They did nothing of note and we were the better team.
I'm totally neutral Lamby and enjoyed the game but you were clearly NOT the better team.
At one point in the 2nd half, Sky put up the action areas and you had spent 4% in the attacking third and Shrewsbury 47%. They deserved their lead IMHO.
Good luck in the 2nd leg though.

Happy for Shrewsbury, lovely little club and I hope they go up and experience life in the Championship, just gotta seal it at your place.

I think it will be a Shrewsbury, Rotherham final. Can’t call a winner out of that but hope the shrews do it.

Anyhow good luck to all the teams except them lot from the dark side of South Yorkshire.

These are the football league play offs Gassy, not the conference ones (or as your fans called it, division 5). ;)
well played Shrewsbury by the way, cracking goal too! A deserved lead going into the 2nd leg.
My god are you following me or something? Piss off!

I guess all the success we've had in recent seasons means I haven't been paying attention.... I'll get my coat :tw:

I don’t want to get into an argument, but surely you can’t be serious?
He's a WUM gents, don't worry about it

Just watched the highlights, looks like it was a good game with plenty of chances for both teams. Cracking goal from Nolan, should have scored with the first half effort as well.

I know highlights can make any game look good or bad but it looked a high quality game with good chances at both ends.

I won't congratulate anyone yet though considering it's half time, but great win for Shrewsbury

How many shots on goal did you have? I can't rememeber many at all. We had many more as i recall.

Shrewsbury looked far better than the team we played, they actually had a goal threat. Quite an even game up to 9pm when I had to stop watching, big win the second leg is set up nicely.

I'd have started Marshall though, offers more of a treat out wide than Reeves from what I've seen of him.

Seems like Bowyer is equally as deluded as Lamby:

Bowyer: "I've just said to the lads 'listen, you've got 90 minutes, I'm telling you now, you're a far better side than what they are. A far better side.'

I'd agree that Charlton have better players than us, as their budget allows, but no way do they have a better team. We have proven most of this season to be better than the sum of our parts, and the same was true last night.

No one in Shrewsbury thinks this tie is anyway near over but, aside from the first 15 mins where Charlton had some pressure and started quickly as expected, we grew into the game and dominated midfield from then on and I think comfortably deserved to win the game.

Thank god you're not a manager then.

Better players doesn't necessarily mean a better team though Gassy. All the leagues would be very boring if it did WTGR.

In Marbella, didn’t see the game thankfully but everything I’ve read suggests we were second best.

 criticising Bowyer for trying to gee the players up and put some confidence into them. What’s he supposed to say to them? “You’ve proper fucked this you bunch of muppets. Not a hope in hell you’re good enough to turn this around”.

I thought it was a fairly 50/50 don't think either side could complain to much if the scores were 1-0 either way or a draw.

But tbf, I didn't see the last half an hour.

I know, and I agree.

I'm more making the point like Bobbin' with the idea of well what should he be saying? If he came out and said "we smashed Shrewsbury that game, how lucky can one team be?" - it would be different

Yes I realise he will be saying that to his players in the dressing room - but saying to the national press that you are clearly a better side despite just been deservedly beaten by a team that finished a 46 game season 16 points ahead of your side, smacks slightly of delusion

Not at all.

Good for the players to see he’s backing them publicly. Be a bit stupid if he told them in the dressing room and then said the opposite in the media.

In fairness Lee Bowyer has never struck me as the most level-headed gentleman around. Caught up in the adrenaline of the moment methinks.

I watched it and thought Shrews looked easily the best of the 2, fair play to Shrews I had Charlton down as playoff winners but unless they play much better than that there going out.

2 gifted goals for Scunny today surely you won't get that lucky again on Wednesday.

Bit disappointed to lose the lead twice
If that one from Ryan Williams goes in its probably game over.
Still, I thought it was a pretty even game so Scunny probably deserved the draw..

They are very quick on the break so it's any body's tie still.

I thought the Scunny fans near us were complete morons but I do credit them for their passion for their team.
At least they didn't have a bloody drum thank God.

Will take that considering we trailed twice. It was a pretty even game overall so a draw is a farirresult. Great atmosphere in the ground, hope Wednesday is the same.
