They were also complete dogshit for the other 30 games of the season. That 'they were good for x amount of games' argument goes both ways.

Wood wasn't in the team until Warnock came in and Derbyshire couldn't get a game for 21 games games under Redfearn,

Kelly and Best were injured and had played 2 between em before Warnock came in.

Broadfoot has been a mainstay though, I'll give you that.

Bruno offered a new deal. :cool1:

Greer, Calderon, Zamora all released. No room for sentimentality etc etc.. but still :(

Not surprised the last 2 have been released but Greer is a bit surprising.

Yeah, was still our captain! Even if Bruno wore the armband for most the season. Greer stepped in for our last few games (with Dunk suspended and then Goldson getting injured) and didn't really put a foot wrong. He may be 35 but could still do a job for a team in this division so I'd be interested to see where he lands up. Same with Calde, although he may need to drop down a level.

I suspect Bobby will hang up his boots. We'd have done everything in our power to have him available for our run-in (and play-offs) but it seems his body has finally just given up.

Has Greer still got enough miles left in the tank to be a first choice centre half for a couple of years or do you see him going somewhere as back up and the archetypal "good player to have around the club?"

He might be a good shout for us. We'll be crying out for experienced championship players, we've got a gap that need filling in that position and he's a proper leader as well.

Our In Contract list is Looking pretty healthy, but doesn't leave us too much room for additions

GK
Button
Bonham

DF
Colin
Yennaris
McCormack
Dean
O'Connell
Barbet
Bjelland
Field
Bidwell

MF
Woods
McEachran
Judge
Jota (loaned out)
Gogia
Saunders
Macleod
Kerschbaummer

ST
Hogan
Hofmann
Vibe

Out Of Contract
Swift (loan ended)
Canos (loan ended)
Rodriguez (loan ended)
Smith
Clarke (offered new deal)

Main thing for me now is getting some of our squad who are out of contract in a year down to longer deals. Mainly Button Bidwell and Judge.

I think one DF in, while loaning a couple out would sort us on that front.
We massively need a couple of wingers in midfield, of very good quality (or one if we recall Jota). A big strong DM would be a great addition too.
I think we look alright up front, maybe if we loan Hofmann out we might see another come in.

I'd be happy with Saunders and McCormack leaving, though both just got new deals. I'd also be happy to loan O'Connell out if we got a new CB in, similar to Hofmann.

If we can keep the number of injuries down (it got ridiculous last year) then we look in very good shape

Plenty on our released list.

Paul Green for a start...

No way you'll get Judge tied down to a long-term deal if he has another great season, BPL teams will come calling.

I'd like Wednesday to go back in for Judge, might be able to get him cheaper now another 6 months have ran out on his contract.

I could see that happening since he played under Clough at Derby. Doesn't seem to have a lot of fans in Rotherham though if twitter is anything to go by. Sounds like the bunting came out when his name appeared on the released list

Yeah he's shit but can see it with his derby links.

Likes of Buxton, Collins, and Richardson would be decent signings for you though.

Think he'll be looking for regular football somewhere, so Burton could be a decent option for him to continue in the Championship.

Tricky to know how much he has left in the tank, but he's generally been injury free over the past 6 years with us and has, to put it mildly, never relied on pace (all about positioning/reading of the game) so should still be good for another year or two.

Agree, he won't be going to any Championship sides for less than £9m, so while he's out with a broken leg I could see us getting him to agree to another 12 montjs

I think you're being optimistic if you think a player in their prime, aged 27, would accept a 12 month contract/extension. Should be the time of their career they should be getting their longest/best deal.

As he's out injured for the next 6-8 months, he may well want a bit of security offered by a slightly longer deal while he's injured. Happened with Hogan for us.

And Jota.

Do you think he'll be part of your plans next season? I'd love us to sign him personally, was so good for you in that first season. Did he get homesick?

No chance you'd get Jota, sorry but that's just ridiculous unless you are in the Prem.

He's had some family stuff to sort out but should be back with us after next season.

Well, given their going into the PO final after beating the side who finished outside the automatics on GD I'd say their chances are very good.

I'd imagine we'd be quite an attractive proposition whether we go up or not, however I'd expect you to have a ridiculous asking price, (rightly so) and although we're pretty well off Chansiri is very shrewd with his business.

Announced our list today, senior pros were Ben Turner, Kenwyne Jones, Joe Lewis, Filip Kiss & Etien Velikonja.
Jazzi Barnum-Bobb, Tyler Roche, Curtis Watkins & Abdi Noor were released from the U21 side.

Not bothered about any of them leaving, apart from Turner. But that is purely sentimental, think the injuries have taken their toll on him now.

Good to see Lewis' career changing move went well...

We've released Scott Wagstaff. Great bloke, always did a job for us but right decision to get rid and I suppose he wants the game time at this point in his career.

We've only got a couple.

Seydou Doumbia (End of Contract at Roma) - Hope to high heaven that this isn't even entertained. Forced on McClaren by Graham Carr and could only get in 1 or 2 match day squads in a team facing and ultimately suffering relegation

Steven Taylor - Long servant but his time should have came a good few years back. Personally not good enough for a (hopeful) challenge for automatic promotion.

Rolando Aarons - Fingers crossed with this one. Apparently already an offer on the table and due to be accepted.

Kevin Mbabu - Ditto

Freddie Woodman - One of our few exciting prospects who is a perennial starter for the England U19 team.
