With the season coming to an end who's impressed from your team, I'll set young player as under 23

Player of the season - Manny Smith, best CB we've had in non-league, amazed if he is here next season

Young player - Louis Moult - Our only real goalscorer this season, clever player, great finisher, scores all kinds of goals

Moult's unlucky not to win player of the season as he's been great but Manny has just been a different class to everybody

We've already had our awards (after the Welling game two weeks ago):dk:

Unsurprisinly Akinde won the POTY award and our left back Elliot Johnson the Young POTY. Both of them were my choices.

On a personal level, my player of the season would probably be centre back Tom Parkes.

He has been an ever-present and after a shaky start to the season he has been superb. He was stripped of the captaincy by Darrell Clarke at the end of last season after letting himself go physically and mentally, but he has responded in just the right way and is loved by the staff, his team-mates and fans alike now. (Honourable mention to Matty Taylor, as he is a very good player let down all too often by poor finishing, while Stuart Sinclair would have been a shoe-in for this award if he hadn't been unlucky enough to pick up two injuries in quick succession which has kept him out of action for the last couple of months.)

Young player of the year for me has to be Ellis Harrison. He was the villain of the piece last year with his off-field problems and constant moaning/petulance, but he was given a lifeline by Clarke in the summer and responded superbly this campaign. As a substitute he has made a huge impact on the team with some crucial late winning goals, and his newfound enthusiasm/desire to play for Rovers is clear for all to see. Daniel Leadbitter deserves a mention here too, as the improvement he has made from the start of the season up to now is tremendous.

In all honesty, outsiders probably wouldn't have felt there were any stand-out performers in our team this year and that's probably a fair shout. We have been a very strong team, though, which is why we are where we are.

Carl Magnay will win ours best right back we have had for a long time and can even play left back without problems yet apparently his favourite position is center back!!

First half of the season would have been Newton. Second half of the season, Farman.

The latter will probably get it, although I think Bencherif's been pretty solid all season.

Totally agree with your picks especially matty Taylor who has never stopped working and has proved the early season boo boys wrong. Special mention for dellle Verde who was brilliant in the short time he was with us .

Player of the Season - We have had a pretty good season and most of the squad have played well, although prone to the occasional individual howler. We are suffering a similar fate to Bristol Rovers in the loss of a Sinclair, in our case it is Rob and not Stuart, the slightly less hairy brother. He has been the glue in the team, the midfielder who held everything together, since his injury a couple of weeks ago we seem to have avoided using the space he vacated at all and resorted to humping it over the top. Whether his absence ultimately derails our push for the play-offs remains to be seen, but the team are missing his cool head and direction.

Young Player - There are only a couple of serious candidates, most of our team are outside the age limit mentioned above, at least those who have made a significant contribution. Elliot Frear has come on leaps and bounds during the season and repaid the faith the manager showed in him when it wasn't always working, a player who can excite when on the ball. Kurtis Guthrie has also improved massively, he is good in the air and has chipped in with some pretty crucial goals. We have recently signed Tom Bender, another who is under 23 years of age, he has a long throw and looks comfortable on the ball, but a bit too early to really judge. If forced to pick a player I would probably go for Guthrie, rarely gives away a foul, probably doesn't realise how good he could become.

We don't get to vote our young player, the management chose that.
Hmm not sure who will get poty, as Luke says Farman will be up there as well as Bencherif, Tomlinson and Miller (although he hasn't really played enough games this season.)

Yep Carl Magnay has become one of the fastest cult heroes we've seen here in a long time, I'll be surprised if he doesn't sweep the POTY awards for us. On and off the pitch the lad is untouchable. All things considered I'd give Disley the runner up, considering he's pushing on towards the end of his career he's showing zero signs of slowing down.

Tough one this.

Player of the Season: Scott Rendell - his absence was key in our poor run of form, has scored a lot of goals as well as being a crucial team player, dominant in the air both attacking and defending and is crucial in the build up as well.

Young Player of the Season: John Goddard - has only shown his class in short stints but his skill, trickery and pace have torn apart plenty of defenders this season, and at 21 he has a bright future ahead of him.

Player of the season: Marc Roberts (CB). He has arguably has wasted his time in not leaving us for a big league side in January. He's played in almost every game for us and has been the rock in one of the league's best defences. He's a calming influence who prevents most attacks from happening and has been, for me at least, a reliable and dedicated captain.

Young (U23) player of the season: James Bolton (RB). I think most of our fans won't immediately look to him, maybe vouching for Richard Peniket and his 12 goals as a striker, but Bolton has been a clever and even adventurous player for us all round. He deserves a lot of credit for contending with former Cambridge United captain Kevin Roberts for the RB position and making it his own for the last few months; plenty of Town fans see Kevin Roberts as one of our best performers this season but Bolton has just about pipped him. We were weak in this position last season but now have two excellent right backs for this level, in no small part due to Bolton's coming of age.

Player of the Season: Will probably end up being one of Rob Sinclair, Marcus Kelly or Sam Wedgbury as they are generally the most popular choices when it comes to fans plaudits, getting a lot of motm's etc. All have done well, although defensively Kelly isn't outstanding and should be playing in midfield instead of left back. His 10 assists and captaincy make him a worthy contender though. Sinclair has been the main man holding things together in midfield, getting his foot on the ball and helping us actually play a bit of football, his recent absence has highlighted how crucial he is to the team. Wedg is a great destroyer, at least a 7 every week and another who we've missed greatly when he's been out. Personally i'd like to see Sam Russell win it though, criminally dropped for no good reason when on top form after 144 consecutive appearances most of which were outstanding. Pennock's choice to drop him for his signing Steve Arnold is a massive mistake which has contributed to our recent drop in form and the worsening of the mood around the club. Dropping a popular player who is arguably the best keeper in the league has angered many, it would really make a point if Sam still wins it.

Young Player: Kurtis Guthrie or Elliot Frear. I'd go for the latter, slightly more consistent imo.

Really tough one this.

Gonna have to go for last years winner and firm fan favourite Bradley Wood. While he hasnt been as good as last season he has played in a variety of positions and has even become our penalty taker and has chipped in with 8 vital goals this season.
Closely followed by Luke Graham who after a shaky start has become a certain on the teamsheet.

Young player of the year. Has to be John Johnston. Looks to be a real find and am I gobsmacked Crewe let him go on a free

I think this is about right. Rendell's 20+ goals have obviously made a massive contribution. Goddard struggled to get into the team at the start of the season but since Christmas he has been impressive. Speaking of which, I was very surprised he was dropped today instead of Betsy.

Not Dan Bradley? Seen many times him being listed as your most dangerous player by oppo fans. Certainly was against us at home early this season

Yes he has still carried a threat and looked dangerous but just hasnt had enough end product this season. Just 2 goals this season. He had 12 by this point last year!

Maybe he should've stayed at Barnet instead of getting homesick after two days... :dis:

Haha. Yeah.
Looking back though. Dont think he would have been good enough to hold down a regular place in that Barnet midfield! Curtis Weston keeps popping up with crucial goals away from home dont he?

Luke Young will be our player of the year. Phenomenal in the first half of the season, and despite dropping form recently and being banned for far too many games, there is no-one else to challenge him.

At 22 he might qualify for both. Toby Ajala (23) has been our other decent player this year, although Levi Ives has done well to play so many games aged just 17, although he has no competition really.

Player of the Year - I'm sure some of our fans will disagree but i'm going for Brett Williams. 15 goals with the limited chances he has had during most of the season is not a bad achievement and he is one of a few players to say he has had a good season overall. Notable mentions to Oastler and Barker too, and Forbes for half a season

Young player of the year - We haven't really got a lot of what you would consider to be "young" players, in fact the only one I can think of that would fit into that category AND has played all season is Jordan Roberts, so guess he wins by default!

He would've been on the wing instead of Lee Cook. Early on in the season it looked like we were far better off, but now Cook has really declined and I would say I'd rather Brad here currently.

Quite like a few of your squad to be honest. Been a fan of Thanoj for a while as well... Glad you could be staying up.

Ben Heneghan won pretty much all our awards which I'm not too surprised about. We will hopefully manage to keep hold of him for at least the first half of next season but he'll definitely go on to play in the football league at some point in the near future.

Hard to tell with us. Pretty much had two different squads.

I'd go with Joe Howe for player of the season. Oh how we've missed him this past month or two! Absolute asset to us. Matty Godden a close second for me. Had he been here, Adam Cunnington would have got player of the year by a landslide. Has been immense.

Not sure on the ages of our squad but young player of the year has to be Brandon Hall really, although I still much prefer Preston Edwards.

our goal of the season contenders

Best goal of the season selection for a while. Would say Neilsons at Gateshead is the best but it's a bit awkward giving an award to a player who's no longer here..

I'd go with Disleys myself, Disley's is a great pass from Magnay and then the finish. Prefer those sort of goals to just wonder strikes from distance. Mackreth probably second and then Neilson's against Gateshead.
