Let's get the local derby thread started early shall we!?!

Carrol

Hewitt
Bennett
Audel
Swerts

The formation at Stevenage looked dangerous and we played it brilliantly.

However, at home. Two up front please.

3-1 Win for Notts. Our squad is just too strong.

8,400 with 3000 from Mansfield.

Given County's massive ground , is there a way more Mansfield can get in ....? When Darlo was around I couldn't get a ticket cos it was sold out , yet 15000 empty seats were visable

Been 3,500 so far but the stand holds 5000. Last count i heard were 1,400 on Friday at 2PM i suspect a lot of people would have got tickets yesterday. I expect 2000+.

Yeah tickets won't be an issue, not sure we can realistically give more than 5,000 but they won't need that.

Really looking forward to this, we haven't had a proper local derby in the league for ages and being Friday night and under the lights gives a bit of an extra edge.

I hope and think that we'll be too good but Green's pace could be a real factor against our high line.

Would expect more home fans than that too - we'd ordinarily get that for the first game whoever and it being Mansfield will get a few more in.

Notts County have built there ground in a way all medium to small clubs should , naturally a central location helps , but accepting that you'll get more away fans than most is good thinking , Pools can have 1100 away fans which 95 % of the time is fine , it's just when the other 5% happens I can kick me self

I'm actually really looking forward to this, good local derby, Friday night under the lights & hopefully a decent atmosphere.

Result wise, I've got a horrible feeling Notts will turn on the style a bit, first home game & they'll be right up for it. Our defence looked very shaky in the first half too, although they improved second half. I'm going 4-1 Notts, really really hope I'm wrong though.

Won't be 4 - 1. No chance.

Should be interesting, again it's so early in the season that you can't really read much into this game.

Still not sure our defence is that great. I think on the bigger pitch Mansfield should test us in a different way to Boro on Saturday which was basically head tennis by the sounds of things.

It's also a mystery who will play. Hopefully not Alan fucking Smith.

Yeah, it crushed me when I found out Smith was injured as I was ecstatic he wasn't in the squad. It's a weird one, he's not just a bad footballer like a few we've had in recent years - he's clearly at a stage where he simply shouldn't be playing the game anymore yet I'm worried Moniz doesn't recognise that just like Derry didn't - despite the fact I've never seen a fanbase more unanimously of the opinion that a player is simple past it. I expect him to play Tuesday however, which would probably rule him out of starting on Friday...that and the fact we literally have 5 central midfielders who are vastly superior in every way.

Friday will be interesting. I'm intrigued by this team now we know what they're capable of, the next hurdle is consistency and if we can grind out results etc... Rather than being a 'if we turn up we'll murder you, if we don't then we're for the taking' type team.

We've sold 2000 tickets now, More than what I thought would go to this. So hopefully a good game and a great atmosphere but I'm worried we may lose this one. Wouldn't be surprised to see the team stay the same from Saturday, I'd start Jack Thomas as he actually likes to run at players and has the desire to get into the box and he would offer some support the Matt Green up top. Chapman is a deep midfielder and Clements is never going to pick the ball up and drive into the box. For a local derby I'd play Chapman-Rose-Thomas in the middle.

What train is everyone catching from Mansfield?

I thought we'd take 1,500 to be honest, it'll probably be 2,500 now. Thomas in for Clem and I'd like to see two up top.

Have the glory days of you randomly bringing 4,000 left us behind? :(

After everything we've been through over the last 7-8 years will take a while to heal especially after last seasons pathetic effort attempt at football. I've heard a lot aren't wanting to pay the prices along with the police moving it to Friday night.

Jake - I know jay and ben are getting the 12.10 from mansfield I think - I will be in for about 1. So give either of those 2 a shout.

Having missed the loss in the dulux dog cup last season ive still never saw us lose against county at meadow lane - I dare say this will be massively under threat friday.

We need more from our midfield and green will need more help if we are to get anything realistically. A good time to potentially catch them on the hop maybe?

2-1 county

Pretty sure we'll go out and dominate but I could easily see a repeat of that random 1-0 win you got at Chesterfield a couple of years ago.

Westcarr will fucking score, hopefully he'll refrain from the antics he got up to after bagging for us over the river. Hopefully there's someone at the club who remembers how to wind Pearce up as well.

I'm going to catch a train between 2/3 from Woodhouse, might go out after the game too. Not quite sure what Nottingham is like on a friday though!? Only ever been on a Saturday.

You have to make County favourites, I believe County and Mansfield have been two of the busiest clubs this summer so it's hard to predict really.

Hopefully Murray leaves out our top players tomorrow at Wednesday.

Haha that was bloody epic, that said the sheer hatred between the 2 (well some) is a completely different to the almost friendly rivalry we have with you. We used about half a seasons luck in that game.

I'm also concerned about murrays nativity in his tactics, it could hold us back somewhat - though hope im wrong

Turns out one of county or forest could have played Saturday after the Aussie batting order fell faster than the French army.

He wouldn't say boo to a goose. One of his problems was he was a bit too laid back.

Yeah, wound up was entirely the wrong way of putting that. It's very easy to get in his head, I think, has a tendency to go completely awol.
