No Ian Henderson despite the fact he's the 2nd top scorer in the league, lol.

Would've taken out Doyle for Henderson, and maybe Korey Smith for Daniel Johnson or Paul Gallagher personally

In all seriousness, really happy for Smith, does a lot of work that often goes unnoticed so didn't think he'd make it.

Yup take a player you don't see much of, for one from the team you support :brill: Smith definitely deserves his place, he's been a key player for us this season and much of our success is due to him in the midfield.

You only appreciate how good Korey Smith is if you watch him closely every week - he's a superb player and a valuable asset for our team.

I think the fact Johnson has been in and out of L1 this season and not playing consistently throughout the season has kept him out of this team.

Don't get me wrong, I know Smith is a good player, but Gallagher with 7 goals and 16 assists, and Johnson with 11 goals and 10 assists deserve some credit. Infact i'd maybe take Luongo out of there because aside from the Asian Cup i've not seen him do that much

Of course you haven't, you've watched PNE all season.

These teams of the year are always fraudulent. I remember Harry Maguire getting in it for three years running including last year when he was utter dogwank. Any defender who is responsible for conceding 3 goals against Crewe should be docked pay for the rest of his contract.

Saying what I said about Johnson was silly really - as if your basing it on form for the time that they were in the division, he should be in there - because Doyle got in with only playing half a season.

I'm so pleased for Korey Smith although. His work often goes unnoticed due to the type of player he is, but you really have to watch him every week to acknowledge how good he really is.

Smith's work and break-up play allows players like Freeman to do their stuff, and have confidence in the players behind them that if he does lose the ball or make an error, it won't be too costly.

Happy with that - 5/11.

Again, they're voted for long before the season is over, probably before Johnson even landed at Preston.

Nothing really to argue with there. Four of ours could have been contenders, but:

Grigg's been great for the last four months but was rotating with Benik until January.

McFaz was very shaky for the first couple of months but has got stronger and stronger. Looks a better footballer now than when he signed too.

Potter is what makes us tick, but that doesn't tend to win you plaudits.

Carl Baker has been sensational at times, but drifted in games fairly frequently.

So, decent cases for all of them but not quite enough.

I think Bryan, Freeman and Flint are the three that should have made it from City. Korey has done very well but not so well 2nd half of the season - so I think this is voted for earlier on in the season and explains why he made it?

Fielding - good shot stopper but not convinced he is the best all round keeper this season.

Presume the comment about Little above was a joke! Ayling might have made it though.

Still confused at another of these, no Johnson, no Done, no Martin or Foderingham. Any of Henderson/Williams/Grigg/Beckford is a better option than Doyle who hasn't even been a League One player since January. Surely if they're going for it retrospectively then why not Afobe?

Problem with these is you can only pick 11 players and everyone has any opinion on about a pool of 30 players who could have made it.

Pretty sure Gary Roberts tweeted his voting slip in mid-March so presumably it's voted for then

Some of them though there's a lot of consensus on, across groups of fans and commentators. Done I'm baffled hasn't made it, likewise while I'd argue Martin is the best goalkeeper this season, the consensus tends to be that Foderingham is certainly a better candidate than Fielding. Johnson as you say is probably a lot more up for debate though.

It's a large sample size that settles the vote, in fairness.

I'm not sure there is that consensus that you say - loads of people have different preferences on keepers etc.

Not sure why it seems controversial the bloke who has conceded the least and kept the most clean sheets is in the team...

Can't argue with any of our other picks although I assumed Smith wouldn't be picked until they put him on the wing

Gallagher deserves a place in that team but that's a good midfield.
