Yet another game where the opposition have just appointed a new manager.

Could be a good chance to make it two wins on the bounce but I just don't fancy us at home, away sides take less risks so our tactics that work well on the road are ineffective at Deepdale and we just look short on ideas. I'd plump for another draw if I was betting on it.

Bailey Wright is available but i'm not sure how him or Woods get back in the team after the win at Burnley, I think we will be unchanged unless we have a few knocks.

Pickford
Clarke, Huntington, Cunningham
Vermijl. Browne, Gallagher, Johnson, Reach
Keane, Garner

Kirkland, Woods, Wright, Kilkenny, Welsh, Doyle, Hugill

Is that Cunningham at centre half?

He plays a bit of weird role, we're quite fluid at the back switching to 4-4-2 in possession and then 5 at the back when defending with Cunningham moving inside and Reach as a wing back. Works well.

Fair enough. He played on the left side of a back three for us a few times last season when Williams was injured/suspended, and looked comfortably assured, albeit in league one.

Glad he's doing well, top bloke, and he'd be in our starting 11 this season if we wouldn't have foolishly let him go.

Our defence has been crap in recent weeks and we have Al-Habsi who will make at least one mistake at some point during the game. 2-1 Preston.

Well at least we gave ourselves a 20 point headstart from the bottom 3. Although that has already been cut in half.

Need a new manager ASAP.

That was much much better. Reach was outstanding, as was Vermijl again. Garner never stopped and deserved his goal. Thought Browne was quiet but other than him, excellent all round. Happy Birthday me :D

Deserved win that all be it against a pretty turd Reading side.

Garner had the beating of their centre backs all game and he wound them up no end, Paul McShane lost his head a couple of times and dived in to give away the pen. Well taken by Garner.

Reach deservedly got man of the match, he was everywhere and his close control is great, proper workhorse as well. Vermijl has proven to be a very good signing too, gets better every week.

Thought we were comfortable for most of the game but Blackman should have made it 1-1 when he was clean through and he blasted it over the bar, shocking miss. No idea why Ola John doesn't start for them either, their most threatening player by an absolute mile. Second time we've come up against Vydra this season, dogshit both times.

1 defeat in 11 games, with 8 clean sheets during that run. Up to 16th.

Vydra is the biggest waste of money in Reading history.. I was hoping now Clarke has left he would be dropped, but sounds like Sa got injured so we had no chance but to go with him.

Can't see us making any progress until we have a new manager. Problem is next game is Hull away..

Emerse Fae takes that award. Blackman wasted our only decent chance. He has gone back to his old ways. Vyydra worked hard yesterday but his passing was shite. We were crap all over the pitch and there was no movement at all from the players off the ball. Most of them didn't even look interested and barely made an effort. Bond was probably our best player. Most of the loan signigs have been shite apart from Andrew Taylor and Ola John who has looked fairly decent on the rare occasions he has played. Don't thinks result's will improve in the short term with Hull away next and then Blackburn at home.

Hopefully the new manager will be annouced this week.

Agree with everything which has been said. I'll hold my hand up and say im hoping I judged Vermijl too soon as he has been great the last few games!

A bit of praise for Reach who was fantastic today, the lad along with DJ has that extra bit of class on the ball and here's hoping we can extend his loan for the season.

And Joey. He was immense today. Had the beating of Mcshane and Ferdinand all day long.

Closer to the play offs then relegation zone, keep looking forward
