RefWatch; Ref for Oxford v Wombles (played them 8 times since Eastlands, lost 6, drew last 2 games 0-0) is Fred Graham, 51, from Stanford in Essex. Manager at ISS Services (basically M15, so no mum jokes), also went to London Nautical School, so used to dealing with high volumes of seamen on a daily basis (just like his mum). Movie star looks, as long as the movie is 'Hills Have Eyes'. Huge Arsenal fan. Been around, ref since 1988, FL ref since 2004. Struck off list end of that season, but reinstated after one season back in Conference. Not very mobile - has had operations on both knees & has a bad back. Reffed Wombles 6 times (3-2-1); 1-1 draw away to Shots in '11 when he sent off Ricky Wellard; 2-1 home win v Macc & 2-1 home loss to Accy in '12; 1-1 home draw v Cobblers (ah, the MMK days), when he missed a dreadful tackle on Meades, (Akinfenwa scored pen for Cobblers) & 2-0 away win v York in '13; and the 3-2 win over Luton with David Connolly's late, late winner in Feb. Reffed Ox 5 times (3-2-0), most recent was 1-1 draw with Shrimps at the Kassam in March. Loves the scum, reffed them 5 times & won 3. Monster. Home win % is exactly 50%. In 16 games last season (missed half season due to injury) he gave 46 Y & no R - high yellow.

One day we will beat Oxford, just I can't really see it happening on saturday.

My guess is 3-1 Oxford. We'll go one up before capitulating after half time.

Who know's though? Maybe Oxford will be leggy after a long and gruelling jpt tie tonight.

Sorry, but no long gruelling JPT tie for us, it was a stroll in the park, easiest game of the season.

We're playing well, but will be without Callum O'Dowda (international duty) on Saturday and the last game he missed was our only defeat in the last 19 league games, so there's your glimmer of hope.

At least a point.
The Wombles are on a roll against Oxford. They must fear playing us now. We've gone 2 games unbeaten against them. :)

I too cant see a Womble win. I would take a point if offered now.

Believe it or not, so would I.

We are unbeaten at hojme since March and I would like to keep it that way. But there are an awful lot of Oxford rejects in the W'don team who will be seeking revenge of some sort. Bulman Rigg and Meades to name but 3.

8 wins and 2 draws in the last 10 games against you is pretty impressive on paper. But these records are made to be broken.

I am a bit wary about this one.

Looking on here most Oxford fans are very confident. We have lost one in eight and if we stopped drawing games we ate winning would be around the top 3. We are better than most Oxford fans seem to think. Hope this is also the case with the team.

Generally, I would not put much hope on a professional team approaching games with the same attitude as supporters posting on a message board.

On the Meades point made by the other guy, I think it's just a phrase. Although he is a reject in the sense that I don't think we tried to keep him? Either way it's all good fun and no malice. Our fans have been pining for Dannie Bulman every time we've dropped points since he left.

We certainly didn't see the best of Meades though. He was much hyped and the injury really killed any chance he had of settling, which was a shame and probably a big loss for us, given his reputation. He was used as a CM in the games that I saw and I thought he looked decent - then he earned himself a red card and first place on Appleton's shit list, and I never saw him get another chance.

Has he looked like the same player you had the first time round? If so, I look forward to seeing what we missed. If you put him at LB then you're in for an absolute treat because Jordan Graham is going to shred him.

Meade's has been left back recently but call-in Kennedy is back from injury so we shall see. I expect him to play there and at the end of the game let Jordan whoever he is out of his pocket.

Frustrating game. We were decent enough first half but sat back too much after the break. The subs did not help us either as we lost pace and threat. Felt we did enough for a draw. Hey ho.

Agree a draw would have been a fair result but your comments are thee opposite of what the Radio Oxford said.
Acoording to thejm we had by far the better of the first half, albeit we only had one shot where you had 5 long range shots. But the number of crosses and chances we created were well into double figures. Pity we couldn't get anybody on the end of the crosses.

However, our goal was completely against the run of play and we had been under quite a bit of pressure. Probably a bit of weariness after our exploits on Tuesday night, and also the crowd was a bit flat after Tuesday. 3000 less people there.

We were hanging on a bit at the end.

The Oxford forum seems to be complaining about time wasting and niggly play. Bit unfair really. Thought we passed the ball well and competed. Many other teams will be far more professional than us.

You're not a dirty team by any means. Though I have to admit that I haven't seen anyone else take so long over their goal kicks, starting in the first half, at least this season.

On the balance of play a draw might have been a fair result, but I was never really worried that Wimbledon were going to score and I don't think you created that much. An organised side that passed the ball around but lacked a bit of ambition. We do have players that can hit a decent shot from nowhere and it shouldn't be held against us if we win a game due to that. I am not surprised that you say on here that you're drawing too many games.

Only other thing to say about AFCW is that I am always happy when a team brings Akinfenwa on. Beyond the fact that I'd expect a professional team to be able to deal with his attacking threat, he is slower to close people down, which allows us to play from the back a bit more.

I thought we had the best chances - hit the bar, scored, Macca had a shot that was a few inches wide and as close as anything I saw Wimbledon create. That said, I would have liked to see a bit more from us, we were not our best by any means. I thought we lacked presence in the middle and played our part in a first half was about as flat as football matches can get.

O'Dowda is one of our better players and his absence is noticable, but I think we could be set up to handle it better. We shift our top scorer out to the left and play Hylton/Taylor up front, a partnership that has never really seemed to work. We also spend far too much time crossing the ball when I think our strength lies elsewhere.

No such thing as a bad win in League Two though, and this buys us a little breathing room before games with Orient and Plymouth.

Can't say I'm surprised by this, but I am really disappointed. I didn't go to the game but when you look on the scores and see it's 0-0 with 10 minutes to go, then to check later and find out you lost is awful.

Not at all. Most people are saying we didn't play as well as we have and looked a little leggy after our win over Swindon on Tuesday night.

Are you going to join the sour losers club, of teams that we've beaten? One defeat in 20 league games doesn't lie.

For what it's worth I thought you were one of the better teams we've faced.
