Why are you not on the championship forum ? Instead of acting like a fucking pipe on this one ?

Because he isn't acting. Unfortunately people can't help but respond to him and give him the attention he craves. If he was simply ignored he'd probably fuck off and do us all a favour.

Can the little boy from Rotherham disappear, not sure what they have to do with vale vs posh.

Anyway please beat us so there's more pressure on Westley !

Apparently the chairman declined an overnight stop so nine of the team paid their own hotel costs due to the importance. Sounds like the boys want it so let's keep going and see where we end up. Win next week would be massive!

Westley HAS to go. What on earth was that second half. Crazy subs. Its getting ridiculous as I believe this squad is more than good enough to challenge in this league.

Wow, at halftime 2-0 flattered us the game should've been all over. I decided if Peterborough scored a third I'd call it quits and head home early. The second half it was like a different team had come out, we gave it a go and once we got a proper striker on in JJ rather than the hopeless Robinson I started to believe we could turn it around.
The only downside from the day was Inniss, he's a quality player who seems to be made of glass.

From the highlights I am extremely disappointed with the goals conceded, the second especially Neal should deal with, great goal by Moore and Hoopers header was decent from a killer cross (what was McGivern doing there!) Doddsys strike took a deflection but hit it well to force it. Shows what we can do away from home when we actually attack which we were forced to do at 2-0 down, if we'd done that all season we'd be well inside the top six already.

Big week ahead with the US takeover either succeeding or failing in which case Smurf will hopefully keep his word and sign a striker to help us try to achieve the dream.

Keep dreaming, it'll be the yokels or the scum joining charlton and bolton, imagine that, tiny clubs like Port Vale getting to go to the Valley and the Macron,

Super Vale away taking over as usual hahahahahaha

That's funny considering I've seen us play at Charlton 5 times, and at Bolton 3 times. Better luck next time chap.

well that was unexpected to say the least, our abysmal 237 support shows the apathy, myself included, yet we are actually doing well. Still say play-offs a pipe dream but only Crewe and Colchester ( ironically bottom 2 ) were beneath us in the betting at the start of the season.

Never quite get why we are favourites to go down every season, we are a traditional league one club who more than hold our own,it's not like we are punching above our weight, last years abomination at the end of the season was possibly why bookies had us go down but for 3 years running now we have been in the bottom 4 according to those in the know !!!

We were favourites to go down due to our lack of firepower after Rico had left in League Two... We strolled promotion scoring more than any club in the land.

At the start of the bad run last season we were a couple of points outside the play offs so was silly to base it on a bad run.

Most people on here fancied us to go down in their predictions and laughed when we started to show confidence that we wouldn't after positive signs preseason so it's quite sweet to be safe by March and looking up. We've nearly doubled Crewe and Colchesters points with which bracket we were put in pre season.

I don't remember anyone saying vale would go down? You are about where i expected. Sadly I think that extra game you have played may cost you ultimately as it is now a race for the finish line.
But you are so good at home you so never know

bookies had us as rags, every single bookie at start of season had us in the bottom 4 in the betting.

The honeymoon period well and truly over then ?

Seems only Stevenage fans actually like the nauseating smarm.

Massively. He's a grade A helmet.

Why has it gone so wrong? You looked a good team against wear brom

Him. For the last 9 games we've made at least 4 changes every time. His subs are horrendous and his tactical nous is garbage.

Cheating c*** on the touchline. Honest in interviews.

I'm actually impressed, I was expecting a Steve Evans style "we wuz robbed!!1!!11!"

Deserved 3 points just for the manner of the scorer celebrating their first. You play for Peterborough ffs, you've not just scored a world cup winner you fucking loser.

A lot of the fans who went seem to suggest Posh time wasted at 2-1 (Page was arguing over only five mins added time when we scored) and some over the top challenges Posh got away with, if the case seems Westley has stamped his mark on Posh which goes against what they've tried to do in recent years. Strange appointment, would be like Arsenal replacing Wenger with Allardyce!

The worry for Posh must be their full backs, McGiverns run and cross for the equaliser was like the Steve Guppy/Jon McCarthy days when we were a decent Championship side... The only problem is McGivern is a centre half and has 10% of their quality so how they didn't deal with it would be concerning.

Have a look back at this forum in the summer mate. A large proportion of people were saying we'd be in the bottom four in those prediction threads. Not to mention the collection of Crewe supporters getting giddy at the thought of us going down with them.

I know what you're saying, on the face of it people will look at the league and come to that conclusion, but that extra game was away to Blackpool, which we won. It was a Tuesday night match in April that was brought forward to an FA Cup weekend a month or so ago. There are also a few games to play before those extra games are played, so a lot could change before then. Looking at the two immediately below us (Sheff Utd and Southend), their extra game is against each other, and the extra game for Coventry and Bradford, currently 6th and 7th is against each other too, but not until 19th April (the date we were supposed to play Blackpool). Barnsley have an extra game v Oldham, but we play Barnsley before then anyway, so potentially have a chance to cancel that out (big assumption that they will win that match ofcourse, they could lose or draw). Like I say though a lot could happen between now and then anyway, so it could be we're out of it already, or on the flip side we could be well in the play offs. Or, you could end up right and that extra game proves pivotal. We shall see.

Such a frustrating season for us in many ways. If we'd only had average away form , we'd be pushing for the automatics. We've only lost once at home and rarely look like doing so.

Peterborough is a difficult one. We are the patron saints of giving teams on a bad run a pick me up and so you tend to expect more of the same. I'm glad , however, that Westley is struggling.

We ALWAYS struggle when we go to Peterborough, it's one of those places (like Swindon) where we seem to never turn up. I've never been, but is it a tight pitch? We always seem to struggle on tight pitches. We also tend to go to places where we have historically done poorly and appear frightened and beaten before a ball has been kicked.

I think Peterborough are safe from relegation and in the same vein they are unlikely to trouble the playoffs, so they've not really got a lot to play for, except for the fact that the manager will not want to get sacked by continuing this poor run. They've blatantly got some talented players but selling their leading scorer in January appears to have hit hard.

We'll probably just replace Kennedy with Byron Moore after an impressive cameo as a sub on Saturday. We never look like scoring loads but don't concede a lot either. Generally, if Peterborough score first we will lose, otherwise it is likely to be a low scoring affair.

I'm going to go for an optimistic 1-1.

It just goes to show what I know. At 1-0 down so early on I thought we were in for a hiding and I certainly thought it was game over. Peterborough seem to always find it comfortable against us even if they are in a terrible run of form and I thought this would be no different.

Fortunately since the Sheffield game we seem to have a bit more belief and this result would have been unthinkable a few weeks ago. Our midfield is superb, with Grant, O'Connor and Foley all a real class act in this division. If only we had that deadly striker, I'm sure we'd be right near the top by now. I said at the start of the season that the bookies had been lazy with their predictions, as they did not take into account the fact that we were challenging for the playoffs last season until we had a real bad patch.

It's people like Purkiss that have made a big difference, as he adds so much more from right back than Yates could ever dream of. Dicko has also significantly upped his game this season and so both full backs join in well with attack.

As others have said, the game in hand won't really shake things up too much as many of the teams around us have got to play each other. We've got 3 tricky fixtures coming up and then a reasonably kind April, so if we can come out of these 3 with 6-9 points, we could be well in the play off zone.

What's good is that we are hitting form at the right time for a change instead of having a purple patch in November, whilst others around us are generally indifferent.

I suspect that we'll utlimately miss out but it's at least nice to have something to play for rather than our usual meander to mid-table.

MacAnthony's complete rimming of Westley after half a dozen games is amusing looking back.

The guy's success at Stevenage was truly a one in a million type situation when his mental training regimes, 'attitude based' transfer policy and daft tactics somehow clicked. He should not be managing in the football league, truly awful manager with the gift of the gab.

Hope Peterborough rid themselves of him a lot sooner than we did, he'll take you down.

Didn't realise the games in hand were all v each other so that's positive, I personally think we will come up short but as long as we give it a real good go I will be happy and hopefully we either get new owners prepared to build on this season or Smurf finds his love for the club again and wants to make the tweaks needed for a good go at it next season. I would say we have done very well with our summer signings, Grant, Foley, Inniss (when fit), Purkiss, Alnwick, AJLS have all come in and done well for us, the one shame is Andoh's injury as I believe we'd have been a few points better off with him fit all season.
