No changes from Mick. Hopefully he's given them an earful and that's enough. Feeling quite pessimistic though if we stick with this system for even a small amount of the second half. Fingers crossed I'm proved wrong and we see the team that has performed in recent weeks.

McGoldrick has been anonymous. If I was McCarthy I'd give it 10-15 minutes and get him off.

As for us, would love to see Beckford given half an hour to see if he can win it for us.

Nothing to fear in this league after seeing Boro and Ipswich, two sides expected to be top 6. Disappointing to concede that goal though, too much space to whip it in and a free header. Great header though.

Another half of football to go mate. Our poorest half of the season to date so a lot more to come from us

Hope you're right, fellow blue. Will still be pleased if Mick changes things within the opening 15.

Good call with McGoldrick!

Here comes Niles then, switching to 4-4-2 as expected. Two attacking wingers in him & Fraser.

Sounds like we've nullified Preston this half, and created a few openings. Better, whilst far from our best.

GET IN. Immediate impact from the change, super.

Playing far from our best and winning away at Deepdale... signs are there.

Now kick on Town, Preston haven't sounded half as dangerous this half, don't sit back.

Two goals in each of our last five games. A third wouldn't go a miss to kill this off now.

This is exactly the type of game where we need to hold onto this result after not being at our best if we want automatic.

BLUE ARMYYYYYYYYYY!

By the sounds of it, by far and away our poorest performance of the season and we've come away with 3 points from Deepdale!

Truly positive signs, rode our luck in the first half, completely nullified Preston in the second without performing anywhere near to expected levels. Gritty, if unspectacular. Edged it.

This is exactly the type of fixture we'd have drawn 2-2 last season. Win when you're not at your best and you won't be far away, that's how the saying goes right? Never felt so positive about an underwhelming performance. Ultimately though, it's just the win that matters.

Won't have many away fixtures this season that will work us harder than this one.

Fifth game in a row where we've scored 2 goals aswell. That coupled with not conceding many, recipe for success.

Fair do's Ipswich.

What a shit feeling though. Time to avoid anything football related for a few days.

This place should be great fun with Bristol City winning at Middlesbrough.

Thought Ipswich did a good job on us 2nd half. We never really had a sniff. Garner needs a goal because he looks very low on confidence in front of goal. Still winning a lot of headers though.

Is it greedy to feel we should be sitting top with 12 points instead of 10??

He sounded like a nightmare on the radio, beating Berra and Smith to every ball. He's less than 6ft isn't he?!

Based on radio-only (so I'll wait to be corrected by those at the game), I think PNE will do well this season based on the first half. We weren't at the races by any means but you had us well and truly under the kosh for 30 minutes. Imagine your strong home record will remain mostly in tact this season.

Crossed my mind AGAIN at full time. I'm sure we'll get over it soon.

Need 3 maybe 4 new players and we'll be fine this season.

First half we completely dominated and could have possible been 2 or 3 up. Need to take our chances. Was very surprised how open and unorganised Ipswich looked at the back.

2nd half was a complete different story. They had us sussed and we didn't really get near them.

2nd half was the Ipswich team I expected and controlled the game without ever really looking spectacular but to be honest they didn't need to be.

Onwards and upwards.

Think he's just about 6ft yeah haha. He jumps early and just hangs in the air, it's incredible.

Yeah, my only worry for us, is that we have nothing on the bench to strengthen us attacking wise. We need another striker and a winger. Hopefully Chris Eagles will sign to give us something different because Kyel Reid just isn't good enough.

Should have been 3-0 up before Ipswich scored with their first chance, excellent counter attack to equalise and generally a very good performance in the first half. Second half we weren't great by any stretch, Ipswich pushed higher up the pitch and our lack of technical ability at the back showed as we kept giving it right back to them. A draw would have been a fair result overall but we didn't take the chances, we certainly weren't outclassed.

Gallagher was our best and most creative player so I was baffled when he came off ahead of Johnson for Kyel Reid. Garner gave them a tough game but didn't have the composure in front of goal today, I heard 'trying too hard' mentioned a couple of times which I agree with.

Ipswich don't have the same sort of quality as Boro but you can see why they consistently win games in this league, very tough to peg back once they get in front.

Nice to see Beckford back.

Garner is 5'10 and there's not a lot to him in truth, mental how good he is in the air.

Although not great today, Ipswich starting to look a real deal.

Provided both us and them do well this season the last game should be a cracker!

Most bookies have you and ourselves as 3rd and 4th favourites respectively, nothing between us two and Hull with Boro slight favourites, though we've gone runners up at some in the last 30 mins. Things must be starting to happen if the bookies begin to consider us as anything other than a top 10 side.

Don't get excited Ipswich folk.

Long way to go, plus you gotta play us twice.

Good luck though ;)

Another good win, still top of the league - I'm not getting carried away yet though. The biggest difference from last season if we've got so many more goal threats, six different scorers so far and that doesn't include Murphy.

Superb goal from Fraser, https://vid.me/DEyx
