A trip to those pesky Oxford rascals for the mighty Gas on Sunday. Oxford are flying and in Roofe they probably have the best player in the division. I don't give a shit about that though because we have managed to liberate the ginger Messi T.M from the tyranny of Derry and the fiendish Cambridge board. With a energised Rory up front and a sell out away support I foresee a devastating 1-3 victory for the Gas with messi scoring twice and a 30 yarder from Lawrence. Have some of that ya three sided tinpotters. UTG :bdick::box:etc......

I am glad that us Oxford fans no longer have to deal with the nonsense claims about other players being the best in the division.

Oxford to win 3-0, Bristol Rovers fans to enjoy their big day out, most of them will probably start supporting us after Sunday.

3-0???? I cant remember the last time we lost by more than 2 goals...Gonna to be a very tough game. Lets hope Oxford under estimate us, and they are tired from there last 2 matches!! UTG!
They may have the best attacking player in the league, but i believe we have the best defensive player in Tom Lockyer! Should be a cracker!

Should be a good game and a good atmosphere with nearly 2500 Rovers fans in attendance.

Oxford will go in as favourites despite being a small team with poor support and a three sided ground ;)

Considering how well they're doing I would have expected a better average home attendance than 6.6k but the 2500 travelling Gasheads will help bump that up for them ;)

Seriously though, I'm expecting one of the toughest matches of the season. Oxford are the form team in league 2 right now and must be buzzing after wins over Swansea and Millwall. Add to that the best player in the bottom 2 divisions and a boyant home crowd and it's fair to say we'll have our work cut out to get anything out of this one.

I'd be delighted with a point but it's difficult to see past a home win.

Looking forward to this game, should be a good game of football with a brilliant atmosphere. Got a gut feeling Oxford will edge it by the odd goal let's hope I'm wrong though.
Getting the 8.45 train and arrive in Oxford at 10.30, any of you Oxford fans got any advice on where to go get some food and a few ciders?

Oxford will need a bigger fence to keep Bristol Rovers rugby field goals in the stadium

I pretty much object to Oxford having to play small time teams who aren't even close to being the biggest team in their own grim city.
Hopefully fatigue doesn't set in and Oxford claim their rightful 2-0 win.

That's why we've signed Gaffney, people rave about Taylor but he needs 20 chances to score 1 the other 19 shots end up all over the place

20 chances? Rubbish. Blokes been brilliant majority of the season, we need Gaffney because apart from that seven games he's been fighting a lone battle most of the season

Ok I might of been exaggerating it's about 12
He works hard I'll give him that but he's not a natural goal scorer

No he's not a natural finisher - although he has developed in that area, but he's got excellent positioning, work rate and interplay which allows him to get as many chances to become the joint second top goalscorer in this division, a division higher that people wrote him off in and is still our best chance in getting a goal.

Interesting game to call this one, head says it'll be a home win but heart says that we will repeat the 0-1 we've competed a fair few times this season and against Oxford in the past (Andy Rammell etc).

One thing is for sure the Thames Valley plod will get some more practice at kettling as they love to treat our away support like criminals. Does anyone know if they've made any improvements to the pub/thai restaurant outside the station?

And there was me thinking your Oxford City's feeder club.

With regards to the match I have some fears about our ability to keep up the tremendous tempo of our last two matches. There may be a touch of fatigue setting in. Providing our midfield (Lundstram and Sercombe) can keep up their achievements to date then we will have no problems. Roofe will keep at least 2, possibly 3 , of your defenders permanently occupied. Today we have extended the loan of Jordan Evans from Fulham until the end of the season. I suspect he may play in place of Skarz. Well aware of your signing of Gaffeney (however it is spelt) but I am sure Appleton will have a plan to keep him quiet.

With the current 4 pt cushion both above and below us in the table what ever happens - we will still be 3rd at the end of the weekend. Staying in the top 3 is all that is important, not the title. Also, I am really hoping Pompey will come unstuck on a sticky Accy pitch and fall flat on their faces.

Looking forward to it.

Really looking forward to this. 2500 Gasheads in fine voice is always great to be a part of.

Oxford clearly doing really well at the moment but I don't think we have anything to fear. Roofe is an obvious threat but I'm sure DC has a plan in place to stop him, just as Appleton will try and stop super Rory Gaffney. They have players who are obviously thriving at the moment but at the end of the day the vast majority of them are League Two players so we have nothing to fear. I fancy us to cause them a few problems because on a decent pitch we get the ball down well and look menacing.

I wonder if the fact Appleton is linked with the C*ty job will unsettle him and/or the U's?

Any doubts bout it being postponed Oxford
Although heavy snow is forecast overnight the pitch is covered and there should be no problem there. I don't think the match will be stopped by the referee.

However, if the surrounds of the stadium, car-parks etc are considered dangerous it is not unkown for the police to prevent the game going ahead.

Fully expect The Gas to win this one rather comfortably. 3 or 4-1 I'd say. Harrison(2), Easter and Taylor the scorers, with Messi coming on for the final 6 mins with the win's already in the bag. Then on Monday, he'll talk to the press and state that he made a mistake joining Rovers and is willing to come back to Camb.
