At least it's a quick tube journey for you.

We have a similar Wembley record (barring one L2 PO win in 2008) but the difference is we'd have to have paid 100 odd quid for a train, 150 hotel etc. Add the ticket and all that comes with the weekend, it'd have been a costly weekend to have the exact same feeling you're going to have by the sounds of things.

I think Charlton are going to shithouse their way to it but I really wish Orient the best, a really sound set of fans. Not saying Charlton's aren't.

Jones is a pudding though isn't he?
Yeah I understand your thoughts with regards to coming down and staying down.

In 2001 we only took 8k to Cardiff for a playoff final, compared to 28k to Wembley only 2 years earlier in 1999.

Finally got the site to work.

Still can't believe how far Wycombe have fallen. I was very impressed with them when they beat us at Sincil Bank earlier in the season, the front 3 had so much pace.

Dodds has turned them into an absolute defensive borefest. Will be interesting how they set up for next season.

Good luck to both teams.

Hopefully a decent game and we'll see one of you next season.

Not one for away games now but our travelling support will enjoy a local game (maybe not the result though!)

Really hoping for an orient win, nothing against Charlton but I really can’t stand jones and would just like him to fall on his arse if I’m honest.

Orient have probably been the best team I’ve seen this season so I’m hoping they’ve got one more last push plus I got 50/1 on them to get promoted earlier in the season which would do nicely.

We’ll hopefully be able to go with 4-2-3-1 but the fitness of Jack Currie will be key.

We’ve managed to slump here despite fitness issues with our defenders.

I can see set pieces being a big part because we’re weak at them, we only really have Beckles and Clare as big commanding defenders and as good as Josh Keeley has been for us, he’s still young and coming for crosses is part of the game he needs improving on, last time we played Charlton they scored two from corners to beat us in the final minutes of the game.

Can’t wait for this to be over with, don’t like my teams being in finals and all the hassle and bollocks that comes with it.

First time as well VAR will be used during one of our games, can’t wait for everyone to moan about it afterwards.

This is also going to be the biggest crowd we’ve probably ever played in front of.

Not an especially great watch this but have to credit Charlton and their organisation. Just looks so hard to fashion an opening never mind score past them.

Congrats to Charlton.

Ideally as a neutral would have loved more goals and end to end type stuff but have to admire such a good defensive performance like that.

As much as Jones is a dick and I’m glad to be shot of him, congratulations to Charlton after years of punching below their weight, dodgy owners, etc etc.

Credit to Orient too, with a new sugar daddy and a reinforced squad then they could be a solid bet for another promotion shot next season.

Fair play Charlton, thought at the start of the season that they'd end up going up with Jones and every half decent ex-U in their side. Orient impressed me more against us, but you can't argue with Jones and the relentless grind.

Congratulations to Charlton, and Orient too really as you wouldn't have bet on it (unless you're Gab Sutton!) after a 3rd of the season.

Well done to Charlton.

If you'd offered me odds for Charlton to be promoted when we beat them just before Xmas I would have turned you down. The turnaround since that loss is pretty amazing!

Chuffed fo Bobbin.....Had good banter all season saying how bad each team was.....Not once did this cross a line.
My thoughts on his team have not changed, but i hope he enjoys next season

FairPlay Masi, it’s all good fun as you know.

Agree with much of the above, wasn’t a great game and we’re not the easiest team on the eye but we’re bloody solid and difficult to score against let alone beat, 20+ clean sheets in a season is not to be knocked and agree with Casey, we were disgraceful Nov/Dec time so the turnaround is quite remarkable.

How stupid we all were to celebrate those injury time goals at Orient back in March when we hadn’t achieved anything.

Well we have now

Pleased for Gillesphey, he fell out of favour a bit when we got promoted but the lad wears his heart on his sleeve, and that was a great free kick yesterday.

Glad Charlton have gone up as I’d of fancied them to be right up there again next season if they hadn’t.

The perfect metaphor for our season really. He was pretty crap the first half of the season but has been one of our standout players since and was great to see him get the winner.

Unlucky Orient but you’re hopefully in a much better place than last time you lost the playoff finals to go again next season and challenge towards the top

Tight and cagey final settled by a free kick, the more experienced team then did the job and won the game.

We had a ten minute period in the second half when we hit the bar twice and Jack Currie's shot had it not deflected would've probably gone in, but ultimately falling behind was too much for us on the day to come back from.

Wasn't a classic, neither keeper had much to do but if you take the lead and are prepared to suffer out of possession which Charlton did you can get over the line. Word for Mannion in goal for Charlton - not MOTM but caught nearly every single thing which came his way, a vital way of seeing the game out.

Thought Wellens was a bit too loyal and didn't make subs quick enough, which is very unlike him. Agyei and O'Neill should really have gone off ten minutes earlier.

Well done to Charlton, they'll make a better fist of it next season than we would've done in the Championship. This group of players were 4th bottom at the start of December, a playoff final was a long way off then so to get there was a monumental effort in the end for a very young squad of players.

You celebrated the win at our place more than you did yesterday, nice to know the old boys club that we are, where most of us are all old and falling to bits are finally worthy of such celebrations bearing in mind we’ve achieved nothing in 100+ years :cool1:

Goals in the 92nd and 97th minute to win the game that moved us into the play-off spots, the play-offs we went on to win.

Vindicated :cool1:

Anyway, best of luck all. Seeing as this seems to be the only section with any activity, I’m hoping I never need to post on this forum again.

Arrivederci.

Well done Charlton.

See you next season.

Hopefully Orient can be a strong promotion contender next season too.
