As it stands if we win our remaining games we will finish above Preston. Can't see that happening though.

I'd put my money on MK finishing 2nd at this stage but as has been said, there's more twists and turns yet to come

It's gonna come down to the last day I reckon!

I could see PNE bottling it to be honest they looked very fragile, once we turned up at half time and started pressing them they just looked a mess, loads of hoofing it out of play (played loads of hoofball tonight) and the penalties were just Sunday league to give away. In fairness when they scored the second it was at a time when we looked to be going on to press for another (9 times out of 10 their penalty is given as a foul on the keeper). Considering they are 15/16 unbeaten they didn't look very confident at all and if Karl Robinson or Cooper was there tonight they'd be tugging themselves silly at FT. I'd personally fancy MK to get second now based on what I saw of Preston tonight.

Pretty sure Preston bottling it will be worthy of a boycott fatwa/bull from WISA.

Any of the top 6 would of battered us with that first half performance which is where PNE are showing a wobble IMO. That first half from us was dreadful. That said with ten men we battled very well, their keepers saved from Marshy and we've earnt the two penalties... Why couldn't we battle like this when down to ten men against Orient! Makes a refreshing change from our usual capitulation when down to ten men and seeing other teams go down to ten men and so to us what we did to PNE!

Possibly safe now. We will see what tomorrow's results bring.

First half was embarrassing. Worst I've seen a Vale side play in many s year, we didn't have one shot. We need to just crawl over the line to safety and have a massive clear out in the summer. I for one don't want Page in charge and won't be paying money to watch those same players.

I'd personally like us to give a more experienced manager the job and clear the back room out. Too much old pals act there.

Nice to see our lot restrained on here. This result means nothing as we sit here this morning.

Our forums are embarrassing. Taking WAY to much for granted.

How on earth PNE were not 4 up after the 1st 15 minutes was beyond me, to go in at 1-0 at half time was a result as i can,t recall one shot or a corner from us, their keeper may have touched it 5 times at most. Second half the pedestrian donkey known as Campion was removed hopefully forever and we started brightly and were on top. Couldn,t see the handball from where i was but apparently defo red, stupidity as 2-1 with 10 men is nearly always a mountain, never once though did PNE threaten a 3rd or 4th to kill the game, indeed we got stronger, joke tackle for our 2nd penno and O'Connor did the business. Cue panic from bottler Grayson chucking on Ebanks-Blake and roughouse Davies in the last 5 mins to bombard us with 60 yard hoofs. I said months ago PNE are bottlers and Tuesday v Gills and last night do nothing to alter my mind. Mk and Swindon now both have 2 home games and PNE go to County, can only end in tears, at least they got 2 derbies against Blackers and Fleetwood to look forward to, as for ourselves ought to get out of this and then a massive clear out of dead wood with the manager being number one on the list of cheerios.

I want Preston to go up just so I don't have to see the Preston/Blackpool fall out.

Let's face it, it is embarrassing for both if they are both in the same league as Fleetwood.

Well what a fucking night.
First half, Vale where probably one of the worst teams I've seen in some years. We went 1 up, should maybe have pressed harder and I have no doubt we'd have finished the half 2 or 3 up. Vale where that bad!

Second half was absolute dog shit from us putting it kindly. 2 poor penalties gave away, and frustratingly just sat back all half.

The ease in which Vales number 20 was able to fly past players in that second half was frightening.

I'm now still 7 or 8 years without watching an away win and about 16 games off top of my head. Make it worse Vale score their second, within seconds I go down with a collapsed lung and spend the night at Royal Preston (I nursed it home) Will spend all next week their now getting my lung blown up so now have to miss Notts County.

I'm cursed.

Thanks. Same thing happened a month ago, so not as worried now.
Just cursing my luck, as I just find out the Mrs has booked us a weekend away, that falls on the last game against Colchester.

Shit.

I hope you get well soon. Although I hope your curse lasts until the end of season :)

Not sure if you've heard that elsewhere but I only saw a North End fan with a brick in his hand.

It will have been a Vale fan in Crewe fans eyes due to their obsession with anything negative about the Vale. We're all thugs just like they all sing about football tragedies such as the Bradford fire because a handful of idiots did it when Crewe played Bradford last season.

Well I was going of what you said Tom...

"The police keeping us all in an enclosed pen for the Vale fans to throw shit at us was the cause of it though."

Not a surprise either though that Vale fans would fling their own shit at people.
