Figures don't tell the whole story. Germany were playing much better with a natural CF.
They tell you that they weren't 'struggling for goals' though.

No I must have remembered that wrong then. Maybe because as mistermagic they actually played better with the natural striker and my mind filled in the blanks because of that.

Put the same amount in a couple of minutes in a World Cup semi with a natural CF though.

The balance wasn't right at all though.

Portugal self destructed in the first game and Germany were poor against Ghana, USA and Algeria but got away with it. It's only when Löw finally switched Lahm back to right back and brought Klose in up front ahead of the France game that the team started looking like genuine contenders.

He's doing the same thing again, playing players out of position this time. Hopefully he's grasped the fact it's not working a bit earlier this time round, today was a positive step.

Yeah I don't argue that they played better once Klose came into the team but the original question was whether they struggled to score, they didn't. As you say they were poor in certain games including the one against Ghana yet they still managed to score twice.

If they go through, Northern Ireland play either Wales or France in the 2nd round. Both superb for different reasons.
