Genuine question. Where will your extra 3000 fans from yesterday disappear to at your next home game?

It happens every time we play you. We never sell out at home for the simple reason we haven't got 3000 extra fans who only want to see Oxford.

It's very strange.

So your crowds don't vary from game to game?

Guess our fans just like to see a guaranteed win.

Without asking 3000 people it is difficult to answer your genuine question.

My first Manor was 70 or 71 - I left home in 72. That first one I saw was from the London Road!

I missed most of the games between 72-79 as I took the Queen's shilling, so can't comment on many of them.

To be honest, I remember very little about those early games.. Even the famous smoke bomb game, which I was at, is a complete no-no.

I do remember we played you in some Anglo Italian comp (God knows how that came about) when we won 3-0 at the Manor which was a fun evening, but our games mostly fade along with the hundreds of other ones I've seen over the years.

Surely, you must wonder where they go. Understandable if it was a cup game against a PL team.

Not at all, crowds fluctuate and it is much easier to get neutrals along with me when playing Swindon. It must be because they want to see the mighty Swindon Town rather than Oxford...

That year we played you at home about October/November time. There was a small group of Swindon who got into the London Rd fairly early and were stood to the right hand side above one of the entrances. They got surrounded by Oxford and pretty much terrorised to the point where they had to run for it and leave the ground. If you were one of this group you would remember it. If not, then you must have kept yourself very much to yourself as there has never been a group of Swindon allowed to watch a game from the London Rd end, EVER.

Ah, well - probably time to ditch this until Feb. There are calls to restrict you to the Arkells only and sod the money.

That's what most of us expect, to be fair.

Depends how much your club/Lee Power value money over principle? If it's up to Power, I think I can guess the outcome, money will win!

I suspect the home areas will sell out if that happens...

I wouldn't be surprised if that is what happens. Tbf, if we didn't have to deal with Kassam you'd have had the new temporary stand that is meant to be going at the Fence End for yesterday's game.

No, I highly doubt it from the self proclaimed 'Guardian of the club'. Hopefully his successor would be less of a knob though in terms of rinsing the club.

I really can't see Power doing that to give up 2,300 paying spectators. I guess what he might do is give the Stratton Bank to our fans if he really wanted to make a point.

Don't know if Swindon have a problem specifically with Oxford, they seem to bottle any 'big game'

Don't think it's just Oxford. In recent years we've been dumped out of the FA Cup by Macclesfield (twice) and Cheltenham.

IMO, any side who really gets in our face completely disrupts our style. Of course, the question then arises as to why every side we play doesn't do it as well.

Could just be a historical blip - don't forget, prior to Kassam we rarely got beat by you.

Bit of a pisser, for sure!

You had one player in the starting 11 that was 25 years old and the rest were 23 or under. Your team didn't keep there heads and I think you could do with a couple of older, wiser and more experienced players. It is a great idea promoting young players but I don't see why you are also doing that on behalf of other teams with their loanees.

Tbf, our keeper responded to a dreadful challenge on him - many others, young and old, would have responded similarly.

Your point regarding the 'type' of player we exclusively go for is valid. It begs the question whether Power is more interested in turning a profit than gaining promotion.

Say what you will about Power the man but he has got the club on a sound, debt-free footing after years of living beyond our means.

It remains to be seen how long the fanbase will continue to accept 'stability' with little promise of promotion.

Your keeper responded idiotically to a challenge on him. He had earlier been booked for stupidly arguing with the referee about a decision that had nothing to do with him.

If he had reacted by staying down and holding his head I'm sure we would be having to deal with a player suspended as well but your keep helped us out a number of times.
