Won 3-0 at Hemel, Robinson, McCallum and Wright with the goals much more competitive than our previous games but an easy game in the end.

I think we lost 1-0 at Hyde...neither the video nor the article on our OS reported the score. We definitely lost and played poorly. Quite a few of the 1st/2nd year youth graduates on the fringe of the squad seemed to play. Scannell went off injured, sounds unlikely he'll be fit for the start of the season along with Taylor and John-Lewis. Looking like scoring goals is becoming an increasing area of concern. Don't have a number 9 yet and both link/targetmen struggling to get over injuries they've picked up in time for the start of the season.

Lost 2-0 to Derby. Really enjoyable, even game of football. Doesn’t matter in pre-season, but we’d be kicking ourselves if that was a competitive game with their goals coming from a Slocombe error and late penalty, and Wootton missing two genuine tap ins.

The number of times we managed to pass through and open up a Championship(ish) defence is extremely promising. Big positives were Roberts, who came through an hour and caused them problems every time he ran at them, and Palmer who just looks a very classy footballer.

Considering Derby are further along pre-season than us that was a competitive performance from us. Midfield looks more mobile this year, Palmer and Francis both looked sound.
I do worry about Slocombe though, he makes regular errors, has lost his spring and I don't think he's the best keeper at the club just the most experienced.
Nemane looks rapid and direct.

No Hydeing place after that result. :tw:

We've got Stockport on Tuesday in our final pre-season game. Surprised we're playing the Tuesday before the season starts but half of the squad played at Salford yesterday so I doubt it'll be all the first team squad there (and also because we're carrying a handful of minor pre-season niggles).

I think it's BCD at our training ground on Tuesday afternoon.

The club said they're going to film it and then stream it later on YouTube as if it's "Live".

So. Yeah.

We've got Villa U23's at their place, Tamworth BCD and Grimsby at home left. Pretty pleased with how we've gone so far, certainly not set the world alight but looked decent in the games i've seen.

Grimsby fans - I notice your also playing Burnley U23 on Wednesday. Do you think it will be a strong GTFC side at Alfreton tomorrow?

I see our PSF vs Grimsby has been moved to a 1pm KO, presumably on Police advice cos they’re worried it’s gonna kick off (it will, it always does when we play Grimsby for some reason). Prospect of being the most unfriendliest friendly that I can remember, all very weird…

No idea mate that’s the first I’ve heard of the Burnley U23 game, had no idea we were playing them.

Will be sub 100 away fans. Absolutely bonkers they've shit themselves and moved the kick off. We will lose money on this game, should be playing it BCD

we are playing a Fleetwood Select XI at their training ground today

its been 10 years since our last competitive game with them, and now they arent even fielding a full strength squad against us!

Agree - BCD with the option to purchase a stream would've been the smartest move.

I remember watching this game a few seasons ago on a Facebook stream, where we all thought Michael Chambers was going to be our centre half saviour. Wonder if they’re providing the same coverage today

3-0 at HT. Mullin and two for Hyde. Not getting carried away as its largely their U23s with 3 or 4 First teamers.

Hopefully Spennymoor give us a proper game at the weekend.

Sounds like we're murdering that Fleetwood XI. Need some real competition in a friendly.

Yeah we could do with playing a proper side soon.

Reminds me of Champ Man when you'd be Man United or someone and arrange a load of friendlies against little clubs like Stafford, Warrington, Halifax etc in order to get your strikers morale up.

Fleetwood XI 0- 4 Wrexham

Another good run out, encouraging signs for our shape. We could do with some more challenging games though. I expect Spennymoor to be tougher, we could do with another game or two before the season starts imo.

Furman and Jones both played today and sound promising. Furman played the majority of the game. I expect him to sign

Well we gave Fleetwood a bit of a.. Hyde-ing. You can’t draw on anything from pre season friendlies, but things are definitely looking more promising and convincing. Usually we’d take like half an hour to score against Gresford, but the last two we’ve scored within the first 5 mins. The Hyde and Mullin partnership definitely looks like it’s going to be good. Promising, assured first game for Lennon too at the back

Usually we play Telford in pre season and they’re always good games, so not sure why we don’t face them

We need a team to actually test our defence. We still look very light in defence atm. Interesting that the guy we've had on trial wasn't there today.

Nice to see the goals spread around again that is 6 different scorers pre season.

Another win and a clean sheet after a 2-0 victory over a Lincoln Xl.

Like Wrexham we haven’t had a proper test with games against lower league and u23/Xl teams.

First goals and first win of pre season. Woods pen and Mcdonagh (trialist) with the goals in a 2-1 win.

1 more game away at Fylde on Saturday and then that's us until Maidenhead at home on the first day.

While listening to us beat Tiverton 3-1, I watched the second half of Stockport v Lincoln on Youtube. Pretty cool of Stockport to offer a free stream. Impressive training ground too. Where was that played?

Stockport look well drilled and strong all over the park. Have to say, though, that second-half Lincoln team was pretty awful and uninterested. Any of that lot expected to start for them in their League One season?
