He made some cracking saves at the other end too. #onemanteam

Exactly mate, played off the park by Sunderland, SUNDERLAND. So much for this world class side you supposedly have full of talent...

Arsenal would by about fifteen points clear if they had Aguero.

Hamann said today in the german press, that Pep wil be shocked. he compares the atmosphere in the Etihad with the atmosphere at home games of Unterhaching. i think its a little bit harsh on the 'haching fans

Didn't he play for Man City?

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.

He'd have scored five at Southampton? Wow.

So it turns out (Manchester) City are paying Pep more than the 20 managers in Serie A earn combined.

Sky, the BBC, BT Sport, the FA, Howard Webb and UEFA are really going to have to up their game to keep these plucky underdogs down now they've got more than just Sergio on board.

Whats the problem though Stevie, just because City are spending a shitload of money in the correct areas and improving their status and brand, rather than on turds like you guys have been doing, you have an issue with it? Green-eyed monster me thinks.

He's hardly throwing stones from a glass house though Saltire. As we both know well, the current Manchester United squad and management team are all local lads being paid minimum wage, who stay on purely for the love of the club. There is no hypocrisy there whatsoever.

There are a couple of local lads in our side at the moment.

It amazes me, that even after all these years, City fans still show absolutely no signs of understanding the difference between the money they spend, and the money United spend. It's genuinely baffling.

To be fair, Barca and Bayern aren't much better.

It's genuinely baffling that you or anyone else think it matters.

Who gives a toss where these ridiculous sums of money come from.

Yes. We all know that United's money was EARNED the old fashioned way. By being a leading part of the group that forced the formation of the premier league, floating on the stock market to ensure the funds to secure early success in that and the newly rejigged cash cow of the Champions League with their G14 buddies, before starting the game down the route of three new kits a season and whoring yourselves out to be the official noodle partner of Myanmar, while the elite establishment they are part of try to force rule changes to stop anyone else getting into the top table.

It's Roy of the Rovers stuff... It really is.

Exactly.

We totally understand your point Bilo. It's just completely meaningless and totally arbitrary. Sorry.

What's Pep's record like in the Europa League?
After today's hammering, City's next league games are home to Spurs and away at Liverpool. Not hard to imagine them losing both.

But it doesn't matter a jot Bilo. What matters is what they do with the money they spend, and City increasingly are doing much better with the funds at their disposal than Man Utd.

Question.

Will the City fans' attitude towards the Champions League remain consistent or, with Pep in charge, will the increased prospect of potential success in the competition cause them dance a merry jig to the CL "anthem" rather than boo it?

Not sure I see the link either. Being unhappy with the treatment UEFA have given and wanting to win the biggest prize in club football are two distinct things.

Whether it's right or wrong to be unhappy with UEFA depends on where you're coming from, but as a neutral, I've seldom heard anything as daft as saying a club will be fined for booing a corporate anthem (even if it never came to owt) whilst being soft-as-fk on racism etc in different parts of their jurisdiction.

Anyway, thank god a bloke from round the corner to Blatter, and prodige of Platini, is running the world game now....

The fine was absolutely ludicrous - I agree. As are UEFA's reactions to much more serious issues like the racism you mention.

I was being facetious with the anthem comment, though. I was referring more to their general attitude to the competition. Manchester City fans have never really taken to the Champions League and I wonder if they would be quite as apathetic towards it if Pep were to deliver them a trip to the final or even the trophy itself - which isn't all that unlikely.

You're moving the goalposts a bit here mate. You weren't asking about apathy:

Question.

Will the City fans' attitude towards the Champions League remain consistent or, with Pep in charge, will the increased prospect of potential success in the competition cause them dance a merry jig to the CL "anthem" rather than boo it?
So you're still the only one who sees the connection between potential success and the booing of the anthem.

Regards
The fella who can't read

Sorry Bilo, I was conversing with someone with a modicum of intelligence - I'll get back to you when I'm messing about with my phone on the shitter or something. Just so I can get in the mood, you know?

I'll be sure to avoid metaphors too.
