Cracking start to the season, three wins without particularly playing well at any stage.

Didn't watch Norwich yesterday, but apparently Wednesday had the better of the game. It's hard to judge them from that Blackburn game, because even Wigan put three past them yesterday; they seem to be just as shite as Bolton were last year.

Norwich's squad is still crammed with quality, not expecting anything at all here so if we manage to get a point I'd be delighted.

RoD

Matthews, Flint, Magnusson, Bryan;

GoN, Pack;

Kodjia, Tomlin, O'Dowda;

Abraham.

Tomlin needs to play centrally, Little never needs to play for us in this division again, and LJ needs to get it right from the start because if he doesn't (like he didn't against Wigan and Burton) Norwich won't be as forgiving and we'll be on the wrong end of a battering.

Norwich 3-1 City

Abraham with ours. 321 away fans.

Yep that's how I'd have it. Take a draw but think they'll nick it by the odd goal.

Can't see us winning this, we haven't played well for more than 20 minutes of a game so far. If we don't show a marked improvement for the other 70 I could see us getting a heavy defeat.

Would take a draw if you offered it now, predict an improved performance, losing 2-1.
If we don't play better I fear it will be 3 or more conceded and none scored.

Would get rid of the 4-4-2, drop Little and Brownhill.

Lee is clearly searching for his best side/formation at the moment and I think Norwich will exploit that.

3-0 home win for me.

Norwich on a Tuesday night *smh* I've always had a soft spot for Norwich and wanted to go to Carrow Road, but not on a Tuesday night!

Would snap your hand off for a point.

Why the negativity? This has got 6-0 to us written all over it...

Anything from this game is a bonus for us really, yes we're in form but Norwich will be a stern test and think we may come off worse 2-1 Norwich but a spirited performance from us giving positives ahead of Newcastle.

Hordur
Golbourne

Bryan's not a winger. It's been said numerous times. He won't play at left wing this season, he doesn't see himself as a left winger, neither does Johnson. He's an excellent full back.

Wouldn't say he was 'excellent' at full back, got caught numerous times last season while at full back, I would say his best position is wing back personally being given license to get forward as seen when we used wing backs in league 1. Feel away from home we may try and tighten up and from what I've seen Golbourne is more defensively sound. Against weaker teams Bryan at full back is still the option but against Norwich think Golbourne may get the nod, Bryan as left winger could see him drop back when possible too having more of a defensive presence.

I like the look of that team, but maybe Jimmy instead of Bryan (assuming he isn't going anywhere!)

Norwich have a weakness up front, so think we could nick a point here 0-0 or 1-1.

Being honest I'd use either Kodjia or Abraham, with the other brought on about the 75 minute mark against tiring legs. If we're losing we can move to 2 up top.

Agree. Only problem is out of the two of them, at the minute, I think you'd bench Kodjia. And that's a surefire way to convince him that maybe he is better off elsewhere.

But you've got to do what you think is best to win this particular game. And I'm slowly resigning myself to the idea that's Kodjia's off anyway

Hence why I left him out of my XI earlier in the thread, Tammy is in good form and you go with your striker in form, if Kodjia doesn't like it he needs to show his qualities again in whatever game time he does get.

I'm happy with everything Lee has done with the side apart from Little. Norwich will exploit him so badly.

Like that team bar Little obviously. Got players that can hurt Norwich. I'm going to change my prediction. We are going to nick it.

Interestingly the graphic thing on twitter has it as a 4231 with Kodjia on the right wing, as in JJH's post. Thought for a while Kodjia could be very effective as a wide forward, maybe even more so than up top (though on the left, cutting in on his right foot) but I'm not sure this is the game to try it.

Happy with that team. Pre season, and even now i think most people would write us off for this game, its a free hit and we are going for it.

Wow. This is a gamble. We'll either get completely battered or win something like 3-2!

It should be more solid than the flat 4-4-2 on Saturday which got overran. O'Neil and Pack can sit in, the Bryan/O'Dowda combination should work well down that left side. Only worry for me defensively is the right hand side. Agree though we certainly have a lot of outlets going forward.

Not then end of the world. Just lacking creativity it seems. Tomlin needs to start finding form.

On to Saturday.

Could've been worse, not concerned by that at all. Sounded very dull, struggled to create chances.

Poor second half performance. We were non existant as an attacking threat, but I'm not sure how much of that was down to the fact that Norwich are just a much better side than us rather than any glaring deficiencies in our team.

Last season we would have lost that game 4-0 so progress is progress.

Both sides hit the post multiple times and Flint hit the bar?

They forced a couple of saves from O'Donnell, we hit the post in the first half and then the bar with a looping header which was helped on its way by their keeper.

You're literally the only person who I've ever seen describe a game where both side hit the woodwork multiple times as dull.
