Oh, and for any Citeh fans who may have stumbled onto this board the game on 2nd Aug will not count for bragging rights.! You can buy as many trophies as you want but until you beat us in a proper game we will still hold the bragging rights, as we have done since March 2002.

Playing prem under 23’s teams is in my view utterly pointless and never prepares you for our league, might get a pleasing in the eye tippy tappy match but no battles or bruisers to come up against. Would much rather play league two or conference north/south sides.

When we've played big sides U-23's in pre-season it's with an eye to taking one or two of them on loan. The big club get to test their kids against a decent standard of adult players and we get one of the kids for the following season. Always interesting to try to guess which of them will turn up at Plainmoor on the eve of the new season.

Also you don’t want to play bruisers as the last thing you want is injuries from pre-season friendly.

We have Rotherham United next month now as well which is James McKeown's testimonial for 10 years at the club.

Lost 0-2 against Sheffield Wednesday at home in what was a very good game of football for a pre season game with 22 a side.

Saturday 17th July - Rayners Lane vs. Wealdstone - 12pm
Tuesday 20th July - St. Albans City vs. Wealdstone - 7:45pm
Saturday 24th July - Bedford Town vs. Wealdstone - 3pm
Tuesday 27th July - Chesham United vs. Wealdstone - 7:45pm
Saturday 31st July - Wealdstone vs. Colchester United - 3pm
Saturday 7th August - Dorking Wanderers vs. Wealdstone - 3pm
Tuesday 10th August - Wealdstone vs. Watford u-23's - 7:45pm
Saturday 14th August - Wealdstone vs. Hungerford Town - 3pm

Pre-season kicks off tomorrow with a local trip to Rayners Lane, should be a good crowd there as this is more of a thank you to Rayners Lane for letting us train on their 4G pitch during the height of the pandemic. I'll probably go to the Bedford and Chesham games too.

Got our first one tomorrow away at Coalville Town. Sounds like it’ll be a bit of a scratch team with lots of youth team players and trialists though, so our first ‘proper’ one is probably Telford next week.

The big match of Cleethorpes Town v Grimsby Town is on today at 15:00.

Restrictions have reduced the allowed attendance, but every ticket has been sold. There is talk of a few lads storming the handicapped entrance just before kick off, but the steward is aware of the rumours.

All a bit crap so far. We need the rumours about the Liverpool friendly to be true.

All our friendlies are away against lower opposition which was the same as last season and we got off to such a slow start, can’t play at home due to the new £250k pitch. Hope we have some behind close doors games against some better opponents or I fear come the start we will be slow again. Starts today with Braintree.

Proper tinpot friendly stuff from us at Coalville. Different XI each half, four trialists, a player we released back to get some fitness, half a youth team playing. Cal Roberts rested (bodes well) and our two continental boys are in quarantine.

Could be first time we have lost by more pints than I will consume and I’m of a large size.

My lad went to our friendly today and he said a guy near him was shouting disgusting personal abuse at the Clee Town keeper about his Wife and Kids.
In a pre season friendly ffs beggars fucking belief.
