You've become noticeably more optimistic.

I've realised just how terrible the league is, again.

It has been pretty weak the last few years, and looks the same this time, which is why a side like us will look even more out of place next season. It could get embarrassing.

No, there's no could about it Chris. It *will* be embarrassing. I'm waiting for your sweeper-keeper to full Pirouette then nutmeg Sam Habergham. It will be a glory for football.

Etc etc.

I'm unconvinced by Cooper. If anything, you're only that high on my prediction due to your BULLISHNESS. Garry Hill could walk this league with your budget, like he did with a top five budget in the Conference South with us.

You seem confident! Although I do think you'll actually finish top half this year (and certainly above Woking).

It would be terribly embarrassing if they didn't finish above Woking, again, (and also because that's seemingly the only thing they care about nowadays, us) with almost double our budget.

Agree with Sparrow.

Godsgift pointed it out earlier in the week when talking about us. You look at it and you might as well just pick most teams out of a hat and predict it that way.

Yep agree with that. Much like last season, when apart from a couple of sides who were clearly head and shoulders above everyone else, most teams were much of a muchness.

Think this season will be the same, but with the gap between the title chasers and the rest being even bigger. The difference in class between sides like us, Tranmere and possibly Eastleigh and most of the rest of the league will be quite astonishing I think. Could be a lot of heavy beatings.

It will be interesting to see which teams overachieve. Braintree and Dover certainly weren't expected last season but there's plenty of room for some 'surprises' this time. Because we have Garry Hill, that's why I think we might be in the top half.

Not a lot has been said about Dover over the summer. They lost a couple of their main players I think, but have they signed many?

They replaced Deverdics with Jim Stevenson and signed that catflap Steve Arnold. They could GO.

I cut and pasted the entry from the guy above, it looked nice so I left it there. I think we'll finish top ten, but as long as the football is better than the last few years, I don't really care where we finish.

Hopefully Dover are rubbish now and we will smash them on the 6th.

Top "banter".
Not really. It's normally at least one of the ex-league teams who make a comeback, and Barrow, Wrexham, Macc and Turkey seem to have done the best recruitment this time round*. Foggy Dew Vegans are obviously on a mission to waste as much money as possible whilst finishing in the playoffs every year until the End of Time, and York are less shit than Daggers.

To be honest, as long as the Football League remains a permanent Altrincham--Free-Zone, I don't care that much.

*(Except for Sean McGinty, of course)

You probably have a bigger budget than most and that pitch will be an advantage.
We're building a new stand just relaid our pitch, both of which cost a pretty penny. Also: we generally have a better away record than home.

Here's an update on how I plan to run this. To make it more interesting, and to keep it interactive throughout the season, I plan to run it differently to how it's usually done.

The overall winner will be as I stated before, the member with the lowest score, but I'll also be doing a monthly update. The ten most improved each month will get points and then I'll run a league table for the points accumulated throughout the season.

I was also planning on running a transfer window where you can swap predictions however they will cost you on your score.

Just ideas at present...

So the most improved is a separate thing? Otherwise, if you're spot on for most of the season you're at a disadvantage?
