Don't fancy this one, one bit. Mid week drive to near enough France and back in crap weather on crap roads. No thanks. Playing Portsmouth at the wrong time as well, just as their hitting a bit of form. Would be very happy with a point. 3-1 to Pompey with 90 traveling away fans!
Met a comedian taxi driver on my last visit to Fratton pk in the 90's, instead of taking us to Southsea after the game as requested, he took us to the main Portsmouth hooligan pub and left us abandoned there.
Dugdale and Odejayi doubts for the game. With Stockton having an operation, if Kayode is out, it means we're a bit short of options up front. Dugdale less of a problem, since could be replaced by Ihiekwe, McGahey, even Ridehalgh at a push.
Damage limitation should be the aim in this one. I'd agree with Dickie Davies' eyes and 3-1.
When you're defending a two goal lead all you need to do is keep hold of the ball, seems pretty ridiculous to just keep throwing on defensive players and sitting deeper and deeper in the hope they'll hang on for the win. Proper pissed me off this has.
Yeah I'm not sure what happened there.. you were pretty much in control of that second half until Awford just threw everyone forward and you bottled it.
Fucking superb comeback from us though with so little time to do it!
I said before the game 3-0 Portsmouth - if that had happened, I'd have accepted it and moved on. But after being 0-2 up, I genuinely feel sick to have lost it. It's the hope that kills you...
I'm so confused, if someone told me a week ago we would score 6 away from home and then come from 2 down to win at home I would have had them sectioned.
To be honest, I think you'll be alright. Apart from the capitulation I thought you looked fairly organised and played some decent stuff. I've seen a lot worse, put it that way.
Awford is clueless IMO. Tranmere played great for 75 mins, they obviously scouted us very well and pressed our wing backs incredibly quickly when we had the ball, we just ended up passing sideways and going nowhere most of the game.
Despite the euphoria of a great result, it doesn't mask the fact that Awford is clearly not the man to take us forward and out of this league next season. Tactically naive, in fact hugely so and doesn't learn from his mistakes, nor builds on the foundations of a good performance previously.
It took simply putting 4 strikers on and Tranmere simply running out of steam to get anything from the game.
I heard some fans talking about the play-offs on the way home, oh how I chuckled to myself!
Teams miles worse than Tranmere have been down here this season, a few good players I thought especially in the midfield areas. No way are they going down.
Don't think you can judge a relegation candidate on one game, especially when they've lost it. If that was the case we would also have no chance of going down, going by Shrewsbury fans' comments after our late capitulation, however here we are still...
