Its been 18 months now ,get over it. Anybody who has a chance to progress their career, like Wilder did, would take it.
What position in the League were you when Wilder left, 4th ? and where did you finish at the end of the season 11th?, so you didn't miss him then did you. We then finished 10 places higher next season, about 8 places above you, oh and can you remind me what the result was last Saturday ? Appleton, who has a serial record of failure, might be a breath of fresh air but fresh air doesn't win games.
I'm glad you're happy with him, as I said you're welcome to him.
This is the same Wilder that couldn't get us out of this League in four attempts, despite having one of the biggest budgets under Thomas, and nearly fucked up getting us out of the Conference. Saturday was our first defeat in six months. How many have you lost during that time under king Wilder? He drove half of our fanbase away with his boring sterile brand of football, and chippy after match interviews, where nothing was ever his fault.
He's not the worst manager out there, but he is very limited and one dimensional. Also he has about a two year shelf life before he runs out of ideas and falls out with everybody. How are the multitude of loan signings going? And the injuries? Both Wilder trademarks.
As Dolph says, we were happy to get rid of Boothroyd but we're not still posting about it nearly 2 years later.... like I said before, get over it otherwise you will be all bitter and twisted.
As Dolph says, we were happy to get rid of Boothroyd but we're not still posting about it nearly 2 years later. On which thread do you slag off Waddock ? Or is it only Wilder that upset you because he left you and you can't get your head round the fact that anyone would want to leave Oxford to further their career. Colin Calderwood left us to go to Forest, these things happen, like I said before, get over it otherwise you will be all bitter and twisted. Ohhh maybe it's too late.
I think Eric`s being a bit precious over his present Oxford United team, they may well try and play the game the right way but the amount of misplaced passes i witnessed from them on Saturday only proved why their players are in this division.
Lose the rose tinted glasses Eric, this is english fourth tier football and every team has to mix it up a bit to survive in this league, including Oxford
Don't know why you're surprised - it's been nearly 10 years and he's still angry enough about the time we relegated them to the Conference that dear Eric is making dire threats of violence vis a vis our fixture in November. Hopefully he'll make it to November without bursting a blood vessel.
First league defeat in 6 months, of those 6 months only September had a full league program, a bit like saying you didn't lose a League game between 1939 and 1945, oh of course you were non league then.Agree with what you say about Saturday. But this was our first league defeat in six months and worst performance, from a depleted team. Don't judge us on that one game alone.

So you know all the ins and outs of why Wilder left Oxford do you ? You were 4th and on course for promotion and do you really think he would have been sacked after taking a non league team up to League One? You don't have a problem with Waddock because YOU sacked him its because Wilder could have stayed at Oxford or move to Northampton , it was his choice, and he chose to leave Oxford, that you have a problem.
