With regards to Ashton United . Are the 2 clubs Ashton Town & Athletic all from the same town ? These 2 clubs are in the NW Counties league.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Ashton United are in Ashton under Lyne there are also curzon Ashton in that area.

Ashton town is in an Ashton near Wigan am unsure with athletic but not same areas.

But Mossley, droysden, Hyde, Ashton United, curzon Ashton and Mossley are all within one Manchester borough Tameside.

Saying that Avro fc in Oldham are frankly 5 minutes drive from the two Ashton clubs

Fun fact about Avro, their name comes from the aircraft manufacturer who are named after their founder, Alliott Verdon-Roe, a prominent member of Oswald Mosley's British Union of Fascists Party.

Macclesfield must be spending batsh*t levels of cash this summer more than recent seasons chasing promotion, they really have to be careful they don’t go bust, this isn’t like the championship where the reward if promoted is a sh*t load of income there isn’t any massive financial gain going from northern premier into the conference north and they’d get up eventually due to size of the club just by keeping to a budget.

Their risk is mass overspending to get up here then find the money pot gone once at this level or next one when cash is needed.

Doesn’t even mean they will go up, they bought our two best conf north players last summer and ruined both of them…..players dropping for cash doesn’t always equate into hard work and teamwork.

Agree, don’t need to spend anywhere near the amount they are to get out of that league. Can’t see who is going to challenge them next season, maybe Worksop and Guiseley as an early guess.

Would be better off saving as much money as they can for the bigger challenges down the line, they’re wasting it where they are. Get to the National League, even the NLN to a lesser extent and you need to be either really rich or really shrewd, ideally both, to succeed. Macc certainly aren’t the latter and they’re being unnecessarily frivolous with the former at the moment as well.
