Terrible half from us. Gillingham have been solid (far from brilliant) and more than deserve their lead. We haven't turned up yet and Bruno needs to shove a rocket up some collective holes.

I'd rather Smurf start himself up front than Patersen. He really is awful, little shitbag fucktard.

Sounds like our big hope might be the fact their right back is a walking red card! I'd go 2 up top second half. Let's face it Paterson for Cicilia isn't any more of an improvement.

We all knew that before he signed for us

It's not, and there lies the problem. Too much is expected of Jones and Forrester, two very promising but young strikers that are learning the game. Between them, Patersen and Cicilia are no doubt taking up the wage of a decent and experienced forward.

Forrester is badly missed.

Two things are certain in this second half - Vale will score, and one of our defenders will balls something up at some point (either a bad foul or just casual shitfuckery).

It looked a bang average signing at best, sure, but I'm always willing to give a player a clean slate, even a Stoke supporter as he is. But he's quite simply not good enough, not fit enough and has as much goal threat about him as roadkill would have if somebody dragged a dead Donkey on to the pitch. I'm raging, football is over-rated and shit.

Better this half, though not at all difficult, and we've hit the post. It's going to be one of them days but only have our 1st half performance to blame. We're a side that is trying to play Barcelona football but have nothing up front other than Jones, a player ultimately out of position.

That 1st half is going to take some explaining. Much better this half, but Gillingham are just as likely to hit us on the break and 0-2 will be game over.

Like the alamo now a bit pushing for a winner.

Still fucked off about the 1st half, even though I'm also happy to give Gillingham some credit.

Haha we're so shit and predictable.

Should've had that sewn up by half-time.

Sounds like we turned up at half time and could of had four or five. Can't afford those poor halves too often but yet again we've shown great character to come back and not only equalise but win it. Alex Jones you are my hero and the missus can have a nice evening rather than how it was looking!

Great turnaround that is.
We really need to start actually performing in the first half of matches though

First half we were awful and lucky to only be 1 down. Gillingham looked decent, obviously have some very good players, but we simply didn't get out of the blocks and even a poor side, which they are not, would have gone in leading at the break.

2nd half we were immense, and as soon as we got the equaliser there was only one team that was going to win it, although with players like Dack and then JET coming off the bench you always worry about the counter. Get Patersen out, another striker in and Forrester back fit and we'll be right up there, mark my words. We do need to start quicker though, we can't keep relying on brilliant 2nd half performances all the time.

Oh, and the referee was awful. Gillingham are a decent side and will beat anyone in this league on their day, but they are also cynical, and how they finished with all their players on the pitch is beyond me.

Can't have been worse on the assault they carried out on Andoh last year! Someone did a YouTube video of all the fouls and it went on for ages!

Pleasing result though against a decent side which follows up the wins so far at home.

How did Shalaj look?

Is it true seats are finally going in the Lorne Street stand?

Very true!

But back to the game, they were full of confidence coming into this with their away form and the return of Dack. We beat a pretty good team despite only playing for one half. That's the sign of a decent side.

I thought Shalaj looked more than capable when he came on. Fast and direct. Once settled I think he'll be a starter for us if we stick with the same formation.

Very much a game of 2 halves.

As usual we got off to a slow start and it took us until 60 minutes to get going. I was quite impressed with Gillingham after the first half and thought they played some decent stuff and deserved to be ahead although their number 6 was very lucky to be on the pitch and after the second foul the ref basically bottled it. So it was obvious that Edinburgh would take him off at half time as he would have definitely been sent off within the 15 minutes of the restart as Thomas was causing him all sorts of problems.

1st half we played Jones on the wing which in my opinion is a waste, while Patterson doesn't look quite fit enough and struggled but after we changed it and Patrerson went off, Shalaj came on which then allowed Jones to then move into the strikers roll, we started to look very dangerous to a frail Gillingham defence. We seemed to created chance after chance and you could see our 1st goal coming. Once we had got upto a full head of steam you could only see one side getting the 3 points and that's just what we did when Jones took his goal excellently, it could have ended up more than 2-1 as Streete was unlucky when he hit the post and also we should have had a stone wall penalty at the start of the second half.

Overall I think we deserved to win but i do think that if Gillingham can strengthen their defence in January then they sould expect to be in the playoff picture come the end of the season.

Taking points from teams like Gillingham and Scunthorpe at home and getting points away at the likes of Bradford and Peterborough is very pleasing to see due to no one knowing quite what to expect from us (vale fans included), so taking points off teams who are more than likely will be in the top 10 come the end of the season shows we could be in for a decent season ourselves and maybe just maybe the bookies may have been wrong to write us off 6 weeks ago.

Only time will tell but an excellent start to thr season for the mighty Valiants.
