Surely it's inevitable, Citeh have put on an utterly abysmal display this season. Who to replace him?

Grini over Rodgers, his shows in Europe (even though he had tough opponents) have probably been close to pushing him out the door. To perform poorly in the league on top of that means his P45 is probably being prepared. But then, Pardew aside obviously, who do you get in?
Ancelotti?

Its just that he's the only big name out of a job (reportedly), and he has CL pedigree. Was some BS about him going there but only if he takes Ronaldo with him.

This. Thought it was nailed on until the potential of Ancelotti being available.

Benitez would improve them in Europe and that would appeal to their owners. City fans won't be happy though, they want "that Pep Granola from Munich"

City that.

He's 6th in Italy with Napoli ffs. If City appointed him I'd be laughing.

Benitez has been very not good for Napoli this season. Still Pellegrini can't stay after such poor showings. He's terrible.

He was crap at Inter too but he's a bit of a troubleshooter. I'd give City much more chance in a 2 legged tie against say Barcelona with Benitez in charge than Pellegrini. I could see a 1 year contract.

I would expect Jurgen Klopp to be high on their priority list, despite the season Dortmund have had.

They better keep their hands off Sean Dyche :box:. I don't really see any chance of them wanting him, I just needed an excuse to use the boxing smiley.

He's proven it for the red half of Manchester, it's time to bring him back.

City should never have appointed him. He nowhere near as good as Mancini.

I think it's a combination of Pellegrini's aging tactics and our aging squad that has been the problem.

Honestly need a period of transition at this stage to try and blood some young players in, whilst also shipping out some of the players in our squad who are north of 30 & quite frankly not as good as they used to be. It might mean us missing out on champions league for a year or so, and definitely missing out on challenging for the title, but it's for the good of the club. I don't even want us to throw stupid money around at this stage either, we have a bloody awesome academy, let's start actually using it.

I know they've not won in their last 5 in the league and are in exact mid table, but it seems a bit harsh after 8 games.

I'd be surprised if Klopp left Dortmund after this season. He seems quite principled and so I think he'd like to leave Dortmund in a better position than this. Also City seems an odd fit for him to be honest.

He was getting sacked regardless of the game last night. They've been terrible in Europe.

It seems strange that people would suggest Klopp based on the terrible season he has had when Pelligrini himself has done better in comparison this season and is just a year from winning the league. This culture of sacking after one poor season is completely toxic. City went out in Europe to one of the best teams in the world, I think some perspective is needed here. No other English teams did any better.

Leaving a huge club, the second biggest in Germany to go a team half of Europe didn't know existed 5 years ago would be a huge step down for Klopp.

I think City would be better keeping Pellegrini, and in the summer sign another winger and centre mid. Kompany is going through a bad patch, Mangala is still settling in and adapting his game, Fernando doesn't offer much in attack, and their two match winners from the second half of last season Yaya Toure and Dzeko have been inconsistent all season long. If Demichelis leaves I suppose another centre back will be needed too

Really? What a ridiculous decision that would be. Citeh would be laughing their cocks off if they managed to get someone like him for nothing.

To be fair to him City have not won away from home in the PL after trailing at half time in 20 years. Today's makes it 86 tries without success

And to add to that Mike Summerbee saw off their 6 coachloads from the Etihad, which is only 1 less than goes to bingo in Alty :D
