Away to Oxford for Bradford City this weekend. City take their unbeaten record with them and will be targeting 3 points again to possibly go top (why don't you chill out this weekend Josh Morris pal).
After a run of playing some nice stuff but only managing draws, we've put in some less polished performances recently and come away with a few more wins, and having watched the Oxford game last weekend I'm confident we can keep the momentum going, saying that any team with Simon Eastwood in goal should be there for the taking.
Cullen to return for City in midfield the only real change though I wouldn't be surprised to see some more tinkering upfront.
2-0 away win.

Who the hell is Brad Ford? Sounds American. They know nothing about soccer.

3-0 Oxford. Brad to be left picking up his teeth with a broken arm.

I'm expecting a tough game.Oxfords home form up to there game against the Wombles was very good.I would be happy to get out of there with our unbeaten run intact.Although 3 points would be preferable obviously.Score 1-1.

At least Oxford have a chance of keeping 11 on the field as Jake Wright won't have a mental breakdown cos we released him 10 year ago and start kicking everyone.

Out of 18000, I am sure that 1 or 2 of us know something. Don't think we are ready to lose just yet tho' we could have done without that poor performance from Oxford last week.

I don't know what you thought my post was trying to say but you've misunderstood it.

Carver! Will your boys hang on until May - I remember you predicting we would bottle our own promotion campaign last year - and come join us in L1?

All I can say right now Tinpot is that you are a fancy toff middle class prick who would be more suited to watching sport like dressage and show jumping than footy.

Now L2 is much stronger this season than last as WE are in the top 3 and the other teams at the top are superior to the crap that got promoted last season. You should considor yourselves lucky because if you were still down here you'd be doing shit his season!

Well, all the best. :bye:

Because all people from Oxford are "fancy middle class toffs" aren't they?

You've obviously never been.

With 2 winnable home games to quickly follow this game a 0-0 bore fest would be sound.

Gotta say if we lose our unbeaten run it will be to some meh southern side away. If it's not Oxford then we play Wimbledon in a couple of weeks so it will be that.

And let's be clear, I'm delighted with the characterisation so I won't dispute it.

I'm more disappointed than anything, Carver, I thought we were getting along famously.

Go easy on him Carvs, he's had to throw away his picture of Dave and part with a wad to buy a picture of Theresa.

Right well, say a good thing about my club, then I'll be mates with you.

Good Lord.

Although I have no intention of forcing you to be friends with me by completing this challenge, the idea that saying something good about your club would cause me any sort of difficulty or discomfort is lost on me.

I'll make no claim that Carlisle hold a special place in my heart, indeed I'd be the first to admit to knowing very little about your history or your players or your current situation. No particular Carlsle team has blown me away or reminded me of my love for the game. By the same token, I'd venture that you don't get dewy-eyed over thoughts of Kemar Roofe or Joey Beauchamp or the 1986 League Cup final, but I'd not dream of holding that against you.

However, my ignorance of Carlisle United would not stop me from happily allowing the following:

With a 112 history, Carlisle United are a fine and longstanding part of the professional game that I love in this country. I consider them well-established and deserved members of the football league. I believe they have a fine support and are particularly well-followed on the road. In Cumbria, the club has the good fortune to represent a beautiful part of the world .

On the pitch, I'm afraid you'll have to make do with the following (due to my own lack of knowledge on the subject, I am happy to confess): I am pleased to see that your club has offered Michael Raynes and Max Crocombe the chance to further their careers, and I hope both have every success with you. Of your past achievements, I suppose the one I most appreciate is your ability to get out of the Conference at the first attempt - something that, you may know, the mighty Oxford United did not manage to do.

If you wanted me to go further and say something that I genuinely admire about CUFC, then the most immediate thought I have is that of the club and the players offering support and help to the community in the wake of the floods last year. That truly embodies everything that I love about football at this level; the community aspect, the fact that they are all clubs, and that they are still better at being clubs than they are at being businesses.

My opinion of Carlisle as a club or a place has absolutely nothing to do with my belief that it is entirely ridiculous to try and predict the score of a game between a club that I am hopelessly obsessed with and a club that i watch for between 0 and 180 minutes every year. And whilst you may take it for arrogance, I'd always be more than willing to read anything that anyone may write about their club before they play Oxford, so long as it is interesting or insightful and not just a silly comment based on a League table that I am perfectly able to read myself.

As I have said, this was all very easy to write, so please don't feel you owe me friendship. I'll continue to enjoy your posts on Oxford and on football whenever they should appear.

What? ehh go fook yourself snob.

Disappointing.

I was expecting something far more imaginative, with lots of vitriol from the self appointed champion of the north. Serious question for you. Have you ever actually been to Oxford?
