I didn't know it either. When my hard drive space (1TB) was getting full I wanted to exchange it with a bigger one. Then I thought that Sony "maybe is now a bit more advanced since PS3 days" and googled for External Hard Drive and PS4 and found it that it's implemented weeks ago.

So now I have an internal 1 TB and an external 2 TB Hard Drive. Should be sufficient for a few weeks
That's a ton of storage LOL. Just curious but could you also use an SSD drive?

Another? It was free at first of course before they brought in all the free games and what not, but wasn't it always £40 before this latest one? Unless it's literally gone up again like, today...?

going up to £50 on the 31st August. So I guess, just buy an extra 12 months before then? I think mine runs out in September anyway.

It definitely didn't go up from free to £40 either did it? Wasn't it 30 at first?

That's right. (In Germany) PS+ was never free and it's the first increase in price in the 7 years this service exists.

On the PS3 you don't need PS+ to play online, on the PS4 it's mandatory for multiplayer. Maybe that's what he meant with free?

First year after I signed up on the ps4 they put me into an auto renew scheme so ended up paying the full £40 the following year, managed to get it refunded though and bought a slightly cheaper one elsewhere.

This year I got 15 months for £30 on amazon prime day.

I still don't think £50 is that bad. I've had it since it first became a paid subscription on the ps3. I never buy any games other than FIFA, Tiger Woods, Virtua Tennis, Skate/Tony Hawks or Virtua Tennis and only ever FIFA near it's release so the others £20 max. The amount of games I get for that subscription price is brilliant even if it used to be half that price on the ps3 (that was a real bargain).

I've got until December 2020 and if I renew in future I'll just get it on cyber Monday or something in the future.

I save more than what PS+ costs in PS+ sales on games at least anyway.

I fucking hate saying this but what Microsoft offer is far superior.

Games With Gold has better titles than plus, Xbox Game Pass is incredible value for money with some AAA Xbone titles on there, 360 classics and loads of indie games for 8 quid a month.

Add in EA Access which gives you the full game of all but the very newest EA releases for less than a tenner a month (FIFA 17, Madden, NFL 17 etc have all been on there for months now) and I'm sorry to say Microsoft are pissing all over Sony.

This is coming from a diehard PS/PS2/PS3/PS4 owner over the years who's first foray into anything Xbox was an Xbone won for a quid in a raffle at work about 3 months ago.

I honestly think I'll only use the PS4 for the Sony exclusive in future unless they really buck up their ideas, and it really pains me to say that.

Isn't EA access available on any format?

The fuck.

I need to get back on Persona 5 actually. Slowly plodding along... just got to the museum palace. Been distracting myself by playing The Wolf Among Us and Player Unknowns Battlegrounds.

4 got one on the vita (which actually made sense considering one of the characters) which sold really well so they're doing some more I guess.

I've gotta say, I really did like the early days, but I'm a bit concerned for my future of playing Persona 5. The sheer size of the game is one thing, I feel like I've played a fair bit and I'm only on about 18 hours... so I've barely scratched the surface. Yet I'm pretty bored of the combat already... this early on, I simply find myself spamming R1 and X buttons to get it done as fast as possible. And the victory screen, while stylish and cool as fuck the first bunch of times you see it, takes too long to get through now. Does the fighting get any better?

It scares me because the last RPG game I played with combat that bored me was Dragon Age Inquisition... and similar to Persona, I liked the story, but that ultimately resulted in the game becoming the first game I'd played in years that I didn't complete. The mixture of boring combat and knowing that I've got a long way to go in a game doesn't seem to bode well for me...

Not sure if it's what you'd consider better or not but after awhile enemies get a lot more resistances and block, repel or even drain damage of different types (so elements, gun or physical) so you won't be able to just run through smacking everything.

Finally gotten around to purchasing Elite Dangerous. A bit of an update from the game I used to play on my C64 in the 80s. I bought the full £40 version which includes the Horizon add-on to allow planetary landing. Really liking it so far but it's a steep learning curve in some ways.

A bit annoyed that there is no offline mode though, even in solo play. You need an internet connection at all time.

Damn annoyed. Noticed Elite Dangerous Deluxe Edition is down to £28 only 9 days after I paid fucking £40 for it.

I saw it but didn't download. I have an intense dislike of Japanese animation style, particularly the characters with their stupid, creepy big eyes.

A textbook example, well found Relentless. All it's missing is the puckered, analesque mouth. There is something almost creepy to the childlike look of even the adult characters. Combine that with the Japanese penchant for nonsense, gibberish storylines (in particular their RPGs) and you have the reason why I don't bother with them.

Absolutely my opinion. I can't stand this anime style too and never could be arsed to play a 1FF or Persona game although they get high ratings.
But I adore some japanese game developers too like the guys from "From Software" (Dark/Demon Souls, Bloodborne) although I have the suspicion they have their fair share of my recent heart problems with their beastily hard games and sometimes frustrating (game)deaths or the great Kojima-San Hideo Kojima with his Metal Gear Solid games. Great stuff but these anime games? Never

You do have to wonder about the Japanese male psyche sometimes. Adult female characters in games that look about 12 years old, not to mention the clothing they wear. They appear to love school uniforms for example. It's enough to make you shudder.

FF9 (finally) got a PS4 release. ITs the PC version that came out earlier this year? (Might be end of last year, I can't remember)
