Not sure how the County fans see this game, but I'm sure Orient fans see this as a must-win if we are to mount a legitimate push for a play-off position. This is the first match in a more-gentle run of fixtures for the Os, having recently played Wycombe, Portsmouth and the Cobblers.

County on the other hand, find themselves in the midst of an inconsistent run of form, beating Luton and the Monkeys Hangers, but losing to the Minstermen in recent games. This is the start of a bleak-looking run of fixtures for County, seeing them face Accrington and Plymouth away after this home tie against the Os.

I love County. I spent 7 wonderful years in Nottingham and have been to the Lane countless times, however, I predicted them to struggle this season. In fact when County beat Orient in League 1 last year 1-0 at our place, it was the worst side I have ever seen us lose to (even including Crawley!!!), so I am not surprised by their current mediocre league position.

Orient play better away from home, will have a healthy following taking the short train up to England's best city, and the players will be keen to put the 4-0 defeat to the Cobblers behind them. Kevin Nolan's continued improvement, both on and off the pitch, is also highly relevant.

With all that in mind, I am predicting a 0-2 win for the visitors, Cheeky Gnandos to open the scoring, and Simpson to bag a late one when County push for the equaliser.

(by the way Orient fans, give Hooters / the Trip a miss and go to the Canalhouse instead, best pub in the city in my humble opinion, right on the canal, only about a ten minute walk from the ground tops. Probably about 10,000 beers on offer, and a fun urinal game in the gents!)

:10:

Nolan has to decide whether or not to drop himself and which formation to play.

Nigel Atangana will 100% come back into the team, not sure how many more changes will be made, wonder if Nolan will play himself in a 4-4-2?

I would go with:

Gnanduillet
McAnuff - Nolan - Simpson
Payne - Atangana
Shaw - Brisley - Baudry - Clohessy
Cisak
On the ball Clohessy pushes up as a wide midfielder allowing Simpson to push in as a centre forward.

I think that is Orient's best possible line up, with Hunt coming in against teams in the top half for more of a defensive foundation. Although I'm not convinced by him.

God knows what we'll do. Fullarton has made us much more defensive away from home which has sort of worked, but he didn't change it against Wimbledon at ML and that was a disaster.

Everyone would like to see Aborah back in, but more realistic is probably Noble into the centre for Smith and one of Campbell/Burke taking his place out wide.

Carroll (sigh)
Hewitt - MacKenzie - Hollis - Adams
Campbell - Noble - Thompson - Banton
Stead - McLeod

Apart from the front two who haven't lived up to expectations and the central midfield (who lack creativity without Aborah) that is painfully average.

I tried to create the thread for this, but must have put it in the wrong place (still new here!) Here's what I wrote yesterday:

I've lived here for 23 years and I can't endorse that opinion. Better than Derby, though.

Yeah Leicester is fine, but it's not even as good as Sheffield, let alone Nottingham. Agree, Derby is a terrible terrible place.

Losing to us would be thoroughly unacceptable. The idea of Simpson up against our defence is... not ideal.

Those planning to go to the canalhouse there is a beer festival on there so it could well be very busy. I know a lot of Notts fans going there pre-match.

I've worked in Leicester for a decade. It's a toilet and I'm happy to get back to Mansfield every evening.

Nottingham as a city wipes the floor with the place. They aren't even comparible. Though I've settled on the idea that the people of both cities are knob-sockets.

Enjoy the game!

What makes you say that? I'm brimming with confidence for the next few games.

Because we're shit when we're supposed to be good and vice-versa. The January signings were perfect for rectifying everything that was wrong with the side, we've got comfortably the best striker, midfielder and centre back in the division, Connor Essam & Ollie Palmer have both been ditched into reserve team obscurity, we're playing a shite midtable side with nothing to play for whose clown of a new manager has dropped their best player, most of their side isn't fit to lick Bradley fucking Pritchard's boots and we'll be playing in an excellent but mostly-empty stadium with a sizeable away following backing us and a dispirited home crowd who have watched their club circling the drain of anonymity for a decade or more who will be itching to get on John Stead's creaking, overpaid back.

Of course we're going to get dicked.

Oh, and everywhere in the East Midlands comes under the banner of 'It's alright. I guess. At least it's not Luton'.

I don't think Nolan knows his best XI, I was a bit concerned that it isn't him making the subs when he is actually playing and ist Hessentahler and Harrison - No wonder Sammy Moore ended up on the right of midfield last week........

Maybe it could be time to drop Shaw again and play Binnon-Williams, or play Clohessy at right midfield instead of Jhraldho-Martin?

Personally, I think we should go 4-4-2 and give Gnanduillet a start from the off, Simpson needs a strike partner next to him IMO.

Simpson has been heavily marked for a while now, but thats the way it goes when you're the leagues top scorer.

Essam and Palmer will be squad players for the rest of the season - Palmer is our 2nd highest goalscoer with 6 - so it does suggest we're to relient on Simpson. If only Cox wasn't injured for the rest of the season :(

For what is worth, at times under Nolan we have played some good football, but it will take time to build confidence in order to see that regularly.

Don't think we've got the knack or the know how for a top 7 finish myself, Nolan will need a full pre-season behind him in more ways than one before we can see how good a manager he is.

We will lose.

I think there should be quite a long queue of people who could do with getting out of the club,

People kicking off behind the Main Stand after that, Christ.

What a truly abysmal game btw, both teams brought shame upon football.

The worst game I've seen us play all season, both sides awful, no risks being taken, both sides players happy to launch the ball long every single time and putting it into touch.

For me Nolan is trying too hard to put himself into the side and its upsetting our balance, I don't see how he can play Sammy Moore out wide, he offered little there in terms of ability.

For us not to have Payne or James in the team, means there is nobody who can control the ball and pick a pass out and calm the midfield down. Nolan was poor today, Gnanduillet was shocking for us, he has had to wait to be given a start and he performs the way he did - albeit he wasn't helped by others around him.

We got a lucky win due to a scrappy goal from a poor goalkeeping error from Carroll.

We played better last week and lost 4-0. We're a huge anigma.

worrup in Wigun fo the rugby so I'm glad I missed this shite.

Trews need to sell up
Branston needs sacking and never allowed a job in football again
Fullarton needs dropping in a canal attached to an anvil the weird boring c***.

I agree with that. Nolan has undoubted quality and his intelligence is obvious however he is clearly massively unfit... In a 4-4-2 the central midfield duo should be Atangana and Payne or James when he's back. I'd be more in favour of playing a 4-2-3-1 with Nolan in behind if we were to insist on playing him.

Now I genuinely don't know what I'm missing with Sammy Moore, I would prefer Pritchard in the middle and Turgott out wide... The only real plus side to his game is that he's very good at retaining the ball. It's also a massive negative as well, whenever he's in a decent position to try and create something the opportunity is missed as he takes the safe option, the attacking flow breaks down and the opposition can reorganise itself.

Also presuming Shaw was dropped again and not injured? If so that's massively harsh. Wasn't his biggest fan at all during the opening stages of the season, but since Chicksen left I think he's really upped his game and there actually looks to be some talent there. Mentally he has progressed a good amount.
