We’ve got a case. Friendlies called off, no training. Another season of shite.
Just what you needed on top of everything else. I am sure that some games will be called off the first week of the season or some teams will have players missing.

We’ve got no players to go missing! Hope to God it’s sorted this week. Then the season is just about staying up.

We’ll be playing some 16 year olds I’m sure.

Our defence looked all over the place today and the 2 goals we gave away looked very poor. Hopefully the more games they play together they gel and cut these mistakes out. Forest didn't play there full strength today and comfortably won 2 nil. We offered very little upfront aswell apart from a couple of decent strikes in the first half. Based on what I've seen so far we look no better than a midtable side. Pett conlon look decent and benning should do well but I'm not sure on the others. I dont think rodney will score as many as last season Proctor isn't a goalscorer so can't expect him score many and Wilson didn't do much apart from 1 decent effort in the first half. No amoo Taylor legge worrall or gibbons either hope they arnt injured and were going end up with half our squad injured like last season.

I know its not much of a help -- But we've got about 5 players you can have.

Bloody hell! We ain’t ready to scrape the bottom of that particular barrel.

No doubt they’re the leftovers from last season where, unbelievably, you finished 5 points behind the worst Swindon team I’ve seen in over 50 years.

Thanks, but no thanks.

First viewing today against Forest, thought we played alright with the first teamers available on, poor second goal to give away but a stunning first for them to be fair and we forced their keeper into a couple of decent saves.

We look like we are going to be physical with the size of the players we’ve recruited but did at times play some decent football.

Work to do, injuries still an issue but won’t face that level of side this season.

It's up in the air who was the player who scored four, it was either Kieran Agard, Yannick Toure or Olufela Olomola, should probably just sign all three to be on the safe side.
Don't know how many poolie fans were there to witness but Olomola should be easy enough to pick out from a distance, he's about three foot high.

Thought the fans on here who like to refer to us as Belinda *cough* Vanni would get a kick out of our friendly opponents today.

We come from behind to win 9-1 against Runcorn Linnets, played about 8 trialists one that stood out scored four, rumoured to be Kieran Agard? Don't have any confirmation if it was him or not.
Kieran Agard on paper at least would be a decent signing.

Edit - believed to be Olomola who got 4.

Olomola had the unfortunate pleasure of playing for us which meant he was always injured because that what happens when you play for us.

He looked okay when he did play but could never really string enough games together to build up any confidence.

Olomola is alright, he’s short, but bulky and strong, hard to knock offthe ball, decent in the air for his height, but fairly slow. Although he doesn’t look as bulky in the picture above compared to his spell with us. He likes to come deep for the ball so needs players around him that will make runs beyond.

He’s kind of like a less pumped up version of Akinfenwa.

Maybe a bit unfair based on one game, but on their respective performances for Carlisle against Rochdale in the League Cup a couple of years ago Olomola is better than Hallam Hope (mind you, McKirdy looked better than either...)

The pherensics team on the Dale forum have provisionally identified the Trialist brothers, A and B, who appeared yesterday as former Burton left back Reece Hutchinson and Wolves defender Cyrianque Mayounga.

Crawley beat Horsham 0-5 yesterday.

I was extremely busy downing Long Island Iced Teas and Old Speckled Hen so not sure about the performance but it looks good.

Our two Gas rejects (from last season: Nichols and Matthews) scored so maybe Swindon shouldn't worry about scraping that barrel.

That was early on in the season and under Pressley. Olomola definitely did well for us for that first third of the season and McKirdy did look amazing too. Fela tailed off a bit same as most of our players and after beech came in, he wasn't really a player beech fancied. We had some decent moments at the start of that season with Pressley, beating Barnsley 4-0 at Oakwell being maybe the finest but quickly soured.

Hope to be fair to him had just come back from injury but also never looked the same player under Sheridan or Pressley or even Beech as he did under Curle.

Mentioned as soon as he was released by Swindon, but no manager in the football league loves a player as much as Keith Curle loves Hallam Hope.

Hope definitely has more natural ability than Fela and more likelihood to perform at a higher level, but if I was expecting a season of mid table battling with survival not a sure thing then I'd pick Olomola over him all day long.

Hope’s best season was under Sheridan where he scored 14, never got above double figures for Curle. Fela was ok but the problem was when our wingers got to the byline he’d still be jogging somewhere between the halfway line and the penalty area.

He would be a good signing for you, I rated him well when we had him on loan and was surprised our manager dropped him and didn't try to get him permanently last summer.

Maybe there was something off the field going on but if he keeps fit then definitely good for this level.

Just think he's not a Chris Beech kind of forward. Too short. I thought Mo Sagaf looked decent too but never got a look in under Beech.

We’re due to play Blackpool at home on Saturday, but they’ve just called off their midweek game v rangers due to a load of COVID cases in the Blackpool squad.

Think it’s safe to assume our players are going to have a weekend off.

Stevenage have an outbreak too, with cases so high whilst great fans are back we might see a real mess to the start of the season with disruptions all be it after the second week track and trace should mean only infected players miss games.

Dale v Rovrum tonight.

Last time we played them was our last game of the shortened 2019/2020 season, and we won 3-1.

Be interesting to see if the same Trialists are in the squad.

Drew 1-1 away at Birmingham City today. Romeao Hutton with the equaliser for us.
Strong Birmingham line up apparently and they beat Cheltenham 3-0 at the weekend.

We're playing Burton tonight.

5 players out due to Covid, testing our already paper thin squad. We've got 5 trialists playing for us tonight, only one I know of is Harry Bunn.
