Back when we did this on the old forum I decided to work out what the average prediction was for all the forum members who predicted the league. The upshot of this is that I have a spreadsheet with everyone's predictions (well those who posted predictions into the forum, I think some people may have sent theirs by pm to Richie). Would people be interested in me working out the results of these.

I can't remember the scoring system, was it just one point for each place out each team is?

Yes that would be great, only if I'm still near the top though :p

That would be good. I know that I got things pretty wrong at the bottom end of the table, slightly closer to reality at the top.

Cool. Well I'm away for the weekend but when I get back I'll have a look. Because the predictions are all in a spreadsheet it should be fairly easy to do.

It was indeed. And I also have a complete list of everybodies predictions on a spread sheet.

Just to start the ball rolling - I have 152 points at the end of the season. Not very good.
For some inexplicable reason I had Oxford to top the table.

Ah well - there is always next year.

Just working this out now. It'll be a little while, but here's a little teaser... average error.

The average error is the difference between the team's actual position and the average that forum members predicted them. It is the average number of points that team cost people (you get a point for each position out your prediction was, for each team, lower points totals are ranked higher).

As you can see... Wycombe cost a lot of people a lot of points, they're top of the average error table... by a mile. And below Newport, the predictions become a lot closer to reality

EDIT: It'll be tomorrow, once I've finished work... I managed to break the spreadsheet.

Brain refused to wake up today, I'll try again tomorrow. Yeah I knew deep down it was a bad idea, I had them 7th myself but then you knew putting Oxford top wouldn't help your cause
