Just came to laugh at FGR and tell Wrexham that Kayden Jackson is bloody ace.

Far from the finished product but lots of potential, I think league football will suit him more than all the hoofers and hackers in this league. Credit to Mills for finding him.

Saw that he took his goal well and hit the post with another, the end of the season finish with us would have done his confidence a whole load of good as last pre season he didn't look like he could play like that at all, Mills saw that in him though and credit to him. Didn't see any sign of Vose though? Already out of the managers plans?

He has the potential to be really good. If he'd have stayed with us then there is a good chance he'd have got a decent amount of goals this season. As Master D said though L2 might suit him better (particularly after watching our forwards wrestling match with the Dover defenders yesterday) Glad his move to Barnsley worked out for him and I think a loan spell at you lot was a cracking move. Good luck to the lad.

The main thing for us will be keeping expectations in check if we score quite a few tomorrow, which I reckon we will obviously. It's important that we don't start thinking this league is too easy.

Got to concentrate on every game. If we do and everything clicks, wow.

He's just what we've been missing. Electric pace and constantly going towards goal, he's still pretty raw, if he made the right choice everytime he'd had scored a hat trick and we'd have won about 7-0.

Vose I've no idea, not seen him play yet. Scored a worldie in pre season by all accounts. We have a few players of his mould but not enough wingers, so I'm guessing at the minute it's whoever Hurst feels will work better on the wing (Berret) and the rest fitting in around as and when. Sure if he gets in and performs as he did with you guys, he'll stay in.

Yes his pace is incredible, he needs it as well because he's quite lightweight, but he'll build himself up more in time, he is raw though like you say, not great decision making at times and needs to work on his finishing, but he took it well yesterday.
Vose is a hard one, he has undoubted ability and is one of the best footballers I've seen play for Wrexham, it's his ability to play for the team that is lacking. If Hurst likes his players to get stuck in and fight for each other every game, then that's your reason why Vose isn't playing.

The worst performance by a FGR team for a few seasons.
BW could have scored three, they completely dominated the game.
Only pleasing site was that around 1/4 to 1/3 of those attending game were FGR supporters. But with performances like that FGR will be lucky to get more than half a dozen fans at away games.

The gate was a paltry 504, so if 1/4 or even a third were for FGR that's still only 125-170 odd for a game that's around 100 miles away?

Do FGR have a 'style' of play, so to speak? From the outside, and albeit after one game, it feels like you've recruited a bunch of really good strikers who might not actually be adept at playing with eachother (although obviously they won't all be playing at once)

Never got up and running against Macc, fair play to them though they were in control for the majority of the match. Not a lot the keeper could do for either of the goals too.

Have big hopes for that boy. He's got a sweet, sweet left foot as I'm sure you'll come to witness. Was sort of hoping we might loan him out to a FL club but I'm sure he'll still learn plenty at Dagenham. Look after him, cheers.

I reckon John Still was a big factor. Not many better lower league managers to progress young players

120 miles, over 2 hours travel, attendance not good compared to other teams but brilliant for FGR.

Happy with a score draw away at altrincham. I think they will be top 10 come the end of the season and being new to the division every game.is a bit of a lesson. Sounds like Burgess, Marrs, Turnbull, Mitchell and Gillies all looked good for us.
I think Mark Beck was missed (couldn't play awaiting international clearance.from the Welsh FA). His height gives us a different option to our other strikers and will help us to compete physically. Plus I think with the delivery of Gillies, Mitchell, Thompson and Nightingale (plus Galbraith from set pieces) he will get plenty off balls swung into dangerous areas to attack.

Has Chris FGR still not been found yet? :/

I know Boreham Wood's fans have a reputation, is he banged up? Does 1FF have enough funds to post his bail?

Woking had a 5/10-minute spell at the end of the first half and a 10/15-minute spell at the start of the second half. Aside that from they were very poor. They couldn't deal with our long throws, free kicks and corners and our first goal just came from a long punt up to Rhead from Farman. So yeah, we were long ball but it would have been stupid not to given their ineptness at the back. Second half we pressed and countered from the front a lot more.

We played well to be fair but there's still a lot to work on. Waterfall, McCombe and Beevers especially struggled at times.
Luckily, two of those three aren't likely to be playing soon. I expect Raggett to be in for Waterfall by the weekend and Wood back at RB with Power returning soon.

Good turn from Marriott for the goal. Nice to kill two birds with one stone with an away win and one against Woking.

Typical Eastleigh performance, good for one half and poor for the other.
2-0 up at half time, we either took our foot off the pedal, or Guiseley finally got going, really a bit of both in truth.
They really could have gone home with a point in the end, and if they had, there wouldn't have had too many Eastleigh fans disagreeing with that result. Guiseley are probably going to be one of the poorer sides in the division, who just have the big lump Rankine up top, but he will bully a lot of defences and could keep them up.
Early days, and 3 points is what was needed. Better to come from us.

That's always been the FGR way (at least since they've been bankrolled).

1. Buy all the best strikers available, either to play them or to stop other people buying them.
2. Try to play 5 strikers at once
3. Ruin said strikers
4 F**k up and fail

You reap what you sow unfortunately, some of your fans needed reigning in.
We've got one annoying fan, who happens to post on this forum, whom you all egg on - it's like picking on a kid with special needs.

We've got four senior strikers, same as Lincoln, and not sure many clubs we're banging down Murphy or Tubbs door (not after his exploits at Eastleigh last season) from what I hear. Whether we ruin them under this manager remains to be seen, but Doidge looked ok yesterday, Murphy looked v poor, Tubbs came on but hardly had a chance beside one tough header.

I'd have Murphy over Doidge although I think they could be a good little partnership. Never really seen Tubbs have a good game but there must be a good player there somewhere given what he has done previously.

Taylor Miles broke his ankle in a challenge after coming on as a sub at the weekend, so he'll be out for 3 months or so.

That leaves us with, currently, Alex Woodyard as our only available CM. Well, there's transfer listed Craig Stanley but he's not involved in the first team. Power is injured, although I suspect he may be risked tomorrow.

Mind you, Woodyard and Wood in midfield as on Saturday wouldn't be bad. Desperately need a couple of CM's now.

According to the echo Cowley said we are looking at someone who has played about 350 FL games and spent second half of the season in India, would imagine he is a CM, it also mentions that Hawkridge and Power are back in training so could be available tomorrow night.

To be fair they looked a good combination in preseason. Doidge won everything in the air and Murphy's movement was excellent to get on the end of his flick-ons and the balls from midfield.

But it's amazing what a bit a pressure in a competitive game does (and by pressure I don't mean opposition defensive pressure but psychological pressure).

Murphy was very poor on Saturday. Early on he was passed a ball on the edge of the box that gave him a great chance to burst through on goal and shoot on his left foot but he second guessed himself, checked back on his right and had the ball nicked. Likewise Doidge had a chance to shoot 8 yards out (this was shown on BT Sport) but took a touch instead of hitting it first time and his shot was blocked. In preseason they both backed themselves and would probably have scored.

Our Marcus Williams fits that description but he's not a CM.
