Macclesfield, you any good? Genuinely have no idea what will happen this season.

We're decidedly 'alright'. And that's as bullish as I'll get. Fairly solid at the back, lots of pace going forwards but no one to stick it in the net. Notoriously bad on opening day.

1-1

Lincoln will PULVERISE us as we begin our descent to Conference South with no money and then no Garry Hill when the board take forever to sort a new contract out.

Yeah, not too bad. We have a brilliant defence, although we are lacking in goal scorers to win games. We should manage a top half finish. Tomorrow's game will be low scoring, most likely to be either a draw or a narrow home win.

We're a bit of the opposite at the mo, defence looks a bit vulnerable with Gus going to Barnsley, havn't got anyone in yet. Up front, we look very decent, Bliss & Williams I fancy to cause problems, Sparks to supply from the wing.

Aldershot at home 1st up and time to see how good they are in the air.... for a team of giants we actually play the ball about quite well on the ground too... Unless the Aldershot right back is very quick he'll be roasted by Jordan Williams and probably booked within the first 20-25 mins. Am expecting a 3-1 win - goals from Hannah, Moussa Diarra and Jordan Williams - crowd somewhere around 2,000

Our right back is both both quick and a very decent defender so I'm not concerned. We are also very quick going forward, our main weapon this year will be pace on the counter against teams like yours.

If you try and go long through the middle you'll get nowhere either. Fully expecting we will get something out of this, the direct type hoofball teams usually need a few games to sort their shit out so I'm reckon we'll catch them before they are organised.

1-1

Tough trip for us to relegated Altrincham to start the season. I'm expecting them to be one of about 8 teams with realistic chances of top 5 so will be tough. But we've got a good and fairly settled squad. I'd take a score draw now tbh. But still hoping we can get the win.
We have absolutely no idea how it will go, virtually a new side, almost the opposite to Darlo, who will get a very friendly welcome from the few Alty fans who arent on holiday:dk:

It's been quoted in our paper never beaten Maidstone in the 6 games against each other,I went to the game at yours in which you won 5-4
As was I! I remember being up 5-2 with you coming back to 5-4 and hitting the bar late on. Good times. No bearing at all on tomorrow's game of course, but fun to think about. I don't see us scoring 5 in any one game this season!

Edit: found highlights!

I'm impressed that pitch produced 9 goals! Your 4th goal...

16 years of hurt end tomorrow as Sutton United return to the Conference proper. Playing Solihull is effectively a regional division charity shield. We've kept most of the championship squad together (although a league club has put a bid in for Dan Wishart) which is encouraging. No offence to Solihull but it's a good chance to hit the ground running

If Southport can deal with our front three I will be impressed. Cue a 0-0.

We shall see if this is the case on Saturday, and indeed this season.

Preparing for the inevitable Delano Sam-Yorke hat-trick.
All set up by Jake Caprice...
1-1 really can't see us winning, cos we never do v Woking.
Just waiting to hear that Woking have signed 3/4 lads on loan from league sides who will run rings round as is usually the case.

Going for a 1-1 draw, DD to steal a point for us late on and send us top for a couple of hours, if only on a technicality.

I'd take a draw now if i'm honest. I have a gut feeling Barrow will do very well this season so anything we can get up there is a bonus. First game of the season though so anything can happen, good to have football back!

The Shaymen trundle down to Nonentity Town tomorrow, getting a particularly joyless away day out of the way early. Several players are doubtful for us, hopefully meaning our injury crisis is also getting itself out of the way for another season. Our fans are already comparing our new manager Billy Heath to Shankly, Ferguson and Clough combined, but personally I reckon owt could happen.

I think Braintree at home is possibly the best chance for a win. Huge overhaul for both sides but dont think there will be much in it

Got a feeling we'll either win 2-1 or lose 4-1 and no idea which. I think Barrow's route one game will be tough for us but with our forward line and Waddock in chance I fancy us to outscore anyone in this league.

I don't think we'll be as route one as most people think - we haven't got a Rhead or a Parkin, and some decent footballers have been brought in, plus two very good passing midfielders for once. A tactic of ours does seem to be knock it out wide for our big winger to head into Hannah's path though.
I can see us resorting to long ball if we're losing, but expecting to see some good football from us as well this season.

That said, Diarra looks a bit of a weak link at the back, and I can see a pacy striker running rings around him. Ever the pessimist, I can see us losing today.

You've set up a Direct Debit to buy wins, smart as it spreads out the payments.

Those goalposts at Maidstone look tiny.

Not much quality on show at Maidstone apart from Greenhalgh.
And whoever did Yorks numbers - wonky, different heights on their backs, peeling off.

Edit: One thing we don't want peeling off is Brodie's shirt. Looks like a bag of spuds shoved down there.
