Lol, I’m the opposite, enjoy all the guessing games and end up looking at the rumoured signings history, clips in action. Most of them don’t happen though.
If Steve Beck ran one of these sites i would take notice.

There’s a suggestion we’re interested though not from the usual itk sources, so don’t know how credible it is.

On Pools, we had the core of our NL squad still with us as we got promoted again, so continuity not a bad thing, but doesn’t sound like you’ll manage to keep the bulk of your squad together?

The issue is how much we'll pay them. They seem happy to stay but if you've got the likes of Harrogate doubling what we can pay then you'll lose a few players. Amazing we got promoted as our budget was massively slashed last season, only a mid table budget.

Pretty much got rid of who we thought we'd get rid off, Mason Bloomfield, Aaron Cunningham, Danny Elliot, Claudio Ofosu, Luke Williams.

Offered new deals to Gary Liddle, Nicky Featherstone, Luke Molyneux, Ben Killip, Rhys Oates, Jamie Sterry, expecting the last two to leave sadly.

Well. All our "senior" players have left (or jumped ship???)
Parkes
Maxted
McArdle (reportedly)
Page
Taylor
Sweeney
Williams
Bowman
Law
Ajose
Fisher

While, for incoming so far we have a "non-playing" keeper and a winger from the Conference.

Worrying times. I wonder who'll be taking our spot next May? Southend? or Grimsby??

the way football works sometimes it's just as likely to be Morecambe or someone from L1..... - assuming you get automatic promotion, because you don't seem to do play off's too well.

Haven’t you got a mound of cash to spend? Perhaps going to build the team afresh with higher level quality players.

I remember 10 years ago the only signing we made was a backup keeper in the Summer and we ended the season promoted. A lot of our young lads had to step up to the plate that season and many of them did and it benefited us massively in the long run!

Exeter could well have to go down a similar route themselves.

Apparently no one wants to move away from home in a pandemic

(Not my words)

Yeah very good, a composed head alongside more inexperienced defenders, sure he'll be tested a lot more up here and might get exposed more often but worth another year for me.

I wouldn’t call it worrying at all. While we’ve lost a lot of senior players, there’s a long way to go and I am going to wait until we see who Taylor brings in before I start to be concerned.

Also the signing of Coley will hopefully be a good one. He’s a talented player who did well in the NL, just the sort of player we rarely look at but should.

Naturally, if Taylor fails to bring in the “difference makers” he’s talking about then I will be a tad concerned. It’s key we don’t lose Randall or Jay but if they did go then we’d have even more money to play with to hopefully sign a very good replacement.

Sensible playing him at the back badgeman Clarke kept playing him in midfield he just didnt have the legs for it we should have done that with him might have got more out of him by the sounds of it.

Not surprising. You lot do have a long history of playing with kids.

Robbie Willmott has signed a new deal at Newport, which ends the chances of him resigning for us after his loan. Not too worried as he was average most of the time for us, with the occasional decent performance.

This was a surprise for County supporters as he had tweeted his farewells.

Gary Liddle and Nicky Featherstone sign new deals.

Both absolutely key for us last season.

Forgot about this thread, you might be right about Featherstone, wonder if that's what took so long to sort out, he wanted two and maybe we only originally offered a one year?

I'm reading into that Notts offered him a 2 year deal and us one or 1+1 and we've given in.

I'm probably happier with Liddle re-signing to be honest.

It's a good start, if we can keep at least one of Oates or Sterry I think we've done well.

Mansfield fans getting into a lather as Richard Keogh training with the squad, though that’ll be obviously due to his location and clough etc etc

Our former keeper Tom King has joined salford, not a bad shot stopper but his distribution is woeful, though he does have the ability to score from goal kicks if there's a hurricane blowing behind him.

I hear Newport have Alex Fisher on trial. Think he scored for them in a friendly.

lovely bloke, works hard, but I really can’t say he’s L2 level. Could be ok as backup but I’d be disappointed to sign him if I were supporting Newport.

You heard right! we are not worried about who comes on trial as we never take on any trialists, not in my recollection anyway and if we were to take on one of the current lot it would be the lad jordan greenidge who scored twice in the friendly and his all round game was very good.
