Is it just me - or has the overall amount of posting on this site really tailed off?

I see Allen is up to his usual mind games.
Saying how great the Notts County fans are is probably as much about heaping pressure on a manager at risk of the boot as it is genuine and telling everyone he intends to shuffle the pack usually means an unchanged side..

Allen did a reasonable job here, but will get a much better reception from our fans than he probably deserves. His behaviour was just odd.

Suspect we'll win this, we've been pretty consistent in running through sides outside the top seven at home. McLeod is back from suspension as well, which is useful. Missing Aborah though, which is a nightmare.

Not sure why County are odds against tonight. Perhaps a hangover from the live FA Cup game.

Our only two results away from home have been against an out of form Hartlepool and a crazy game at Oxford. Throw in a decent home record and I would have expected a price of about 4/6.

We're useless that's why. Don't quite know how bad the chairman wants results/performances to get before he gives Moniz the bullet, but he's clearly wanting to give him more time than he's given previous managers, maybe rightfully so after the money that's been spent. A home defeat/ draw against Barnet in front of about 2,500 home fans will surely be too much though.

Funny how our next two games are against 2 of the most popular Notts managers of recent times.

Yet the game against Carlisle in a couple of weeks is against a deeply unpopular one who did better than both of them. Football fans, eh?

Let's face it, Notts won't sack Moniz. Would make a mockery of the decision to appoint him or go down this so called Swansea, Watford route otherwise.

I blame a lot on the players myself. They do things that even in my 5 a side team you get a bollocking. General lack of football intelligence in our teams at times this season. Salford being a great case in point

Some shit is just odd, though. We've loaned out a perfectly good left back to our local rivals, are playing another one at centre back and seemed surprised that we have to keep playing people out of position at left back.

Stephens, Hoyte, Johnson, N'Gala, Yiadom, Weston, Togwell, Champion, Batt, Clarke, Stacey.

What the hell kind of team is that?
Both strikers dropped, one recognised centre back

Apparently had a penalty shout turned down in the first minute, now we're losing 1-0.

That's what you get when you play Hoyte at CB I guess.

What the fuck did we expect? MA seems to have drawn the starting XI out of a hat.

Feel sorry for those that travelled. Complete waste of time.

The lol Barnet was at the line up.

Genuine lol Barnet at the score.

I think Allen has lost it.

He fielded a similar bonkers line up at Wolves in the League Cup. We were torn apart then and it's happening again now, what makes MA think that playing backup players out of position is a good idea?

Barnet look drunk or something, very lucky not to be down to ten also.

Routine, 4-2 massively flattering to Barnet. They were saved from a real battering by some wayward finishing and two fluky deflected goals from them.

Sorry, but I'm with Martin Allen on this. What's the JPT for if not mixing things up?

Notts County have quick strikers so we drop Nelson and bring in a transfer listed right back to play in the middle because he's quick. Is Stead supposed to be the speed merchant as I know having watched McLeod for a couple of years first hand it is not him. Not sure what is wrong with playing deep and leaving no space in behind.

I never get the feeling that we are a well coached, well drilled team. Part of that is that we change personnel so often but it also looks like we give too much credit to the opposition rather than working on our shape and our disciplines. A record of 8 defeats out of 10 away games shows a lack of appreciation of how to play away from home.

That's a weird one, like you say, neither Stead or McLeod are particularly quick. Campbell and Snijders are, but they play out wide.

I got back early this morning. I knew it would end like that as soon as I saw the lineup.

In fairness, Hoyte played quite well at covering Stead. Batt went to jump for the ball several times and completely missed it. :ffs: Their players were disgusting. They were diving at every opportunity and play acting after every foul. Aborah and Stead were brilliant but the rest of their players seemed average. Aborah got injured in the way he fell over. He overreacted and hurt himself.

Notts County must be truly awful if we managed to score 2 goals against them with a lineup that bad. It was more about us be crap than them being good. We only really made a few chances at 3 nil down.

Lovely ground but with very little atmosphere. Looked empty with a crowd of around 3000. I thought 199 Barnet is very good considering our away form.

Oh well, there is always next week...

Christ.

Aborah got injured because of a late, high lunge, not 'the way he went down'.

Not saying Notts aren't awful, but...

Who the heck is Stacey??

At least we scored a couple of goals. A third consecutive blank would have been a concern.

Need a few more home wins to maintain the gap between ourselves and the bottom two. We should not be looking anywhere other than that this season imo.
