot.

I don't like Caroline Barker as a presenter and when I did try and listen the guests always seemed to be experts in Southern based non-league

I should imagine Talksport 2 will add something similar - there were potential plans in place for something before this announcement so now I'm sure they will plough on with it.

I always liked Caroline Barker, Dave Anderson was a good laugh too. A shame the show descended into a FCUM love-in, but was still a good listen for the morning commute.

The presenters were poor. Would make sense if Talksport picked it up, they would fit in well on there.

It was OK, but not surprised it's been bumped. The sheer scope of non-league football meant they pretty much had to focus on the Conference National and clubs associated with the guests (as if FCUM need any more media coverage), with the odd token story about some club you've probably never heard of (even by tinpot non-league standards) and to be frank you have no reason to give a shit about. It risked getting interesting when they got an official from one of the leagues on and there was an opportunity to talk about the state of the game, but most of the time it just turned into an opportunity to regurgitate some PR guff about how brilliant everything is.

Not sure how people can have a problem with Caroline Barker mind you. A proper radio presenter who also happened to have what seemed to be a genuine interest in and knowledge of non-league football. Not sure what more people expect.

She's no Stan Collymore. Or Mark "Don't make me angry" Saggers. Or Adrian Durham. Or Jason Cundy.

Talk sport presenters are the biggest bellends around. All they do is make ridiculous statements and pretend to have different views to each other to create 'debate'.

As said above, Caroline Barker is a proper radio presenter.

Maybe, but at least they are funny and entertaining. This show was neither.

And Talksports non league coverage is actually pretty decent at times, the likes of Colin Murray and Tony Incenzo know a fair bit. But they leave out the boring stuff.

Have to admit I didn't even know Talksport had any non-league coverage. Given that the whole Talksport model is getting morons to ring the premium rate number and dribble down the line in response to the sincere not-made-up-for-money opinions of the presenters, I'm surprised the non-league stuff is even viable.

Caroline Barker is preferable to all of them IMO. Tony Incenzo seems a good bloke with a genuine interest in non-league football thought. Colin Murray is a wanker.

The NLS was often interesting, sometimes funny and always easy to listen to. Can't say I've ever found anything on TalkSport interesting or easy to listen to

Poor show is better than no show at all in my eyes, though I thought it was a reasonably good production the few times I listened to it commuting to work at silly o'clock on a Sunday morning. Very middle class and overly PC is my only criticism of it.

Strange comment. I seem to remember Dave Anderson regularly having a go at the queers and the muzzers :dk:

It was decent, felt a little condescending at times, and as others have said focused on the same clubs a bit much because of particular guests knowledge, but without a budget to get in lots of different guests with different knowledge or a remit to push the serious issues that exist it did a good enough job.

For me it was essentially just a podcast that happened to be broadcast. It isn't an expensive show to make at a guess, and not ridiculously technical either, a shame they can't just make it as a podcast purely and continue to put it out.

Also it was definitely a lot worse on the weeks where Caroline Barker wasn't there. As others have said she's a proper radio presenter with a good knowledge who genuinely cares about most of the things being discussed.
