Fuck the playoffs, couldn't care less about them seeing as were not in them :2thumb:

So SkyBet have released their odds of winning the title and relegation for next season. Some teams like Hull, Sheff Wed and a League 1 team aren't included, but I'll update it when they are.

CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE ODDS 2016/17 (SOURCE, SKY BET)

Newcastle 3/1
Norwich 8/1
Villa 14/1
Brighton 14/1
Cardiff 18/1
QPR 20/1
Wigan 20/1
Brentford 20/1
Ipswich 22/1
Reading 25/1
Leeds 25/1
Birmingham 25/1
Huddersfield 25/1
Preston 25/1
Nottingham Forest 25/1
Blackburn 28/1
Bristol City 28/1
Fulham 28/1
Wolves 28/1
Burton 50/1
Rotherham 66/1

CHAMPIONSHIP RELEGATION ODDS 2016/17 (SOURCE, SKY BET)

Burton 6/4
Rotherham 9/4
Preston 4/1
Wolves 9/2
Blackburn 5/1
Leeds 5/1
Brentford 11/2
Fulham 11/2
Nottingham Forest 11/2
Bristol City 11/2
Huddersfield 11/2
Wigan 6/1
Birmingham 7/1
Cardiff 7/1
QPR 8/1
Reading 10/1
Ipswich 10/1
Villa 14/1
Brighton 16/1
Norwich 40/1
Newcastle 40/1

I think we'll have a shit season, but nowhere as bad as the bookies are making it out to be. If we sign a good striker (along with about 10 other sides in the league) it can be the difference between finishing 20th or in the playoffs.

6 teams at better odds to be relegated (add the play off winner) and same odds as 4 others.

Villa at 14/1......

Infact just put £5 on Villa being relegated, 15/1 on Sky Bet (being a member added the extra 1) potential £75 return.

Burton at 6/4 to be relegated is a good way to make money surely? Only problem is having to wait for nearly a year for it to come in.

Burton more likely to win the title than Rotherham?

On the same day its announced that Warnock won't be extending his contract?

SERNWA is going to have a meltdown.

Fulham at 28/1 They've still got shedloads of money from parachute payments and Shahid Khan. A manager that's won promotion from the league. Generous price that for me, can see them coming close like Brighton have this season if they sign well in the summer.

14/1 for both the title and relegation... To be fair, I'd say they're about as likely as each other, so that's fair. If our rumoured Chinese bidder turns out to be all he's rumoured to be (and I strictly say RUMOURED) that 14/1 for us to win the title may be a shrewd move. If we fail to get sold, or get sold to another crook, by all means, get on the 14/1 for us to be relegated.

How can there be 7 teams less likely to win the league than us, but only 2 teams less likely to be relegated?

I'd be surprised. I fancied them to do well at the start of last season before things went awry under Symons and then tipped them again after Jokanovic took over but something's not been right with their recruitment, squad seems really unbalanced. Spent a fair whack on a number of centre halves as well but still concede a silly amount of goals which has been their main issue.

As for us, Hughton's just signed a new long-term deal and will hopefully get the continued backing from Bloom to keep the current squad (or the bulk of it at least) together and add to it this summer, so am quietly confident about next season. Club feels extremely stable at present having had a lot of upheaval in the few years prior to Hughton's arrival.

Not sure what to expect from the relegated sides, as ever a lot will come down to having the right man at the helm who knows what's required in the Championship. Definitely in the case of a club like Villa, at least, who obviously haven't experienced this level of football for donkeys years.

11th most likely to win it, 6th most likely to go down. Sums us up really!

The latter more likely based on how things look right now, but I'd still pile on a mid-table finish again.

19th and 17th the past two seasons, relegation form since October, yet we're joint fifth favourites for the title?

Still think we're a great outside shot at relegation. If we don't bring in a decent striker we're down.

Barely ever won a bet in my whole life. I jinx bets. I put money on Spurs to win the PL at 16/1 a couple of months back when they were relentless and look what happened. Fuck Ranieri and Vardy. I'M the reason Leicester won the league.

I think I'm going to come up with a sizeable amount of money I'm prepared to happily lose if the unthinkable happens and lump it on us to go down.

I know you shouldn't bet against your own team but my excuse is I'll use the winnings to pay for next years season ticket.

I'm doing it for the good of the club :hesk:

To be honest they were always going to struggle at the start of this season due to Symons being manager. He was obviously a poor manager and having seen us play Fulham that season in April, they were an absolute mess under him. The reason I use the Brighton comparison is because despite a good CV Hughton hardly set the world alight in the half season since he took over (even we managed to beat you). But once he was able to bring his own players in last summer and have a full pre season with the team, you've reaped the benefits. For me there's no reason why Jokanovic couldn't potentially do the same with Fulham, he'll certainly have the money.

Haven't their parachute payments finished now?

They were relegated the season after us, so they've still got another two years of parachute payments to come. The three clubs who don't receive any for the first time this summer are Blackburn, Bolton and Wolves.

Sheffield Wednesday are the bet if they stay down imo. Not that they'll be a big price.

Don't Bolton get some from being relegated from the Championship? Or is it only for the Premier League?

Think its just relegation from the premier league, however in league 1 the way wage limits and finances work is different and seems more accommodating.

Probably both about right for us. We won't trouble the top 6 without several fee paying signings. Relegation odds are about right that in the sense that only 4 sides have longer, a McCarthy side will never be relegated from the second tier.
