see the Tv rights could increase to a ridiculous 4.4 billion in the next deal.............it has surprised me as I expected bubble to have burst and seen Sky/Bt both hit the financial crapper as I still don't know how either affords it.

but looks like Eurosport and some other channel (middle east one I think) are involved so it could be spread over 4 channels.

I thought this non-monopoly was for our benefit when it seems its just helped the PL whereas now you'd need 3-4 subscriptions to get what you got for one.

saying that I still do not know how BT/sky cover it, BT seem to give theirs free to anyone with them and Sky must have had a drop in subscriptions with the rising costs.

but fair play the Prem League, the gap is going to be ridiculously enormous.....hopefully maybe some more drifts down, even their wage budgets won't need that much

beIN is the Middle Eastern broadcaster.

Both they and Eurosport/Discovery have been rumoured to bid, but the media reports are all speculatory at present (and often fairly poorly informed on the nuts and bolts of it all at that). The fact that the deals weren't completed on Friday strongly suggests that it went to a second round of bidding though, which in turns suggests that a status quo from the last time round is probably unlikely.

I'm not sure of the best place to write this, bit seeing as I'm in this thread it might as well be here.

I've been thinking that we really should elect a national panel to sit down and sort out what times fall into what worded definition. There's far too much inconsistency and lack of clarity over what afternoon, evening and night encompass (fortunately we live in a land where morning means morning, and not any time up until about 15.00).

It's made more complicated because seemingly irrelevant things such as time of year (17.00 is afternoon in summer but creeping into evening territory in the winter) and what you're doing (23.00 is evening if you're out of the house but definitely night if you're asleep in bed) can have an influence. It's a minefield, and frankly I'm amazed we ever get anything done.

Silly little gimmick expressions or regional terms should be banned (elevensies, supper time) or at least come with a health warning (dinner time, using noon as a period of time).

Tee time used to be 9.15 on a Saturday morning, but I've not played much recently.

Traffic on a Friday night here is obscene, always has been always will be. Traffic is already bad enough for a midweek game, Fridays are even worse. Its a total piss take.

Yup thats what Im looking at. Just sorting the VPN thing out and will cancel. BT Sport alone is like £15. a paid subscription to the VPN program is $8 a month, and will be able to get 3pm games too.

Just saw a link on Twitter that catalogues how much TV money every club in the top 5 Leagues in Europe got, England, Spain, Germany, France and Italy. As a quick glance will tell you, only the freak amounts of Real and Barca in Spain, and Italy's top 3 got more than the bottom Premier League side.
