Seems like he is certain to leave Bayern Munich at the end of this season. When he does, it is clear he is PL bound. My money is on him taking over at Manchester City.

The question is will United let City have him without any fight? Chelsea? What about Arsenal, considering many Arsenal fans consider him as the natural successor to Wenger.

Of the four clubs, only City, United and Chelsea are likely to have manager's job vacant in the summer. Guardiola will probably reject Chelsea himself. IMHO it will be United vs City.

Yeah I think thats highly likely. Pep took over an already great Barca side and an already great Bayern side. While he can be brilliant I think he might want the safer option and frankly probably the most promising of those clubs. He has great players available to him at PSG, no rebuilding to do, he can just take a team already walking it and make them better. If Ibra leaves of course. Oh and Blanc.

Surely City have a team as good as if not better than PSG?

Reckon those three clubs will have manager's job vacant now if Guardiola becomes available.:gr:
But, why do you think he would reject Chelsea? It's a good opportunity to prove himself as the best of his generation.

He rejected them before, maybe this time he'd be more interested.

He'd prefer Arsenal, same as Klopp would have done. But if Arsene is still sat on his throne then it might just be the wrong timing again.

There is no job at Old Trafford, van Gaal is on the cusp of turning things around, just ask Scruff.

But PSG are far easier to keep at the top of the tree in their league. Man City are not. If he wants to test himself he'll join a PL club, if he wants to continue on with almost guaranteed success he'll go to PSG.

He'd be best served chilling out for a few years and take over from Mr Bielsa when he retires, by which point we'll be one of the greatest teams in the world.

Until then, at least you still support Stoke, and they're doing okay at the moment.

Every cloud and all that.

Gotsta admire Aber's persistent optimism. Seems like it was just yesterday Swans were set for top four.

If we let Guado go to City it will be an emphatic show of incompetence from the suits. Which I'm fully expecting. He is the obvious and natural successor to LVG whereas with Ancelotti you'd expect a bedding in period. Again.

We could do worse ovvi. Let LVG finish up the 3 years and appoint Giggsy.

I will be very disappointed if Pep goes to City - not because he'd elevate them up a level (which he would) but because the notion of him preferring the respectable, romantic, historic clubs would be smashed to bits. Barca and Bayern obviously have tonnes of money but they've both got rich histories and real identities to go along with it. If he doesn't come to United then I'd rather see him go to Arsenal.

What do you think to that one then, Silky?

As much as I love a bit of Pep I'm not sure his style will be that successful over here. It tends to work for a bit then has to get modified. Now he has moved to a slightly more direct approach but then he has Ribery and Robben on the flanks there who can mix it up and are world class. Anyhoo I think he's PSG bound anyway.

I'm going to put my neck on the block and say I don't think Pep will want to manage rich clubs with no prestige.

I think he'll take at least another year out, and when Utd don't renew Van Gaal's contract he will join them

I don't think he would want to take over Chelsea with all the internal problems the club has right now, and will inevitably have in the future again. Chelsea owner also does not seem to have too much patience when the team is not doing well.

If he wants to prove he is the best, United would probably the best job for him considering their status and the rebuilding job the club requires.

That's not true, they finished 3rd the season before (an unpalatable disaster for Barcelona or Real Madrid) and had a squad still hungover from the 2006 CL triumph. Guardiola had some very talented players but he made them a great team, shifting out bad eggs like Ronaldinho, squeezing one last great season out of Eto'o and helping Messi grow into the best player on the planet. It was no 'safe job' at all, which can be said of his time at Bayern Munich.

Money does the talking and I think any of the top 4 of last season could land him, most likely Manchester City I think.

Do City get rid of Pellegrini if he wins them the league again this year? It would be harsh.

I think it must be asked- how good is Pep? I think I could manage Barca & Munich and do a half decent job. I fail to see why City would lose MP too. He has topped a very tough champions league group, could potentially win the league this year, buys young attacking players and plays a good brand of football. These modern owners are quickly becoming a problem in football

Not necessarily if they do poorly in CL. They have already won couple PL titles, so I would assume the owners want City to be challenging for and winning the CL.

I think they'd be mental not to. The chance to snag the best manager in the world doesn't come around too often. City could potentially reach Barca/Madrid/Bayern level with him in charge.

At some point maybe but I don't think it will be this summer. Blanc is proving his doubters wrong this season by doing a fantastic job winning basically every game and keeping the players hungry at every given occasion. The only downfall was not being able to score against Real Madrid. Oh and Kevin Trapp. Why the fuck we signed him I'll never know.

Surely City have a team as good as if not better than PSG?
I think ours is better. I'm being completely objective here, I must stress.

As much as I love a bit of Pep I'm not sure his style will be that successful over here. It tends to work for a bit then has to get modified. The Robery has barely played this season, saltz. Douglas Costa and Vidal are the new face of Bayern and they're both ridiculously good.

Confirmed he's leaving at the end of the season, to be replaced by Ancellotti.

Mourinho to United, City and Chelsea to fight it out over Guardiola...?

Just watching NBC after the Arsenal Man City game and they've come up with a fairly interesting theory regarding Peps future.
If Arsenal were to win the league this season, do we think that Wenger may step aside on a high for Pep to take the reigns?
In some respects it makes sense. Wenger gets to go out on a high and he gets to hand over the club to probably the one man he'd feel most comfortable letting it go to. From Guardiolas point of view it's the club and squad that most fits his style of football.
I think if Arsenal did win the league and Arsene were to step down then Pep would go to Arsenal over every other option. I'm just not sure if Wengbot Femputer would be able to cut the chord, especially given the amount of time he's had to put in to get another league title.
