Last home game of a truly remarkable season this weekend, and we're gonna have a lovely trophy presentation! Can't wait to see Luton give us a guard of honour as well. Hope we don't lose, but we've not been at our best for a while, understandably don't think the players are at their all conquering levels from January-March. Hard to be so far ahead for so long.

Sell out home ends and I assume Luton have sold out too? Should be a good atmosphere and a few beers will be drunk. 3-0 Cobblers.

Concur with the above will be topping off a great season. Should be the biggest ever crowd at Sixfields as well. Hoping to sign off at home in style with a few goals.

Also if the game is half as good as the one down at Luton earlier in the season I will be buzzing. A 4-3 win with 2 of our goal of the season contenders. Genuinely didnt realise we had scored with that free kick at first.

Unbeaten run broken and a 2-1 loss to put a dampener on the proceedings?

It wouldn't put a dampener on my celebrations! Straight down the Welly Road to get battered

Be a good benchmark for us to see just how good our away form is against the best. Well done Cobblers on a great season on and off the pitch.

I could be wrong but last time our players had the ignominy of having to do the Guard of Honour and then watch the Opposition lift the Championship we romped to the title ourselves next time out.

We've not really been a proper test for the past few weeks, going through the motions a little bit. I'd expect Luton to win this one but who cares!

Can't wait for this one, managed to get a ticket. I think sixfields is going to be absolutely packed and whatever the result it's going to be an incredible day. What a season.

whatever the result and whatever the weather
the cobblers fans will come and congregate together
to celebrate their great achievement of being crowned champions of league two
when at one stage it looked as if they were in neck-high deep do-do!!
how many would've predicted the season would end this way
with northampton town not only winning but running away
the mid-season alarm of potential imminent bust
didn't sway the cobblers from their love and trust
who'd of guessed that things would end in tears
of joy and happiness.. not due to any other concern or fears
it just goes to prove that when push comes to shove
that sometimes miracles do happen with help from above
and no matter if the league has you in first, last or eighth....
always remember ......KEEP THE FAITH.....:brill:
well done..oakey

As an aside, a group of posters on Luton Outlaws have organised a Luton Fans XI vs Cobblers Fans XI charity game in memory of Rob Dunkley to be played before the match. He posted on Outlaws for years as well as on here and was very well liked.

Details are here for anyone who fancies going along:

Unfortunately it took us two seasons to do that - we did the guard of honour for Fleetwood, Mansfield won it the following season, then us.

Superb gesture. The biggest downside of this season is the sheer amount of loyal fans we've lost over the course of the year.

Anticipation building hours before the game around the stadium. Can't wait for now.

I'm still hoping for shaq to come out with kelvin at the end for the trophy celebration!

That, was pathetically easy. No fight in that Luton side at all. Superb day out watching that, and now I'm gonna get battered. First time I've seen us lift a league title, and I'm delighted.

Great performance, great celebrations and just all round great day. That will live long in the memory.

Loved listening to John joe afterwards "I appreciate the fans love, apparently because I own a caravan", what a guy!

Also hope Danny green is ok, looked nasty.

Easy game, especially loved the spell in the first half where we kept the ball for about 5 minutes. At least Luton tried to make a game of it in the 2nd half, should really have been 5-0 to us though.

Great celebrations afterwards.

23 games unbeaten.

For a promotion party yesterday, it wasn't much of a party inside Sixfields. First time I'd been there for about 10 years.

We've partied for the last 3 weeks, only so much you can do I guess. Mind you, it was good fun after the final whistle went and the game was out of the way.

What's happened to Luton fans, quiet at Kenilworth Rd earlier in the season and absolutely deadly silent yesterday, season of shite taken its toll?

Just watched the highlights, completely forgot the 19 pass move in that 10 square metres of pitch that ended with Hoskins shooting wide. Holmes, Rose and Buchanan completely took the piss at that point!

Well done Northampton. Amazing season. Was very surprised to hear that was your all time highest crowd. Always thought you were bigger Club than that
