Good to see us score some goals yesterday, and I'm not thinking too much about the poor defence on show yesterday as they were mainly fringe players.

Fancy us to get a much needed win here.

Connor Ripley

Josh Law - Peter Clarke - Cameron Burgess - Charles Dunne

Lee Croft - Paul Green - Ousmane Fane - Ryan Flynn

Billy McKay - Freddie Ladapo
2-0 Latics

3 points here and we can actually call it a decent start. Ladapo is in which gives us a much needed boost up front.

1-0 Latics with Mckay to grab his first league goal.

That Oldham team looks good on paper. Has your budget increased this season?

Papers were reporting we were prepared to increase it by 50% if Steve Evans had taken the job. I would guess it is slightly higher than last year but again that's only a guess.

It's not a bad team in all honesty, just that because Robinson had less than 4 weeks to put it together before the start of the season, we've been playing catch up so it's all a little rushed. I'm optimistic we'll do OK this season providing we can keep Ripley, Clarke & Green fit.

Mellon is coming under increasing pressure to deliver, he desperately needs a result on Saturday to relieve some of that pressure. Maybe, given our abysmal home form, an away game is what is needed right now, time will tell.

This, and the game at Bury the following Saturday, will be games our fans will consider to be games where it's not unreasonable to expect some kind of result.

I'm sticking by my opinion that this side is better then what we had last season, so far it just seems they're not settling, and based on the collapse against an average Gillingham side last week, they don't seem to have a set of bollocks between them.

Whether a different set of staff would get more out of these players is debatable, but there's plenty of options and talent going forwards so let's hope it starts to click into place.

Possibly the worst refereeing performance I have ever seen. Was speaking to a couple of Shrewsbury fans at the bus stop and even they couldn't believe some of the decisions.

They were probably agreeing out of politeness being pleased with the 3 points.

Clearly a penalty under the new rules and surprising the lad who was sent off did not get subbed as it was clear he was in danger of being sent off given his performance!

The wrong tactics by MM nearly cost Shrews 3 points though!

Was a penalty and a red card undoubtedly. However Peter Clarke was twice halled over in the same fashion as your lad and nothing given. No consistency.

Couldn't make it Saturday but a good three points and good to see us start taking some of our chances. Lack of confidence and belief throughout the team and staff resulted in us dropping further and further back even against 10 men, but we got the job done in the end, shame Grimmer couldn't finish his chance as we could have saved all the drama by going 4-1 ahead.

As with the earlier win against Chesterfield, an important and timely three points but an unconvincing performance. Whether Town can build on this result or whether it will be another false dawn like Chesterfield remains to be seen.
