Well, back on the road for us and after another failure to win yesterday, which takes us to 1 win in 7 and 2 wins in our last 12, we are now getting dangerously close to must win territory. This game isn't a must win, but we could really do with picking up a point.

Some in, some out seems to be the case team wise. Atkinson and Ness both are probably out for this one but Grant comes back in. With the lack of midfield numbers, now is probably the time to either revert to the 5-2-3 and have Tate being able to step out of defence and provide the extra man in midfield, or go to a flat 4-4-2 with Colclough and Inman wide, LDV and Haber upfront. Or start Ajose out wide instead of Inman, don't really care, they are both in terrible form. Regardless, we are playing so poorly at the moment, the selection or formation won't matter, its simply a case of praying we the opposition are somehow worse than us.

Posh on the other hand have really dropped off after a good burst of form since sacking Ferguson. They've now lost 4 of their last 6 and only managed 1 goal in that time, being shut out the other 5 times. They have incredibly only scored 8 more than us and we have been garbage in front of goal all season. Still, you can ignore their poor form given who they are coming up against. Washington, Maddison, James and co will probably fill their boots in this game.

Why? Because not only are we rubbish away from home, but we are rubbish at London Road and rubbish on Tuesday nights down South. Well, Tuesday nights away from home in general. 3-0 Posh win. 100 Crewe fans if we're really lucky.

1-0 Peterborough win, Davis to say "We did okay and our goal difference didn't take too much of a hit in this bonus game." Going for 2 shots on target as well.

Knowing Crewe we'll somehow muster a win in this game and lose heavily against Walsall on Saturday.

Don't forget our players get tired playing midweek games thanks to our wonderful fitness guru and dog walker Andy Franks.

We never seem to get anything at Posh.

Peterborough 3-1 Crewe (Washington, Boswick, James, LDV) 6,120 (102 Crewe)

Puts big pressure on us to win 2 of our last 3, probably to much of a big ask.

Quite right PH, quite right.
By the way, how is Jack Payne doing these days?
If you are fed up with him can we have him back.
A homegrown midfield of Dack, Hessie Jnr and Payne would suit me just fine.

I'm sure The Hand of Dom can give you a better insight as he goes to the games regularly.

But from what i've seen of him, and going by others opinions, it seems that he hasn't really lived up to the hype. He struggles to pass the ball forwards, is a little too lightweight and gets out battled easily.

Peterborough is in an area of confusion, not quite proper East Anglia, not quite East Midlands and not quite South East.

Least we have Granty back. Most influential player in the side after Garratt, only Dull Davis thinks otherwise.

Good quote from Davis about how he never criticises players who give their all.

4 weeks earlier... Davis criticises our best, hardest working player.

Well, deja vu all over again. Start quite well, have a good first half, go in 1-0 up, deservedly leading at HT. But then right from the off in the second half, we concede possession poorly, look shaky as hell. But the daft thing was, we'd weathered the inevitable fightback and were starting to counter a bit when they equalised. Typical that I defend Rachubka and he basically gifts them a goal by pushing a shot straight out into the path of Washington, who couldn't miss really. So disappointed to conceded such a poor goal, especially from a guy who hasn't done too badly up till now.

After that, Posh had a few decent chances and we royally cocked up a couple of promising counter attacks. Neither side deserved to win it, although Posh came closest to in the end. I'm not sure this front trio Posh are rocking with are good enough to fire them to promotion next season. Maddison is a diving cheating scumbag, twice he went down like he'd been shot and got 2 of our players booked, the clueless ref bought his playacting for some reason. Zakuani spent most of the evening with his arms around Haber's neck, the latter never got a free kick once.

As for us, back 5 looked ok, even losing Tate didn't really affect us as Davis stepped into the central role quite well, just missed Tates passing influence. If he is out for the season as it looks like he is, Ray, Davis and Guthrie have to step up now. Grant worked hard but once he got the booking that never should have been, he was severely limited. Jones didn't really do much good or bad. Ajose worked hard but there was no end product. Haber won a number of headers and ran himself into the ground. LDV though, my life he was terrible bar the goal. Lost the ball almost every time he got into battle, made a stupid back heel in the first half then dragged his man back in their half trying to recover his mistake. He was awful. Suppose you can forgive him because he scored, but his all round performance tonight was not good enough, needs to sharpen up a bit.

Tonight was a point gained as we all predicted a loss. Stings a bit how we got in front and then let yet another lead slip because we didn't have the fitness to last the 90 minutes and through silly mistakes all over the pitch. I think 4 points from our final 3 might well do it. Another massive home game on Saturday. Lets hope we can take tonights performance into this game and get the win.
