Bit wary of this one, they're below us in the league but we've come undone against teams who press and have pace going forward. We played right into Brentford's hands and they took advantage on the counter and we were lucky not to lose against Birmingham and Bristol City. We didn't bother to turn up in the previous fixture by all accounts and Nakhi Wells punished us.

Not sure how we will line up, hard to change the defence when we're off the back of a clean sheet but I don't want to see a back five at home. Got a feeling Huntington might miss out as his aerial ability won't be needed against this lot you would think and he gets done by pace. Pearson is suspended for this one after picking up his 10th yellow at Derby.

Team i'd like to see:

Lindegaard
Woods, Clarke, Wright, Cunningham
Browne, Welsh
Reach, Johnson, Gallagher
Garner

Kirkland, Huntington, Vermijl, Kilkenny, Robinson, Doyle, Hugill

Missing this one thankfully.

This is exactly the sort of game where we are at our worst at Deepdale. A team that can knock the ball about comfortably, yet the onus is on us to attack because they aren't a Boro/Hull etc.

Either 0-0 or 1-0 Huddersfield.

Bottom 4 all play each other this weekend too. So a Bolton win and a Charlton vs Bristol Draw wouldn't be too bad for us.

I'm going today (and recording for my youtube channel :2thumb:). Should be a decent game, going for 2-1 Nobbers.

Very attacking. We'll probably get dicked now but at least he's trying something.

Grayson needs a fucking slap, his team selection was an absolute joke and our performance was disgusting for 60 minutes, until he made the obvious substitutions. The difference in our performance when Gallagher plays out wide is clear as night and day and it's fucking amazing that he continues to play him in midfield after he won us the game against Rotherham.

No way did we deserve those 3pts today, the first half Huddersfield passed us off the park and made us look like fucking spastics with their pressing. Lindegaard (who I love already) and the defence earned their wages and then some today, Bailey Wright was fantastic. It was very end to end after the changes and a pretty good game but it glosses over the shite that Grayson served up for over an hour. Fantastic cross by Woods and a great header by Browne for the winner though.

Thought Phillip Billing in the middle of the park was superb for them today, one of the best central midfielders i've seen in a while. Nakhi Wells is a quality striker too.

Couldn't believe it when I heard that Billing is 19. Unbelievable player. Completely ran the game.

Best prospect i've seen at Deepdale since Dele Alli

I quite like Eoin Doyle. Been involved in 5 of our last 6 goals. Better than Hugill by far.

He did well holding it up before the goal today, still think he's shit though, would be devastated if we sign him.

Pretty darn ridiculous that we lost that but I wasn't too disappointed. Today showed that Grayson-ball type tactics can often cruelly work against our kind of stuff but I know what I'd rather watch. 3 losses in a row obviously sucks but we're still 7 points clear so not concerned.

That was dire. How we won that I don't know. How long is Grayson going to persist with Gallagher in Center Mid rather than wide left?

Not a fan of Doyle but surely has has to start over Hugil?! Hugil simply isn't a footballer.

Huddersfield looked very neat and tidy on the ball and Wells was a constant threat up top. The big lad in middle was a good en too.

Anyways we got the points but it seems to be becoming a chore to go to Deepdale rather than entertainment at moment

It's crazy, I know i've used it as an example before but look at the difference against Rotherham. We went from a clueless bunch of mugs to a side that looked like scoring 5 or 6, his delivery from out wide is as good as anyone's at this level.

14th in the league and it's a chore to go?! Fuck me, if you tried playing open pretty football you'd be battling relegation with the rest of us.

I can understand it to an extent, it is rather tedious watching us at the moment. Personally though, I love going no matter how shit we play, will never be a chore for me, I barely even watch the football at home games though so that might be why

I would much rather us play dire football and win games than try and play a game which would see us get battered every week because we don't have the players for it. Some of our fans want to be entertained which is fair enough, I just think they expect a bit too much sometimes.

For example, I loved Saturday, it was great. I've seen a few people saying it put them off going again. I just don't understand that at all.

The final 20-25 minutes was good entertainment to be fair, end to end.

But 65 minutes of waiting for Huddersfield to score is not what I call enjoyable, I actually don't think Grayson set out to be defensive at all on Saturday, he just got his starting tactics completely wrong as he did against Brentford. He needs to start home games with the same system we usually finish them with.

I actually quite enjoyed saturday. Yeah we were shit but the games were we are under pressure etc. are still quite exciting to me ha ha The ones that are shit are where neither team really has a go and its just back and forth. They're the shit games.

I'm not bothered about pretty football but if you were at Deepdale on Saturday you would understand what I mean.

I love Grayson and he has done a fantastic job at PNE. And I do believe he his the right man for the job without a doubt.

Maybe 'chore' was the wrong word. When I wake up on a Saturday morning I can't wait for the game, but once on the game a lot of the time it is boring to watch.

Were not the most exciting team in the world and it is a results business but I totally understand the fans who moan about what they are watching as it's far from pretty.

Its like we wait until the other team scores until we show any sort of urgency,it's crazy. And yeah, league 1 assist leader last year and league 1 high scorer suggests we need Gally back on the left putting it in the box for Joey to tap home.

Being 14th is great for last seasons play off winners so I suspect the majority of your fans are pretty happy with how things are going, but believe me the dull football turns unpopular very quickly after the first season of staying up. It took us 3 years and 3000 less fans than our first season up here to realise that and make a change. As much as I respect Grayson it's not a style anyone can keep long term.

I honestly think if we add a bit of pace to our team in summer and if Beckford comes back the same player, we can seriously make a play off push next season playing this way. This league is garbage.

4 defeats in 20 games... We're not as bad as some make out. We just don't score.

Since i've supported North End I don't think i've ever seen us play exciting football, even under Moyes and Davies we were organised, hard working, with quality wide players and a very good striker. We've spent 10 seasons in a row at this level in very recent times (finishing top 6 in four of them), it's nothing new to us and more often than not, organisation and hard work beats flair and possession.

We're pretty turgid this year but with a few more additions, I think we will start being a bit more adventurous. I'm not assed about tippy, tappy possession football, we've never played that way and I don't want us to. I just want to see us press teams, get crosses into the box and score goals. Given time I think Grayson can achieve that with us at this level but who's to say what will happen a year or two down the line.

Pretty much sums up what I'm trying to say.

And as Alex has said, the return of Beckford and a few additions we could easily be fighting for a top 6 finish next season.

Grayson is great and stifling the big teams as we have shut all of them out this season. Just needs to take the shackles off at home from the start.
