Very different feelings in both camps for this one from the reverse fixture. Was at this one in October at Rodney Parade and it really felt like the end of our club, whole away end stayed in their seats 5 minutes after the game ended just clapping the players and staff. How different it is now. We are flying and Newport are safe, which I'm glad about as our group met some cracking people that day.

Think this will be a win, can't see us losing and who'd blame me? 2-0 Town and hopefully results go our way so we can get promoted at Mansfield.

Yep most probably a home win. Although if you have grass on your pitch we might give you a game plus no midweek fixture this week may recharge the batteries. We are pretty desparate for quality from front to back but really struggling up front with just Boden likely to pose any threat. Get the feeling club believes we have just about done enough to stay up but cant decide whether to use up funds this season to make sure or save it for August.
3-0 win for Northampton.

Come on Rog!! Nothing like showing the world how positive County fans are is there!!!
We have won at Portsmouth (3-0), Wycombe(2-0) and Bristol R (4-1) - as well as losing by the same score at home - drawn at Oxford and are 14 points clear of relegation. A bit more than 'done just enough to stay up'. After taking five points from our first 12 games (nine of which under the disaster that was Butcher) our record is P24 W9 D9 L6. No more 'desperate for quality from front to back' than any lower mid table League Two side! Saying that, expect Northampton to win but come on, we would have bitten your hand off for this at the time of the home match with Cobblers! By the way, well done, worthy champions.

At the time of the return match we'd have snapped your hand off to be a mid table team!!

How has Danny Rose been getting on, Cobblers fans? I had hoped he might come back to us in the window.

Fully expecting a Northampton win too but to be almost safe at Easter is fantastic given the mess Butcher made, so just going to enjoy the rest of the season for what it is. (Saying that, three points on Friday would be nice to be absolutely sure...!)

Danny Rose has done a decent job when required, not good enough to start ahead of JJOT or Joel Byrom but a decent back up.

Who knows what will happen here, our season has been mental and I think after the reverse fixture at Newport most of us thought we'd have no club to support. Marc Richards is fit and available again for this one but I'd expect him to start on the bench and we'll stick with Collins and Marquis up front.

Half time and both teams had their moments. Been impressed with Newport so far, sent a lot of men forward and caught as out a few times. Still think we will score at least 1 more though.

We won, we are gonna win the league, I'm not too bothered about a lacklustre performance. Well done Newport, played well and deserved to draw.

We played well and feel a bit hard done by, especially with Elito hitting the bar late on and a few near misses and decent saves. But have to admit it was a real quality finish to win the game, which is probably why Northampton are champions elect.

You lot need a bit more going forward, got into some good positions but couldn't finish it off or create a proper chance

We didn't play much differently to at Portsmouth two weeks ago when we won 3-0. Think our problem was not finishing off the chances. Ayina missed a great opportunity before half time, Elito hit bar as mentioned and Rodman flashed a shot across goal but agree we need more going forward going into next season. Marquis goal was a quality finish. Think you'll do well in League One

That Rodman fella was probably the best player on the park today

Newport definitely deserved something out of the game. I was really impressed with Elito - thought he ran the midfield in the second half. Newport played with no fear, they had nothing to lose and can take heart from the performance if not the outcome. At this stage of the season any win will do, especially at home where we don't look as comfortable. Nearly there now!!
