Didn't see the handball incident, but I'm almost certain that the ball didn't cross the line. I think your player has stated post match that it didn't, so that's that.

I don't think you'll find many Carlisle United fans denying that you deserved something from the game. In my opinion you deserved all 3 points. We were atrocious.

Was the crossing the line thing the one where all the Barnet fans cheered, we thought they'd scored, then next thing we were on the counter attack and I was thinking, what the fuck just happened.

Fairs HG.

Couldn't see from my angle so it would be unfair to comment either way on my part.

Thought that McQueen was classy, couldn't understand why he didn't start. Also liked the look of Hery and Asamoah - some very good players there.
I think Curle sees something in Thompson... he's feeling his way to full fitness and I think Curle thinks he'll do well when fully fit... although not if expected to defend he won't, Would have preferred McQueen starting myself. Had Troy not been injured though I'm sure Miller would have been the wing-back on that side.

I cannot say on most of the dodgy decisions as those officials seemed incompetent the whole game.

I thought the pen was a pen at the start, then was a shot saved by our goalkeeper and their player was miles offside, then couple of times we looked onside and given off, etc, etc think both could have numerous complaints on officials today.

Yep... Still can't believe Gash somehow missed that.

He made such a hash of it.

It's worth noting that we only conceded one goal during minutes that David Atkinson has been on the pitch... with Troy back in the first team, Raynes feeling his way into the new style of football (no more boomsville) and Curle on the lookout for defenders... Leacock perhaps I have hope that we can fix things at the back. Only problem is that nothing is going to dislodge Grainger from his starting position.

6 assists for Grainger this season, decent stat considering he's (meant to be) playing centre-half.
I agree he's a bit of a liability defensively though.

Would Barnet fans mind swapping him for Bira Dembele? He was very solid, and was a constant threat from set-pieces.

Superb.

Noticed he wasn't in the squad at all. Dropped or injured again?

Not injured, just not selected.

Looks like a non-league player - he can run a bit, but seems to forget the ball half the time.

I blame Lisbie.

We'd be fucked without Dembele - one of the best centre halves in League 2.

Times you realise that your career is going down the pan:

1. Sam Muggleton makes the bench over you.

He's a total non-league player, expected him to head to the Conference South. Leave King Kev out of it though!

Ha, I'd be pretty worried to be honest.

He was 'waterboy' today, giving out drinks for all the players. I have a funny feeling you're right.

We're having a little sweepstake - how many times will we see Lisbie in a Barnet shirt. I've got less than 10 games.

Optimistic. I think he's out for half the season already? Lisbie is a hero, best striker I've seen at Orient, had the skill to go along with the heart, but I worry that he'll be 37 when he is fit again and his legs may have gone.

I think Grainger is better on that left wing back/attack position. He's absolutely shite in the back 3.

Yeah defintiely, seemed effective against Hartlepool, though I wasn't there and haven't had the pleasure of watching the whole game. In the back three he just gets dragged right out wide leaving the door wide open between him and Raynes.

Not the first time I've seen Akinde fuck up an easy chance. Not surprised they're good from set pieces, from what I've seen I feel Barnet have sacrificed a bit of technical ability for physicality.

Odd, we're usually crap from set pieces.

Just watched the highlights, can anyone explain why Akinde didn't pass that ball to Gash please? Anyone?

No excuse, he knows Gash is there and unmarked with a tap in and yet decides to take on the keeper from a poorer position. unimpressed.

In related news Lisbie doesn't need an op and could be back in a month.

Highlights are up.

The Gash effort does not look over the line.

How dangerous are Barnet from set pieces though. What a weapon to have.

You're the first team we've played in the last 18 months that has been troubled by Muggleton long throws - and that includes the basement Conference teams like Dartford and Telford. Most of the time keepers just watch the flight of the ball and catch it - though your keeper's recoveries at set pieces looked very good today based on the highlights.

You can say that again. The Shomotun situation pisses me off as most managers in this league would love to have an 18 year old with that much ability but he has yet to play this season and only made the bench once for a League Cup game.

Our team lacks not one single player who will 'get stuck in' there isn't a single player in our team who is happy to taek the action to stop something.

Therefore it means we allow players space to cross, allow them room to run at us and allow them to win the headers. We then seem to mass group block at the very last second.

problem for Curle is defensively our team is in need of 2 proper old school defensive players, who will be limited in on ball ability, but have plenty of old school dirty, agressive, get stuck in mentality with strength and height a big aspect..........the problem of course is formation wise we also need moreso nice, good on the ball, less agressive type players at the back.

its trying to find that balance we have too many of one type at present.

Just pure greed, lack of awareness I imagine. He probably wasn't mentally prepared for the fact that he was going to get the ball in such a good position, still criminal though. His shame and being berated by the other Barnet players went on for a good 10 seconds or more after that highlight cut off. Asamoah has a selfish streak too, and scored his goal from a similar position while Brough had an open goal... however in that case there was a Barnet defender back who may have cut out any attempt to pass, and Brough's finishing is a bit of an unknown quantity, sometimes a bit of greed is a good thing.

The meltdown going on on our forum is a joy to behold... people doling out mostly 3s and 4s in the player ratings thread... you'd think we'd lost 6-0. However bad our defence is, we didn't lose, we need to sort the defence out but we're obviously doing something right when we've scored 3 or more goals in half our league games so far.

A lot of teams this season are going to wonder how we've managed to score so many past them. Honestly I'd say at the moment we're just taking teams by surprise, nobody quite knows what to do, I don't even think we're creating a huge amount of chances in most of our games.

I was looking at that earlier, and some of the ratings were ridiculous.
League 2 Xavi Dicker was one of our best players yesterday if you go by our forum, and he was only on for 15 minutes!

Just watched the player highlights. It seems almost impossible to have only managed to get 2 goals

I'm convinced that Gary Dicker could come on for 5 minutes, score 2 own goals and get sent off, but would still be rated a solid 6/10 by our fans.

I like Dicker as a player by the way, it's just some of our fans talk about him as if he's Pirlo, the same fans also thought Paynter was Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

I wouldn't've passed it to him either after than miss on the first day of the season.

Gash is a decent all round footballer but his finishing is abysmal.

I should hope any footballer in the top 10 tiers would be capable of finishing that chance had Akinde passed it across. I couldn't believe he actually went for it, if you'd scored that I wouldn't like to guess what the score could have ended up as.
