Deserved win, but we did look relatively easy to make chances against.
Palmer looked really good.
think I'd offer Sherif a contract, he's a sloppy passer but is strong and mobile and has played defence, midfield and wide right so far.
I'd also like to see more of Andre Wright against better opposition.
With Nemane, Vincent ,Rodriguess and Roberts not playing we haven't had anything like our first eleven out tonight.

Beat Bradford 2-1 tonight in a game of two halves - goals from Rowe and Payne for us.

First half I was genuinely impressed - King and Miller our wife had their full backs on toast, and I’m convinced Khan, Oyeleke and Clarke will be a great midfield at this level.

We both changes teams second half - we had 3 trialists including the keeper from the car park in soccer AM (not even joking) and Bradford came into it and were much better.

I think we just are going to be easy to make chances against tbh. The defenders are pretty good as individuals but the whole ethos seems to be attack first, even for them. Think we’re going to score bucket loads probably if that attacking trio stays fit, but our title chances probably rest on the defence being able to keep the goals conceded column fairly respectable.

I would also offer Sherif a deal, fairly competent in three different positions in three matches. That kind of versatility can be very useful. Wright had his best game of the three, but looks a bit too similar to Sam for me really to be worth pursuing.

There's enough defenders there to make a strong defence but like you say, the ethos is very attacking. I suspect we'll steamroller some of the weaker teams but may come unstuck against teams like last year's Hartlepool who we're rock solid.

Won 10-0 at Great Wakering Rovers, Hatricks for McCallum, Walker and the young trialist scored again. Southend won 2-0 there a week ago, make of that what you will.

Nothing quite like a Chesterfield fan gang bang on here after they win, even if it is only pre season.

I thought he was a Grimsby fan?

Too right, I can’t believe we’ve the audacity to talk about our PRE SEASON friendly in the PRE SEASON thread. Truly shocking stuff

2-2 draw at Bedford on Saturday followed up with a 4-1 win at Chesham last night. Having attended both, there's still plenty to improve on across the pitch before the 21st.

Andre Wright as in the bloke we had in the Conference South?

Yep, we’ve picked him up on trial after he scored a few goals in Ireland for Bohemians. I’d be surprised if we signed him, but does seem to have a bit going for him, particularly physically.

Last time I watched it they had Lloyd Griffith in goal.

I haven't seen much SoccerAm for years but that Minter is a lot better than little fatty Griffiths . How that translates to actual football im not sure!

We just lost 1-0 against Burnley U23s, Brisley played and Mullin and Hyde got half an hour but it was mainly a mixture of fringe players, trialists and youth. Weve got a group out with Covid apparently .

Was on the bench for over 20 Harrogate games last year and played on loan at Darlington so probably not too bad.

I didn’t go but it sounds like we were really good and the lad signed from Darlington seems like he’s gonna be a baller.

Huge loss when Sousa departed. What an exciting and tricky player the lad is.

Another one that slipped away after his loan spell, really solid keeper commands his area with ease and what a kicker.

Drew 2-2 against West Ham under 23’s. Still unbeaten in pre season.
Southend lost 5-1 to them last week - make of that what you will.

Lost 3-0 at Carlisle. 12 trialists. One of them being Warburton so can only assume that announcement is imminent.

Won 5-0 at Aveley tonight, pretty much a trialist team bar 3-4 players, that’s 22 goals in 4 games. Trip to Hemel tomorrow for the first team.

Hessenthaler reckons

Tomorrow we play Stevenage, the only League 2 team we play
Surprisingly enough Stevenage were very good last season, first half of it they were turd but from around Christmas onwards they were in the top few form wise and they just seemed to be winning every week.
