Copied from League One and Two..

Are there any players (or management) who are a waste of space ATM.

There aren't too many for us unlike last season but we will be happy to get rid of:

Lewis McGugan
Lloyd Dyer
Diego Fabbrini

They have no future at the club anyway.

We've only got a couple of duds, largely the squad are all more than earning their keep:

Nick Proschwitz
Betinho

Given that we probably have a top 5 wage budget in the league, almost everybody.

Even our better player haven't really done enough to deserve how much they are being paid. Only 4 or 5 regular players could really make a case for earning their wages.

If you asked me this question a month ago, it would have been easier to list the players I wanted us to keep, but Harris has got much of the squad performing. Players I think we need to offload, regardless of what division we're in:

Danny Shittu, Alan Dunne and Ricardo Fuller (latter two have served us well, but all are past their best)

Angel Martinez, Justin Hoyte, Richard Chaplow (MIA/Wage thieves)

Mark Beevers, Byron Webster, Matthew Briggs (just not up to it -- big shame to put Beevers in here, but given his performances over the past two years, I don't know where else to put him)

Stefan Maierhofer (a special class of awful)

Dan Harding, Martyn Woolford, Lee Martin (not terrible, but we can do better. Martin has talent but is too injury-prone)

Carlos Edwards (Performed admirably for us and in any other circumstance I'd give him another year, but he turns 37 this year and is recovering from a serious injury. Unless it's on a pay-as-you-play basis, we'd have to be made to offer him a new deal.)

Just hand us McGugan, we'll have him if you insist...

His career isn't on the slide mate, maybe after his 4 year deal with us is up he'll slum it with you.

I'd suggest it is going from Watford to Sheffield Wednesday

Lee Naylor - Why is he even here? Signed as backup for Forsyth towards the end of last season, just in case. No idea why we signed him for another season. Don't think he's once made a match day squad this season?

There isn't really anyone else, unless you add Conor Sammon in. Seems to be doing alright at Rotherham though, so hopefully we'll manage to get a little bit of money for him!

Can see the following leaving in the summer:

Leon Clarke (party time)

Bjorn Sigurdarson (pretty much already gone)

Kevin Doyle (good servant to the club, moving to Colorado Rapids)

Lee Evans (talks too much shit on twitter ... thinks he is Xabi Alonso of the Championship)

Bakary Sako (would do anything to keep him but with his contract running out at the end of the season and he wont stay. Has been linked with to clubs like Napoli and Valencia but apparently Sean Scannel is better.......)

Ha touché, but as I've said before the move here made sense, he got games and got to be closer to home, and play in front of more than one man and his dog

I haven't seen anything from Briggs yet that has really impressed me either to be honest!

Has the budget been that high at Reading? I thought it had dropped in the last season or so.
Last owners went a little crazy on wages and we're still trying to handle it. Were very close to administration last Summer.

I believe in 2013/14 we had the third highest wage bill in the league, only behind QPR and Leicester who aren't down this year. I imagine the 3 relegated teams are on more than us, maybe Derby, but I don't think any of the other clubs in the Championship this season would be spending much.

We cut a bit last Summer, but still brought in a few players. This year we've lost Drenthe and will be losing a few more, but it's not until next Summer that the last of the Prem contracts run out and we can really bring the wage bill down to an average second tier amount.

We are nowhere near to having a huge wage bill. We will be upper mid-table when it comes to wages.

Wow! That's roughly £290k per week for your squad. Would doubt if ours was even half that.

£15m seems really low to me, especially with players like Bent and Ince onboard - £15m is about as mid table as you get.

Imagine Brentford will be more than half of that. Even clubs that tend to have low wage bills in this league are higher than £10m. Last season Millwall and Charlton who are both known for low wage budgets were paying around £12m. Only Peterborough in recent times have been below £7.5m.

We are paying a fraction of Bent's wage and if what's been reported is true, under half of Ince's.

Anthony Gerrard, absolute tool as Cardiff fans know!

Even though he was young and raw with us, he was a proper arrogant little scouse shithouse. Never wrong, always blaming others for his mistakes. Decent centre half, proper bellend.

Is that from being related to Steven Gerrard?

Maybe thought his name meant he was better than he was?

What's wrong with him?

A jumped up twat living off his cousins reputation. Not a very liked man in football, if he doesn't like something he'll go off and do his own thing. Piled 2 stone on and been with the young'ens.

Hence why he's now at Oldham ..

Tokelo Rantie, will be amazed if he plays for us again.

Pretty sure Josh McQuoid and (shudder) Miles Addison are still hanging about too. The latter is taking his defensive masterclass to Blackpool currently

Poor Miles. I genuinely believe he'd have lived up to some of his promise, had he not had that injury whilst with us. He just looked a completely different player, when he came back.
