Good to see us put in our best performance for ages and still manage a moment of total comedy at the end. That penalty.

I think we're overcoached.

I've been there as an unintelligent sunday league player. Too many instructions. "Where does he want me to go now?" Type thing, instead of just playing on instinct. That can look like laziness and make you miss out on second balls etc.

We've got a team full of pretty well established pro's who pretty much to a man had solid careers so far at Lower league or National League level, they know the basics.

Rusk is a youth team manager trying to play youth team football with pro's who are proven at 4th/5th division level and are too old to mould and change.

We need a manager who fits their profile.

Rawlinson practically takes Sarcevic’s head off! As has been said before, he was on a yellow at the time - it was certainly a second yellow at the very least. Wouldn’t have fancied facing those two corners without him!

We’re similar in that sense though, but we looked like we knew what we were doing. Lots of people have questions about Burchnall’s often mad tactics, but one thing he’s definitely achieved here is improving individuals, loads of whom fit that experienced pro mould.

Rusk strikes me as a classic example of the good-coach-bad-manager thing that you often see when academy coaches and assistants step up. Not got the personality for it.

Not see much evidence he's even a good coach. He's not improved one player.

I think you or Wooderson said it earlier, nail on the head for me- our players aren't buying into it. And that is the start and end of it tbh. There's not much way back from that.

He's only here still because there's no replacement lined up and we have a game tomorrow night.

Don’t think it was me mate. But it did look that way. Looked a team of individuals on Saturday rather than a collective.

Have to admit, I've always been on the fence with Lenny but these "brings a lot to the side" arguments are wearing a bit thin for me. DN35 pod saying that if you don't appreciate what he "brings to the side" then you don't know about any of the complexities of the game? Get to fuck. I know full well what his positive attributes are and how he helps the team, I just don't think that they should overshadow his shortcomings of which there are a multitude. Just as his shortcomings shouldn't overshadow what he does well.

That's ridiculous. Whoever has made that call needs to have a word with themselves.
Absolutely spot on, such a ridiculous put down that those in the LJL camp use to make others look stupid and trying to make themselves into these football hipsters.

Also helps them hide the fact that he has serious flaws, they did it in favour of players like Gibson and Ira Jackson last season too

I don't know where Asante fits into the puzzle with Rowe and Tshimanga doing so well together. It'll be nice to have him as an option though won't it. The others are huge misses especially non league Grealish, oh Mandy just isn't a replacement. Wish I coulda gone today but we're away at Blackpool to see the lights with the young ens. Kabongo just different gravy ain't he

3 up top is the only option. All too good to put on the bench.
Aye it’s simple as, 3 up top with Rowe potentially slightly deeper than Tshimanga and Asante. God that sounds good..

Personally I know what he brings to the side and I know what his big weaknesses are. I also think his positive attributes are worth it to the team despite his obvious weaknesses.

However if you think you can convince me that Hanson should have been kept on over LJL then you can also get to fuck. :cool1:

I'm afraid right now, the stats don't lie on this one! More mins and more goals (ones from open play) to Hamez' name than LJL. No but seriously, I fully admit Hanson was obviously a bigger risky injury history wise. I wonder what would have happened had LJL not been given an 18 month deal and they had both been out of contract in the summer though. Hanson could be doing a job for anyone at this level.

Stats splats. Hanson was part of a town side that narrowly avoided relegation and then did get relegated. He offered nothing other than how to head a ball.

LJL was top scorer for us in a non league side that narrowly missed promotion and then came in last season when we improved massively for half a season and still got top scorer! And very much part of a side that is currently top of the league, while Hanson plys his trade at a mid table NLN side

Loach
Kerr Gunning Maguire
King Oyeleke Weston Miller
Asante Rowe Tshimanga

Its the midfield that becomes tricky - Oyeleke, Weston, Khan, Clarke and Kellerman all probably deserving of a start in CM when all fit.

Oyeleke and Weston would be my starting two in there. I think Khan is preferred higher up by Rowe in that number 10 type position so would probably be in competition for place in starting XI with Rowe & Clarke!

To be honest, with how many injuries we’ve had recently, it will be nice to actually have some options to rotate again once all are back!!

Those bolded bits are definitely debatable opinions, but the rest are pure cold hard facts admittedly.

Typical LJL miss but why is the best player in the league passing from that position?
It's a shit pass as well. Obviously should score, but makes him really stretch for it.
While we're here though, this angle to me shows that McAtee made the right choice with his pass. 7mins30secs for the definition of on a plate:

Yeah I already said that above about it being on match day Moments, wouldn't say it was correct to pass ( debatable, a striker in tha t position should be shooting imo) but it deffo wasn't a bad pass like the other angle showed.

Definitely a debate to be had, you want your strikers to be hungry and shooting but if it's the toss up between a likely goal and an almost certain goal then for me you square it every time.
