I'm expecting another atrocious game where we will be relying on Johnson or Gallagher to score from range for 90 minutes, as mounting a proper attack means we might break our shape...

Imagine it will be the same team other than maybe Hugill or May coming in for Doyle, not that it matters as anyone who plays up front will be lucky to touch the ball more than 3 or 4 times.

Hope I don't get accidentally lost on the way to Deepdale and have to miss the game.

Lol ^

Sounds like this will be a classic then. Two toothless sides who don't create chances and fluff them when they do.

0-0 to make it 5 clean sheets in a row and 4 0-0's in 5 games. Grayson to say he isn't worried about the lack of goals, we just need a little more luck in the final third and half the stadium to be jolted awake by the final whistle.

I think everyone is pretty much fed up with Grayson now and it's more when rather than if Grayson will be sacked

I don't think he'll go, his football bores me to tears but I still think he'll keep us up.

Yeah I agree with SF. As dull as it is, I still think he's the right man for the job. There is nobody available that I would prefer. Maybe Hasselbaink but I highly doubt he'd come here.

Fair enough, can you guys see a long term future under Grayson?

I'm really struggling to.

I'm definitely thinking short term at the moment, this season is probably about surviving at all costs.

If we stay up then that's a different story, as I don't ever see progression from the bottom half with Grayson at the helm and Hemmings seems to have a bit of a three year plan.

Agree with SF and Tom on the Grayson situation.

The problem he has is that he is so easy to turn on. Last season it was dull and we finished 3rd in the league! So I can see the fans frustrations when it's dull to watch and we're not picking up the 3 points like we were last year. Its quite easy to turn on him.

But we have to stick with him. This year is about staying up and Grayson,I think, will do that. As for tonight 0-0

The most frustrating thing at the moment is that I know we have the potential to play exciting passing football as we have done it numerous times under Grayson, we were fantastic at Charlton and so many times last season. However I can't understand why he sticks with the same formation at Deepdale as he does away from home. It doesn't work and we could all see that last season.

Admittedly, he has been unlucky with only having 1 fit centre back and maybe he doesn't think Woods can play in a 2 at the back but at least give him a try ffs. Reach is utterly wasted playing so deep and it prevents Cunningham getting forward as much as he was doing earlier in the season too.

He's also been unlucky in that the strikers haven't performed. People keep saying that they haven't had any service but that's nonsense (apart from against Bolton.) Early in the season we were creating plenty and just not sticking them away.

I think lose this and DF will go. But with Derby on Friday we really could get pummelled there if we are managerless and just low on confidence.

Big night ahead, I think something miraculous will happen and we are going to win 2-0.

Wouldn't say it's been all you. You've certainly had a lot of the ball but both teams have had chances.

Better tonight but still not great. Vermijl is awful. Gallagher and Wright have been great. Garner has won a lot but missed a couple of chances. Johnson has been a total passenger.

Oliveira is toilet lol.

Was pretty fucking awful that but I don't care. I'm happy. We've won at home and a striker got the goal. Please fucking Christ though let that give us a bit more confidence.

Defensively we were absolutely immense tonight, with the amount of defending we've had to do, to limit them to as little chances as they had tonight was spectacular. Bailey Wright has been a fucking demon all season.

As for the rest of the side, well, the less said the better. I thought Garner was much better tonight, worked his socks off and won plenty of headers, just no midfield to help him out with runners.

Reach also worked his fucking socks off playing out of position. Gallagher was the best of the midfield three but that's not saying much because Johnson and Browne were fucking atrocious. I can forgive them though as they've been pretty good recently.

Why on earth he didn't make the two changes earlier with Hunts and Kilkenny coming on I have no idea. It was crying out to go 4 at the back and Kilkenny is perfect for those situations, gets his foot on the ball and calms it down.

Not great, but a win is a win and hopefully we can snatch something on Saturday.

Very relieved with those 3pts, made hard work of it in the last 10 minutes.

First half was much better, the game was a lot more open than it usually is, helped by the early goal, Reach started well and caused them problems. Garner & Doyle were a nuisance too, probably the most involved i've seen our strikers this season.

Second half, we struggled to get out and I was baffled why we swapped Browne for Welsh who was starting to influence the game and get forward. Gallagher should have been replaced as he was sloppy as fuck all game, while Johnson came into it a bit more in the last 20 minutes and helped us to relieve the pressure after being pretty anonymous. Midfield wasn't great at all and we struggled with Forest's runners.

Then Kilkenny and Huntington came on and we just dropped deeper and deeper and invited the pressure, annoying as fuck. Luckily the defence was solid as a rock, especially Wright who is proving to be one of the best defenders in the league. Woods is doing an amazing job as a makeshift centreback and Cunningham is great.

Forest were good in midfield but we completely dominated our penalty area so them getting in crosses was a waste of time.

See I thought we actually got out of our half a bit more when Hunts and Kilkenny came on cos Johnson went out right and Reach pushed a bit further up which gave us much more of an outlet.

Possibly gave us something extra to hit but when Forest were in possession our lot were nearly in the Kop with their fans.

Would have preferred to have seen Hugill come on rather than Kilkenny.

Personally I would have kept Doyle on and taken Johnson or Gallagher off

Didn't deserve the win but really couldn't care less!!!

I can't believe our fans at some points yesterday actually booing during the game, ridiculous.

You build from the back. We have kept 5 clean sheets on the spin and out of the last 15 points available we have collected 9 points. Fantastic and we are definitely moving in the right direction.

Very much agree it's not pretty to watch at present but at the moment it's about getting points on the board.

Just one thing though,Vermijl is absolutely woeful.

Don't see any reason why we can't nick a draw or even a win at QPR on Saturday.

Don't really get the Vermijl bashing to be honest, he's been part of a defence that has kept 5 clean sheets in a row.

His distribution isn't fantastic but it's not like he has anyone playing in front of him to give it short to, or will give him the option to overlap. Instead he has to resort to hopeful punts down the channel or a risky pass inside, he can't carry it forward in case he gets caught out and has no cover. On the other side, you have Cunningham & Reach covering each other's backs.

Vermijl was guilty of gifting them possession last night on numerous occasions in very dangerous positions.

One occasion in the first half he just completely left his man which resulted in Forest having a 1 on 1 which they put wide. Woods rollocked him for it.

The only reason he is playing is because we have no one else other than Humphrey who can play that role. And Grayson understandably doesn't want to change that back 3 who have been fantastic in the last 5 games.

He also looks like he doesn't give a shit!

Seems like he's replaced Humphrey as the weekly scapegoat as well as filling his position.
