A league two club who've spent very little time in league two bar the spell where our owners were tearing the club apart financially.

You were generally league two strugglers before your non league spell whereas we've spent nearly half a century of our history at Championship level.

In your life time maybe but I remember when we were in what is now known as the Championship before the money came.

Oh come on. We have spent 3 years of our history in the 5th league - we have spent more then TEN times more of that in the second league. How on earth are we a non-league club? Come on - I think you're the one biting now. I'm fairly sure the majoirty would argue that we're a far bigger club then Port Vale who are a League Two club at heart. We're a higher League One/lower Championship club.

For the same period Doncaster have spent 17 seasons in League Two/Conference.

Barnsley have now I believe but we've spent 49 or something there. We are currently at about the right position though.

You can? The last time Doncaster Rovers were in the 2nd tier other than in recent years was in 57-58. How old are you?

But we had a fair bit of history before the millions came - are you seriously comparing us to Crawley? We we're averaging 15,000 fans only five years ago

No you weren't. In 2008/09, your first season in the Championship, you didn't once get over 15,000 in any home league game and thats even with probably sizeable away followings. According to the figures, you got just shy of 12,000.

Not seen contrasting defensive performances like that for a long while! We were organised, resolute and reliable (for once), and Donny were absolutely shocking! Bywater played like an outfield player who'd replaced a sent off keeper, he didn't have a clue what we was doing or how to execute it, and Butler/McCombe were just bumbling their way through the game like two oversized oafs. How are you that high in the league with those 3 as your last line seriously?

Butler is a class defender based on his time at Walsall and in Pope the type of player he would relish a battle with i.e. a big old fashioned physical forward so I was surprised how bad he played. McCombe was just like his brother... very slow.
